Hired Brian for paver sand-and-seal work and paid in full upon completion. What followed was weeks of back-and-forth trying to get him to return and inspect the job that his guys completed -- promises made, appointments scheduled, no-shows. After exhausting every reasonable attempt to resolve this directly, I had no choice but to hire a separate professional sealer to assess the work and have since initiated a formal complaint since the work was not done properly. If accountability and follow-through matter to you, look elsewhere. read more

This was the first time I employed That's A Wrap to clean, sand and seal my upper and lower backyard, patios and walkway, as well as my front walkway and front porch. I had obtained three estimates of which Brian was the only one who physically came to my home to give me a quote. The other two estimates were from other companies who did not come to my house, but estimated their quote based on viewing my house on Google Earth. Both were way off in the square footage of all my pavers combined. That's A Wrap was also offering a special Memorial Day weekend of 20% off. The crew came when they were supposed to come and worked very hard, especially in my backyard where there was a lot of calcium buildup between the joints due to too much polymeric sand applied by the previous company who cleaned and re-sanded my Paver's two years before. Getting the white calcium buildup from between the pavers I could see was a backbreaking job for the two-man crew as it had to be manually scraped out with a hand tool. The second part of the job was the sealing of the pavers which was to take place the next day or day after. On that morning Brian came to my house before the crew to look over the cleaning and re-sanding. He noticed a couple of spots that he wanted re-cleaned and he would advise the crew of that and be back later with the crew. First one crewmember came while waiting for the others and when I was talking to him, he did not speak English and was using a translator app on his phone. Then the second crewmember came and I was trying to explain to them what Brian had said about re- cleaning a couple of spots on the bullnose of the pool area and one other spot that I didn't know myself where it was, but they were unaware of where those spots were plus when they had cleaned the day before the crew had missed one section of my Paver wall that separates the upper and lower patios. I asked them to get Brian on the phone. They did and I asked him that I thought he was going to be coming here to meet the crew and they did not know anything about re-cleaning the bullnose and the other spot that Brian had pointed out directly to me that he wanted to redone. He asked me not to "micromanage" as the day before when they were doing the cleaning the job was supposed to take 5 1/2 hours, but took 10 hours. I told him that the crew worked very hard that day and it took a long time for them to scrape the calcium out from between the joints. He came a little while later with other crew members, and they sealed my patios and walkways, and they look absolutely beautiful !! I never thought that they would look this nice as they look better than they did when they were first installed 11 years prior because at that time they were never sealed. The sealing of my pavers give them a little shine and they look wet and I love it. I highly recommend That's A Wrap and I would certainly use them again in the future. As with any other contractor, there are always a few bumps that need to be adjusted and they were to my complete satisfaction with That's A Wrap. read more

I don't know why my review came up California. the terrible detailing job was I Babylon So, let me start by saying I have been using that's a wrap for several years and recommended them to several friends. I even wrote a great review a few years ago. last year my boat came out terrible covered in dark swirl marks (white boat). I called the office and they sent there top guy out and he agreed it was not done properly at all. He told me some of their guys quit and they hired new. he said he would send someone to fix it. they said they redid the boat but it looked the same. when I spoke to the owner he said the boat is a year older and that's it. BTW the owner never even came to see it. I paid a new detailer and it came out fAntarctic. I was very disappointed after being a long time customer that the owner of the company could not be bothered to at least come and see the boat. so for me That's a wrap read more

