Great location looking over old forge, cute grass growing along the edges of the bar, something different. That being said, rude bartender, dirty ashtrays, tables. The season hasn't even really started and already the staff here seem ready to be done which put a damper on the total experience. Shame because it has good bones. read more

We thought this was a fun spot and they're actually an attachment to Tony Harper's for take out. We got their prime rib steak subs for lunch and came out piping hot within 20 min. You'll order downstairs in the cafe and pick up there as well. We waited up at the sky top which is a fun spot to see Old Forge from above. Good prices for drinks and sit anywhere you want. Overall a great spot to check out while staying in Old Forge. read more

After a day of bike riding and shopping stopped here for a drink. Sky Bar very very nice. Love that they have grass, couches and tables all around. Like being in a back yard. Drinks were excellent and the price was so reasonable. Wonderful place to sit, talk and unwind with friends. Oh and we just missed a live 2 man band, damn. Would definitely go again and next time also order food. read more

Fun spot with a cool view. Came in for lunch with my wife after kayaking in the area and enjoyed ourselves. They have a nice draft beer selection and a good menu. I had their cheesesteak, which was good and my wife had their fried scallops and was happy with her meal as well. The staff was friendly and helpful. We really liked to roof top seating and bar. They have a nice variety of seating - some at the bar, some at tables, others at a small bar that runs mostly around the perimeter of the rooftop section. Made a stop here on a recent motorcycle trip to Lake George. Weather was gray and gloomy but the staff at this rooftop bar made you forget all that. Extremely upbeat and friendly! I had asked for a cucumber vodka with soda water. When I got it it was pretty strong and blah... We asked the bartender to remake or add a little lemonade and she did .. no questions asked! You can sit all around the outside of the roof top and see out at the landscape. It's beautiful and I'm sure would be even nicer on a sunny day. read more

Pretty awesome, unique spot to come to for drinks. You're on the rooftop overlooking the entire town and get some nice views of the Adirondacks. They somehow are able to maintain a lawn, which is cool, but muddy in some areas. As you can imagine, this place is a hit and will be crowded, with all tables full. read more

Blown away! I have never seen anything like this bar anywhere. Such a refreshing add to Old Forge. Rooftop bar with surrounding grass and a great view. There is plenty of seating and I love that they not only have stools and chairs but also lounging chairs! Worried about being cold at night up there? No worries! They have heat lamps surrounding the bar to keep you warm. Single gender bathrooms are also on the same floor. Comes with a dart board, great bartenders to talk to and an awesome crowd. This bar is meant for all types and ages of people. I brought my mom and dad here for an after dinner drink and then came back later with a group of friends. Not a huge beer selection but they have a good variety. I can't speak to the food. My 4 stars is just based on how COOL this place is!!! It's bigger than I expected, lots of seating, and the views of the street and lake are great. But what really sold me was the grass! Yes, there is real dirt and grass on this rooftop bar! So cool. Some nights they have corn hole and drinking games. We weren't there for one of those nights but I bet it's a blast. read more

Sorry, but the food was awful. They had "poutine" on their menu, well I travel Quebec extensively every year and know what poutine is. This stuff would have made any native Quebecer puke. I was soggy fries with mozzarella cheese and Heinz jarred gravy. gross. We saw several other orders being sent back while we were there. Chicken sandwich fried to a crackly crunch, dryer than a cracked lip. Wait staff could care less. Spend your money elsewhere. read more

The only roof top bar in town (maybe in a 100 mile radius). Got three beers for $11! Heating lamps, lounge chairs, outdoor furniture and real grass all on a roof top! It's brand new; this is its first summer being open! You can pretty much see the whole town from up here! - that was my original review. Now the update - I wrote the above when I first got here. It was a premature review. This place has slow to non-existent bar service, the bathrooms looked like more pee made it on the floor than in the toilet and the women's room toilet was clogged. This bar is not packed and all they do is serve the same 3 groups of people and ignore everyone else. I waited at the bar for 5 minutes and was ignored; so was my girlfriend's father. This place needs a lesson in customer service. NYC is supposed to be rude but you get better service at a dive bar in NYC than this place. Go to Tow bar! read more

Not sure how the drinks or food is here as I couldn't get anyone to take my money. I stood at the bar for 10 minutes, but none of the 3 bartenders even looked my way. I get it, it's 4th of July weekend so it's the busiest time of year, but there were empty seats at the bar. Put table service up there if the bartenders can't handle a fairly full bar. Stayed the weekend in Old Forge with some friends from high school. Great view of the town from here. Began the evening with a few drinks, service was solid. Planned on staying for a few drinks, ended up drinking long after the sun was down. Must see if in Old Forge. Most importantly, there's grass on the roof. read more

We were staying near Eagle Bay for a wedding, but due to the limited restaurants, we decided to drive over to Old Forge for lunch. There were so many options, but we ultimately chose the 46 Lounge & Sky Bar, because of the awesome view overlooking the town. When we made it up to the top we were thoroughly impressed with the views and all of the seating arrangements on the perimeter, not just at the bar. It was also cool to see actual grass up there. We walked over to the bar and saw that there was no waitress service, or menus, you just had to look at the little chalkboard, pick something to eat and order at the bar. Unfortunately, there weren't many options (like maybe 5 total), so we settled on grilled chicken sandwiches ($5.95 each). When we received our food, I was a little baffled and shocked by not only the presentation, but also the lack of what we received. On an oversized platter, was a sandwich wrapped up in tin foil - something like you would receive at a drive-thru. The sandwich was decent, but again it was literally just a piece of grilled chicken with lettuce and mayo on a bun. I had to ask for hot sauce, and got Tabasco and doused the entire sandwich in it to add some flavor. Some bbq sauce or something would've gone well. I was just surprised that they delivered a sandwich wrapped in tin foil on a large platter. Where were the fries, chips, maybe a pickle?!?! What the heck. We left and were still hungry and dissatisfied. We went back into town and got a hot dog. I guess it's worth coming here for the view and drinks, but don't bring your appetite. read more

If you can get the bartenders to wait on you, it's a miracle. I waited 15 minutes and never even got eye contact. Two bartenders on the same side of the bar serving the same people over and over. Guess they don't need my business! Ladies room was clogged and they want everyone to use the men's room. To bad this would be a nice place to have a few drink, but we went to the Tow Bar! read more

Great location and the bar service was Ok. Unfortunately, food service has been subpar both times there. Last season but they were busy and we understood. Again today, when they were not busy. We ended up with no food after waiting 50 minutes. They really need to work on this. Customer service doesn't seem to exist here. read more
