When I arrived I felt the country coffee shop vibes and this is an accurate description. When I went in I asked all the questions to find out more about their menu and fresh bakery products. They make fresh delicious homemade sourdough on their premises that comes in a few different flavors. I took two loaves home of the plain and it is absolutely delicious. It's better than any other that I've tasted from the area and let's just say I really truly know !!! It's chewy, fresh and real homemade sourdough that will have you looking for more and not forgetting Mocha's. I asked about their bagels. They do "not" make them and they said that these were New York bagels. Being from New York I'll tell you another fact these bagels taste like a Lender's bagel to me and my family. At $2.75 a bagel, $30 a dozen I'm very disappointed. I asked about their donuts and they don't make the donuts or apple fritters. I took two jelly donuts and 4 apple fritters. These are tasty, fresh and simply fabulous! They make fresh cookies, eclairs, cannolis, cakes and other delicious bakery items. I bought a few cannolis, eclairs, cookies and cakes. We tasted all of them and they are also amazing. It was such a pleasant atmosphere just watching people sitting and relaxing, talking and enjoying their meals, coffee, dessert and ice cream. Yes they have ice cream but no they don't make it here maybe I'll try it next time I visit. You can sit outside if you'd like there's a couple of tables in front or there is plenty of comfy chairs and no one rushing you inside this adorable restaurant! I have to add that the girl who helped me was extremely kind and carried my bags to my car and seemed to care very much about her customers. Steve, the manager, played an important role in making that happen, and I remain sincerely grateful for his kindness and attention to detail. Although our party was only three, we were given a beautiful table in the back that felt private, comfortable, and perfectly suited for the evening. We still enjoyed the lively energy from the nearby bar while having a quieter space of our own to celebrate. It struck the ideal balance between atmosphere and intimacy. Hailey was our primary server and was training George that evening, which meant we benefited from the care of two attentive and friendly servers. Service moved smoothly throughout the night and never felt rushed. The food was, for the most part, delicious, with steaks and dishes that reflected the restaurant's reputation for quality. There was one minor issue with my own steak, which had more butter than I would have preferred, but it was far too small a matter to overshadow the purpose of the night. What mattered most was seeing my mother genuinely happy and enjoying herself. That meant the world to me, and to her as well. Even my husband noticed and commented on it, which is rare for him. We only ate here once and the food was pretty good. I was skeptical because many reviews were not positive but I think that was due to the speed of service. Hubs and I have been wanting to visit for one of nights that have specials, like Taco Tuesday but many reviews talk about not being able to take full advantage of the specials. Earlier that day, I called to ask about the event, reservations, and any entrance fee. I was told the rumba would be from 8 PM to 2 AM, but no one mentioned a $10 cover charge per person. We arrived at 8:30 PM and were surprised to learn there was a $20 total cover charge for us. Unfortunately, the service throughout the evening was extremely poor. Our waitress repeatedly forgot items, asked us to place a food order that had already been taken, and disappeared for long periods of time. We had to ask multiple times for simple requests like extra sauce, a cup of ice, and a drink refill. My husband ordered a Jack and Coke, but later another waitress said they did not even have that drink available, which caused confusion. After waiting repeatedly for service, my husband spoke with the manager regarding our experience and asked if the $20 cover charge could be refunded since the advertised performance had not even started and we were leaving due to the poor service. The manager declined, offered no apology, and made no effort to address our concerns. What disappointed us most was the complete lack of customer service, communication, and accountability--especially during a grand re-opening under new management, when making a good first impression should be a priority.