BEWARE ---NEVER HIRE 'THAT'S A WRAP" IN MOUNT SINAI, NY FOR ANYTHING!!!.......... Brian Defina - the Owner of That's a Wrap and his crew arrived at my home to shrink wrap our boat. A few weeks after the cover was installed, I found they had tied the nylon webbing thru the deck hawse, wrapping around our brand-new coaming cover indenting the coaming bolster. I immediately contacted Brian and he tried to persuade me to leave it until springtime. Anyone who knows anything about upholstery or properly covering a boat knows that 1. You don't tighten the webbing around the coaming cover and 2. if you leave the webbing tied for that many months around the coaming, it will result in permanent indentation and damage to the upholstery. I immediately realized that he had no idea what he was doing, nor did he care about his customers, when he also refused to come out in person to inspect the damages. I proceeded to immediately removed the webbing from the coaming bolster and brought the coaming to my upholsterer who was able to repair the coaming bolster. When I informed Brian that my upholsterer was able to repair the damage to the coaming - his response was "Good". No - I'll compensate you for the repair cost - nothing!! This was a clear indicator of the unprofessional person and subpar businessman Brian Defina is - and I hoped to never have to deal with him again. I decided to more closely inspect the job - and found that there were multiple areas where the unskilled installation crew burnt through the cover - clearly overheating the plastic to a point where there were numerous patches in the cover where there were patches were taped over all the burned/melted cover areas. On top of that - we found that the crew had used a hand saw to cut the wood supports for the cover - but cut the wood on the trailer - damaging he trailer!!! I hoped that all would be OK when I removed the cover in the Spring - but unfortunately, that was not the case. After removing the cover - I was able to clearly see the extent of the damages directly caused by the burning of shrink wrapping. Brian and his crew had burned a 12x14 hole in the cover to such an extent that it burned and melted the rub rail and gelcoat on the boat. The damages were so bad that the shrink wrap cover was melted onto the boat. It was very visible, and it became immediately evident that Brian and his crew knew full well that they had damaged my boat but decided to hide the fact by applying a patch over the damaged area with the hope that they would get away with causing the damage. Unbelievable!!! I immediately contacted Brian. Typical of the unprofessional person that Brian is - he refused to come out and inspect his shoddy and disastrous workmanship in person. Any self-respecting business Owner - who truly valued his customers, and his reputation, would have immediately come out to look at the damages. It was only after sending photos/images of the damages - that Brian admitted- in writing - that he and his company were responsible for the damages. I asked Brian to provide his commercial insurance carrier information so I could have our boat repaired to "pre-incident" condition. Brian refused to relinquish his insurance carrier information - as he was "concerned that his premium would increase" ...leading me to doubt whether he really had/has business/liability insurance or perhaps a very high deductible or has had so many previous claims against him that he could not afford to submit one more claim to his carrier. Brian agreed to pay for the repair directly - based upon an estimate from a certified repair facility. After I sent Brian the estimate - he delayed for months then he ultimately declined to pay. I therefore had to contact my insurance carrier to get the boat properly repaired who ultimately subrogated against Brian and "That's a Wrap" and successfully recouped the cost of the repair. read more

I had my boat shrink wrapped and during the process they burned the boot stripe with the heat gun damaging it. I noticed as soon as they left. I shot a bunch of photos and sent them to the boss. Within an hour the foreman responded back to look at the damage, he apologized and advised they would be in touch. They never called. I reached out and he said they would come by to look at it and said he would make it right. Never showed up. I have been texting every 2 weeks for the last 4 months, every time I'm told this week and nobody shows up. Accidents happen I get that, but own it, being blown off for 4 months is unacceptable. Do yourself a favor and use someone who stands behind their work, not these guys. read more

My family used to use a different company to wrap our outdoor furniture and gazebo but come spring we noticed they had scratched everything, and snow and rain had got inside the gazebo because they didn't wrap the bottom. This year we decided to go with That's a Wrap Shrink Wrapping as a recommendation from a friend. They were very friendly and personable! They treated everything as if it were their own. They even put plastic in between the furniture to prevent scratching and they sealed the bottom of our gazebo so that nothing blew inside it. What a big difference from who we have used in the past! Just had them wrap my boat in my driveway recently. I was very happy with the results and the quality of the materials and workmanship. It rained on the scheduled day but they were there as soon as possible afterward. Price was very reasonable and they didn't up charge for supplies like wood and vents. If I had one issue to comment on it would be that they didn't take the waste wrapping with them but put it in my garbage can (is this recyclable?), otherwise they cleaned up perfectly. I will most definitely use them again next year. read more
