Port Jeff Motorcycle Store

I've been shopping in this store for years. They first started their Port Jefferson business in a…read moresmall shop by the water. Great selection of Motorcycle tee shirts, sweatshirts, Jewelry, Helmets as well as authentic Harley Davidson gifts. When I was riding, I bought an authentic black motorcycle jacket here, like the one Ah-nuld wore in The Terminator! Great store and I'm proud of their expansion in Port Jefferson on Main St.

Rude and unprofessional owner. I saw the owner outside of…read morethe store and politely asked him a simple question about the street parking, since I'm not familiar with the area. The sign said "1 hour parking 8am-8pm," and I wasn't sure if that meant free or paid/meter parking. Instead of answering respectfully, the owner responded with extreme rudeness and arrogance. He snapped back: "Can't you read the sign? It says 1 hour free parking." When I replied that the sign does not say "free," he told me: "Get out of here." First of all, the sign clearly says only "1 hour parking," nowhere does it say "free." Second, as a business owner myself, I was shocked at his attitude. The way he spoke to me was unnecessarily nasty, arrogant, and dismissive. That one encounter was enough for me to decide never to support this business. I treat others with respect and kindness, and expect the same in return; especially from someone representing a business. To think I was about to walk inside and make a purchase!Thank goodness I didn't. I'd much rather support businesses that are welcoming, respectful, and professional. Ken, this was not only rude but also very poor business ethics. If this is how you treat potential customers, it says a lot about your character and your business.
