Best nightclub in Syracuse for YEARS! Amazing Bartenders and Security. The DJs play great mixes to dance to. Really the only place you can rely on for a good time within an hour radius. Ive been going to Trexx on and off whenever I'm in the area, since 1998/99 and have been to some if THE BEST Halloween parties in the entire State of New York! I will admit its been several years (maybe a decade) since I was there last , and ai know things change but Ive only had 1 negative experience there and it was MY FAULT not the establishment. I don't know if its changed hands since then but I used to know the owners, and they were very cordial and welcoming ever single time regardless of the amount of patrons or event. Ive had some of the best times of my life when I was younger at this place. I wish I had a picture of one of these "best times" but all I can say is One was called "Bubble Halloween " (several of these actually) and the other was called "Welcome to Bat Country" by GetBent! Ive seen the place back when the doors were by the outdoor patio and others when they had a lounge in the back which was the front door last time I went. Im not sure what its become but I can say it was THE PLACE for electronic music with the BEST DJ's in Upstate New York. So many fond memories of mine happened in there. Lol. I miss those times. For being known as a "gay" bar, trexx really isn't too exclusive!! My friend just moved here from a different country to live her truth as a transgender women. Security ripped her out of the bathroom and told her to go to the men's bathrooms. It's upsetting to see my friends come to America to live their truth, and then be treated as such. Mind you, ever girl in the bathroom already felt the same way I felt. Going to gay club/ bar should be a place where everyone can live their truth and be who they are. My friend was very respectful and felt embarrassed to make anyone feel uncomfortable (no one felt uncomfortable except for the security guard). But this is not how I expected her to be treated at a club that is known for being a gay club and welcome anyone, no matter their gender identity. You're gross trexx. Do better. read more

awful experience. the security was rude and completely man handled me for having a cup of ice (that had no alcohol in it) and claimed i was underage drinking. threw me out without even checking when i asked them to check multiple times because the guard was on a power trip. the owner simply watched as i was aggressively pushed, shoved, grabbed, along with a girl that was defending and speaking up for me. never in my life have i been disrespected more. read more

I used to like it here, great music on Thursday nights, people are generally enthusiastic and friendly. The drinks are made well and there are some good drink specials. I know they are very good with monitoring underage drinking and will not hesitate to kick you out if they catch you. I stopped going because we noticed a group of guys filming me and my friends dancing and the guys refused to stop filming us. The men looked very unkept and unprofessional and they had a giant video camera. I talked with the management and they said that the men were making a "documentary" and Trexx was allowing the men to film customers in the dancing area. We were never informed that anyone was filming and we did not give consent to be filmed. The Trexx employees didn't seem to care, would not give us our money back for admissions, and we quickly left. read more

I tried this place out looking for a more trendy dance club. This is a kind of cool place with neat lights and a DJ booth. On the night I went there was a drag queen show. There wasn't much of a crowd so I asked when the crowd shows up. I was told that some people do not like the show so they show up later. Well, the show started an hour late and ran, with 1 break, for over 3 hours... that's a 4+ hour show. I left before it ended and I am pretty sure the place would close before the show ended. The show was ok at first but soon became long and arduous. The people there didn't seem all that "into it" and the entertainers kept badgering people to go to the stage and to clap for them. They badgered and badgered and it just didn't end, so I finally left. Had a well drink and it didn't taste too good but when I found out that the small plastic cup of soda I ordered at first cost more than the drink, I made the switch. Really? take a soda and add booze and the price goes down? Take a lawyer here to get through the pricing. When I asked the bartender about it he said I could complain to the owner, but it wouldn't help. lol Oh well, I think if they got rid of the show and let people interact a bit this place could be fun. I liked the lights and the music was't bad, bit it was a bit loud. I would estimate that half of the people were in the outdoor smoking area. This seems to be very popular. Great time, areas to dance, hangout and even shoot pool. The staff was friendly and for pride the bar was open till 4. More men than women, there were contests including best tattoo and underwear. read more

Its not the classiest place in town that is for sure. But the music is usually good, they are very accepting of all races/genders, etc. The drinks are cheap and I have never felt judged there like I have at other places in town. Just a good place to go with friends to dance. read more

Stopped by on a Friday night around 11:00PM. Entered the club and paid the $5.00 cover (after the cashier noticed me and put down his phone). Proceeded to the main area where there were 4 patrons. Once the bar tender noticed me standing at the bar (after a good minute or so), she also put her phone down and finally asked me what I wanted. For a city such as Syracuse (an I am well travelled) the drink price is rather high, especially considering that there is a cover. My overall impression was that nobody wanted to be there; the staff seemed particularly lethargic, as if they'd rather be attending a funeral.. After about a half hour a few more people walked in. The crowd was quite young, mostly girls. The clothing patrons were wearing was curious, as if it was time to play dress up - dress up in very poor taste; I mean, not flattering at all and a blind eye turned towards matching colors. The amount makeup the girls were wearing made me wonder if Syracuse is the largest consumer of cheap makeup in the US. After another 15-20 minutes a couple more people showed up, perhaps 15 in all by 11:40PM. It was, yet more people that seemed like they didn't want to be there. The conversations people were having generally focused around how miserable their life is and very tasteless gossip about "friends." I would not recommend this club, at least on a Friday night. I don't think I'd ever go back voluntarily. Perhaps if a friend dragged me there I might blend in better, seeming as if I didn't want to be there. read more
