Basically traveled to WEC solely to give this place a try. Pretty unassuming being in the hotel but was surprised at the variety and quality of the pastries. Specifically had the raspberry and chocolate croissants and was very happy with both. Raspberry croissant was super flaky with a nice cream and jelly inside. Little messy to eat, but delicious and not too sweet. The chocolate croissant was also very good and both pastries were large. Price for both was a little steep but given size, quality, and being at WEC it really wasn't bad. Coffee was also pretty good with the price surprisingly reasonable be given its location. Place was fairly busy but the line moved quickly so it wasn't an issue. If you're looking for a nice pastry and coffee I would definitely repeat if you're at or near WEC. read more

Sticky bun, spinach quiche, sausage egg and cheese English muffin, vanilla frosted with sprinkles donut, raspberry filled donut, and a chocolate croissant. Everything was delicious! I am a tropical flavored girlie, so I'll try just about anything with those flavors in mind. Naturally I left with a guava cream puff and a passion fruit entremet. The guava cream puff was light and a bit toned down in flavor. These types of pastries are a little more puff, than they are filling so its muted flavor is understandable. It was alright, but I prefer to go big and bold with my tastebuds. That's where the passion fruit entremet excels! It tastes exactly like it looks (if that makes sense). The passion fruit flavor is perfectly sweet and tart. The filling was just the right texture and and it is a stunningly aesthetic dessert 10/10! I also got to have some of my sister's raspberry tartlet which was refreshing and light. I think the biggest distinction about these desserts is that they are not "American sweet". It is likely catered to a more refined and elegant palette for sweets, but they do offer many other options including savory lunch dishes and coffee/tea. The patisserie is very elegant and beautiful, so you can take some nice pics while you enjoy your dining experience. I was in the area because of a gymnastics meet at the equestrian center and I will say it was quite difficult to find. I walked through and around the center meeting dogs and horses at every other turn. I believe there are 2 locations for Emma's and that could be where my confusion was in finding it. The location I went to was just next door to the toy store/hotel, and it's apparently a smaller one with less options. Regardless, I was able to secure the baked goods I wanted so I was happy about that. If you like your desserts not too sweet", then I think you'll enjoy this patisserie. read more

It's been dangerous horse showing at WEC because I'm always at Emma's! The pastries and desserts are all spectacular. I love the almond croissant. The filling is really tasty without an overbearing almond extract flavor. The chocolate almond croissant is good as well but I like the regular almond croissant better! The cakes are really good, particularly the mango / passion fruit ones. I'd highly recommend giving them a try! I also love that they serve La Colombe coffee. It seems like they used to serve Starbucks, so I am glad they made the change. read more

This bakery is outstanding! They make pastries the right way, and everything we tried was amazing. We sampled several items during our visit. The croissants were even better than what you'd find in Paris. The double fudge turtle brownie was over the top--so rich and delicious that I could only eat a quarter of it. We also bought several other treats to enjoy while wandering around the World Equestrian Center. So good! I go and pick up their plain croissants and then invariable try one of their sweets. They have so many over the top gorgeous & delicious baked goods. It's funny though when it comes to the sweets, it's their cinnamon sugared donut that I think about most often. The quiches are terrific! I often pick up one of those. The macarons definitely were hard to resist. The bakery here makes the giant cinnamon buns and donuts everyday. It's easy to see how you could gain a few pounds just from the bakery aroma in the air. They offer artsy boxes to carry your goodies home or take as a gift. They also sell Starbucks coffee and tea. I went here for the 1st time. everything looked great. bought the Boston Cream croissant, blueberry muffin and chocolate muffin. Sorry to say all was a waist of my money and it did cost. I may have missed it in the description that this was located in a hotel amidst a large equestrian center complex.... But upon arrival we were welcomed by staff and given a map to locate where we were trying to go. They were very friendly and hospitable at any location we went while there. The patisserie was packed and options were varied for those who wanted savory or sweet or a little of both. I was disappointed that the coffee offered was Starbucks (I was on the search for a more independent location) but at least it was consistent. We were told ahead of time about the wait for coffee/beverages (about 15 min) which was also disappointing but the guava and cheese pastry I purchased was good. Presentation of all items was impeccable. Taste was good but no one was raving about their items. I also purchased some macaroons to take home and they were also good but not to die for. It's a solid bakery/pastry shop. If we visit the hotel/center again I will return to try a different item. The store itself has no indoor seating in the store. There are several tables outside the store front inside the hotel and some outside the hotel as well. It was very busy but the staff was efficient and friendly overall. read more

