My review is based on just one beer... so if your looking for a review on food, you'll have to wait until I decide to eat. It was a rainy day in De Pere, so I decided to go for a beer at a local pub. The Abbey is fun, it's like an English pub on American steroids. Considering the signage, I'm assuming the Abbey caters to college students from the College across the street. If your middle aged perhaps visiting during the day would be better (when I visited) or during the early evening. If your looking for a bar with a blast... Abbey is it!!!! read more

Amazing food specials during the week. Legitimate $1 dollar burgers on Monday, 25 cent wings on some day. $5 twelve inch pizza on another day. Really Good beer selection. Had very rare local beers. Very clean inside. Bartender I had was a very nice guy. I really like this place. read more

My husband and I went and ate at the Abbey on Friday. It was not very busy. We went into one door but my husband couldn't get through because he is in a wheelchair so we went to the other door and were lost because no one would help us on where we had to go and sit. Finally a bartender help doesn't Totus to find a seat anywhere. The waitress came right away and was very friendly and helpful. My husband ordered a Reuben and I ordered the Archie burger. My husband had ordered extra sauerkraut and he was glad that he did there was very little on there at all. My burger was very good but messy we were never given silverware and the french fries have potato skins on them they were very good. The soda could've been a little better you could taste that there was an off taste with the water that is used. All in all it was a good experience and I would return. read more

In town for work and a local recommended this place. Seemed like a good bar to hang out on the weekend and watch a game. The beer was cheap but the bartender did not seem very friendly. I had the Abbey Burger and Wisconsin cheese nuggets (nothing special). read more

Staying at the Kress Inn and grabbed lunch to-go, and it was fantastic! Pleasantly surprised with how perfectly cooked and tasty everything was (chicken and rice soup, Italian hoagie, Santa Fe chicken wrap, and the fries were all awesome). read more

The Chili Con Queso and the French Fries were delicious. Unfortunately the rest of the meal didn't stand up. My husband ordered the Lonestar Burger, which sounds like it would be full of smokey goodness. Surrounded by BBQ and Bacon, the blandness of the burger was still overwhelming. Perhaps they should ask if we would like our meat seasoned. Yes please. If that wasn't enough, it was served on Texas Toast that was untoasted. Here, enjoy your burger on two slices of bread. The fish on the English Fish and Chips was average. I wish they had malt vinegar, but that's my fault for not asking. The ketchup on the table has been married too many times. We tried pulling it from another table and that was terrible too. Between two choices, we picked The Abbey, but I wish we would have gone to the other place instead. read more

It's all right. The burgers are nice and the cheese curds aren't bad. I would recommend it for anyone who has never been or looking for a venue with decent space for a small, private party. The upper floor is nicely tucked away from the main floor for such events. read more

Greeted by a super rude bartender , who poured my drink wrong, which was an easy layered beer. She was sloppily intoxicated and took her an abnormal amount of time pouring two beers. The beers have been warm the past 3 times I have visited and it is evident that they do not clean their taps, as their beers have a sour taste to them. Stopped here for dinner while on a work trip. The service was rough. The waitress was nice but didn't seem knowledgeable. My colleague asked how the fish was and her reply was "I don't know". We ordered the cheese curds for an appetizer which were tasty. I ordered the Buffalo Chicken Wrap. The wrap was fresh and tasty. The fries were plain but hot and crispy. My colleague ordered a salad which I thought was a risky move at a bar. But it was bright, fresh and he said very good. Quite large portions and reasonable prices. read more

Always advertising for a cook. What does that tell you? Food ok. Beer lines need to be cleaned better.

The food is disgusting my parents had ordered fish fry's and our waiter brought them fish sandwiches that the breading was spicy and some kind of sauce on the inside and the fish raw, the ends of the fish were hard and burnt. I ordered a Portobello melt sandwich and it said that it was supposed to have balsamic vinaigrette dressing on it but when I received it and tried it, it was like they soaked it in balsamic vinaigrette dressing overnight. I couldn't even take more than a few bites out of it because I almost got sick my side order of sweet potato fries were under cooked and not by a little bit they had no color too them like there supposed to. Sweet potato fries are supposed to be dark in color anywheres else you receive them and mine were absolutely not. I wouldn't recommend this place at all to anyone and I would never return here again. The only thing that was good was our waiter he was nice and it wasn't his fault that our food was nasty and disgusting. read more

Been to The Abbey many times, but it had been awhile since our last visit. When it is nice out we enjoy sitting on the balcony over looking the road. Service and beer were good, but really disappointed in the food this time. Quality and quantity were both very disappointing. Probably won't be returning. read more

Do I have to give 1 star? Terrible service and terrible food. Don't go to the restaurant side thinking you're going to get restaurant quality. We took my mom out for dinner for her birthday and wanted to try something local and different. Bad idea. It wasn't busy when we went, that was probably the first red flag. We came in, sat down, eventually the waitress came over, she didn't offer us a high chair for our toddler, so my husband went and found one for us. We ordered our food, my husband first got his food, then we had to wait a bit longer for our food. Finally our pizza arrived. The waitress asked us if we wanted plates or something...uh DUH. The waitress was like yeah, I'll bring those salads out in a minute, minutes turned to a half hour. When she finally brought them out, she had them all stacked up on each other and we were about ready to leave at that point. We had already eaten our main course. What annoyed us the most was another couple came in after us, had a different waitress that actually acted like a waitress, didn't forget about them, and brought out their food on time way before we even got ours. You could hear the employees in the back fluffing off. Oh, to complete the whole shitty experience, our order was wrong. Whatever. read more

I am a college student and this is right across the street from campus so my 4 person family and I ventured to The Abbey on a weeknight to see what people were talking about. I heard it was a little pricey but I also heard the food was good and the atmosphere was fun. We arrived, waited 10 minutes for our drinks to be taken, another 5 to receive them, and then 15 minutes in we finally placed our orders. All this was done in an EMPTY RESTAURANT! There was no reason we shouldn't have been waited on immediately, but I'll get on with the rest of the story. We waited 20 minutes for our burgers and wraps, and when we got our food after being in the restaurant for 35 minutes, my mom was told that her steak sandwich would take a little while longer. 10 minutes later, she received her completely burnt steak sandwich and a handful of crumbled fries. She complained to the waitress and got her meal stricken from the bill but the rest of our food and drinks amounted to $40. 3 people's food & drink cost $40 at a restaurant that we waited a combined 40 minutes for. Never going back again. read more
