I went to the Crofton Farmers Market, where SBL usually is a vendor. I ordered a few cupcakes and decorated cookies. Whew! They were all excellent! I knew I had chosen the right bakery for my specialty cookies. Side Note: they have a chocolate chip cookie dough cupcake that's to DIE FOR! On the day of the tea party, I stopped by the business to pick up my treats. Fun cake pops, chocolate chip and sugar cookies were all in my order. SBL is a home based bakery, so I picked my order up from the family home. The woman that met me at the door was so nice. Just a pleasant encounter from start to finish. The cookies themselves were absolutely perfect! My vision came to life! They not only looked beautiful, they were very delish! I immediately receive an automatic reply, letting me know that my request was received and that I could expect to hear back within 2 to 3 business days. Leah exceeded that expectation and actually got back to me within 24 hours. In her response Leah explained her plan and vision, based on the add-ons that I wanted, and even showed me how an element of our theme that I did not know how to incorporate could work on the cake. She sent back and forth examples to really narrow in the vision and provide guidance. Leah even went above and beyond to accommodate an early pick-up time since we were heading out of town with the cake. She was extremely accommodating to our special request for the cake details and the accompanying cupcakes we ordered, and consistently professional and responsive the entire time through. The final product was gorgeous and DELICIOUS. All of our guests (and us) were raving over and over about how good the cake was. So moist, great flavor, and just perfect. We had arranged to pick up the order on the morning of the event. When my cousin and I arrived on time, we found Stacey still in the process of preparing the order. As we waited, I noticed ants crawling around the box of cupcakes. At first, I thought I was mistaken, but upon closer inspection, I found another one. I immediately brought this to my cousin's attention and then alerted Stacey. Instead of addressing the issue professionally, she began yelling and using offensive language. Although she apologized and offered to remake the order. I accepted but then as soon as I left her establishment I sent her a text to declined as I was too disgusted and frustrated to accept anything from her store. In my text I expressed my concern about the health and sanitation issue and requested a full refund. However, she only acknowledged my message late that evening, stating that she was already remaking the order and would discard the original. I responded professionally, reiterating my request for a refund to be issued to my card. She confirmed that the refund had been processed and that I would receive an email confirmation. Subsequently, I waited for five days while the transaction was pending, only to find out yesterday that she had retracted the charge. I immediately sent her another text urging her to rectify the issue as soon as possible, but I have neither heard back from her nor seen any sign of the refund being reissued. I find this level of unprofessionalism completely unacceptable, especially in the food business where there are potential health risks. Stacey should have taken accountability for the situation. Not only was I out of the money for the original order, but I also had to spend more money to purchase a cake at the last minute. In light of my experience, I strongly advise against doing business with her. This whole situation has been utterly disgusting and unacceptable.