Driving through Ocala, we stopped in to see the World Equestrian Center, and the beautiful hotel they have there. Besides the exquisite decor, we found Emma's, a fresh, elegant looking patisserie with the most beautiful treats and breakfast items ever! Every team member was gracious and provided excellent service with a smile, from answering questions, explaining options, asking how our visit was going, and delivering our scrumptious order. We enjoyed a Caramel Pecan Sticky Bun and hot chocolate. By the time I thought about photos, it was gone! Soft on the inside, super fresh, with a heavy, gooey, thick caramel topped with pecans. The taste was sweet without being too cloying, and complimented the pastry perfectly. I CANT WAIT to go back and take others to share this wonderful experience! My family went here about a week or so ago and we enjoyed Emma's Patisserie. It is conveniently located next to the toy store. There are a few tables for small groups outside of the cafe. There are pastries and they brew Starbucks coffee. As far as their selection, they seem to mostly have macarons, cakes and tarts. I enjoyed the tart I ate there. Very upscale decor and beautiful setting inside the World Equestrian Center. The Almond Croissant was flaky and a little sweet...the Mrs reported the Strawberry Creamcheese Danish was also topnotch! This was the first time either of us had tried Macaroons and they were outstanding, Blueberry...Strawberry, Chocolate, and Salted Carmel...all packed with flavor. Our favorite was the Salted Carmel. Very busy on Sunday morning. The floors are bright and nice white marble. But Be careful the floor is extremely slippery w slip ons. Maybe it's ok w sneakers. The fridge section is stocked w goodies. We were so blessed to have Yohann design the incredible cake for our wedding! During our meeting he made sure to understand our vision and made far beyond what we could have ever imagined. We were looking for a fun local coffee shop and bakery to visit while we were In Ocala and picked Emma's. As we drove there, through the countryside full of horse farms, I was starting to wonder what was up. Then, we went through these huge ornate gates and entered a massive equestrian resort. There was a RV park, multiple gigantic horse barns and gargantuan arenas, groups of people riding horses, folks zipping around in golf carts and much more. We followed our GPS and ended up at the entrance to a huge multi-story hotel with perfectly manicured grounds. I was like, "We are here!" as my wife was starting to doubt this unexpected journey. I said "I will go inside and find the bakery and get us some stuff!" Luckily, we found a rare parking space! The doorman let me in and the lobby was quite impressive. I wandered around, under dressed in shorts and a t-shirt. I explored at random for 10 minutes passing by restaurants and shops and 100's of pictures and paintings of horses on the walls. Suddenly, bam! I found Emma's and entered this sparkling and beautiful shop! The pastries were astoundingly stunning to view and the coffee was disappointingly Starbucks. No locally roasted beans here! Still, the service was very helpful and friendly and I picked a chocolate croissant, an amazing blackberry fruit tart with a purple edible flower on it and a massive guava and cheese croissant. A lady kindly boxed them for me and I ordered our coffees. The cost including tip was over $30 but I wasn't turning back now! The drinks were standard Starbucks. You likely know what that tastes like. The pastries were spectacular and worth the adventure! The coolest thing I saw there was a bling blinged sparkling bedazzled Kitchen Aid mixer! It was likely unique and incredible to see. Somehow, I will have to find out if they made it or bought it. I didn't think to ask but I did take a picture of it. Yum! My mouth waters even at the thought of the lovely sweets at Emma's. My favorite lemon tart is stupendous. Then I've tried the macaroons, the chocolate pastry and a few other tarts. They are beautifully presented, taste amazing and all in this little quaint show at the World Equestrian Center. Love this place. A fun little excursion for guests in town and family visits. In terms of quality of their baked goods, they're up there with the very best in the region, if not the entire state. They also have a great variety, ranging from delicate and fancy financier cakes to more-mundane but still delicious donuts. Service is prompt, considering they normally have quite a line awaiting treats, too. As to their prices, I think there's two ways of looking at that: one, they're in basically a resort setting at the Equestrian Center Hotel which is very posh and high-end, so I doubt people who own million-dollar horses bat an eye at these prices. On the other hand, they are higher-priced than their competition such as Gainesville's The Uppercrust. Rent for this spot is probably quite high, so it's fair I suppose. Do expect to spend a decent amount if buying more than one or two sweets, though. read more
