Came here for dinner while i was in town. Sat at the bar. They had live music this night so that was a plus. They have several beers on tap. Ordered a reuben sandwich with onion rings. The reuben was really good. Those onion rings those were lacking. I should of just ordered fries to be honest. The service was good as well. read more

This place was convenient to the hotel I was staying at. I decided rather than drive somewhere I would just walk over. Seating is really weird, you walk to the center of the restraunt to the hostess stand, then they seat you. I ordered an unsweet iced tea. This is not brewed tea, but that stuff that comes from the soda fountain. I can't stand that stuff. On Monday they have a wing special. I asked how many wings and was told 11-15. I asked if I could get all flats, I had to explain to the server what flats were, he said they were all flats. I have had dental work that makes eating the drimettes difficult so I pay for the flats. When the wings arrived with 8 wings and 2-3 of them were flats. I chose not to wait and picked the meat off with a fork. They were way overcooked, no juice left in the chicken at all. I had to order a second round, but this time got boneless. The servers inexperience had a lot to do with the service I am sure but the quality if the food was very bad. Such a bad review, why 2 stars? The restraunt was very efficient, everything came quickly and the prices were very reasonable. To bad the food was so bad. read more

We were looking for a place near our hotel while staying in town for the night to help family with a house project the next day. We wanted something a bit casual, upbeat, not too expensive, and fairly quick. Tanners was all of these plus good food and friendly help. We will likely go back again sometime. read more

Had lunch on 9/19/25 @ 11am. First customer of the day. I ordered a bowl of chili 'loaded' and a grilled chicken salad. Nearly positive chili was packaged and it was very bland, 'loaded' consisted of 4 dices of onion a sprinkle of shredded cheese and prepackaged sour cream - won't be getting that again. The salad was ok portion wise, for a lunch menu but the 4 pieces of chicken stripe were cold and again, very bland. Service was good(no one was there yet). Went in for a beer and appetizer trying to avoid a large meal. Ended up waaay over ordering, their apps are very generous. And delicious. So good we went back the next night. Atmosphere: Sports bar environment with high top tables and booths. Lots of seating. Big screen TVs with sports on. Quite a bit of parking in the lot which was nice. Service: Greeted right away when walking in. Efficient server that was knowledgeable about the menu. Food came out fast too. Food: Standard bar food (pizza/wings/burgers/wraps/fried apps). We ordered the app basket and the boneless wings. The sauces on the wings was really good. The boneless wings had a lot of breading on them but they were juicy on the inside. The app basket was standard prepackaged frozen to fried food. The chips in the app basket were a bit thick and needed salt. Drinks: Beers were nice and cold, decent list of options to choose from. This place is close by and I'm going to be going back to try more items off the menu, maybe some of their other items aren't prepackaged frozen and have a bit more flavor. I am a visitor to Appleton and was absolutely starving when I arrived late at night. Tanner's was one of the few places still serving food when I called at 10 minutes to closing time. They were very kind and promised to put my order in right at closing so it would be fresh when I arrived. I over ordered as I usually do, but I wanted to make sure to post pictures because I noticed there's not many of the food and I thought this nice establishment deserved more visuals. they are right in front of two very large hotels so probably would be convenient for other late arrivals . They stop serving food at 10 PM although yelp says they're open until midnight, that is true only of the bar area. It was quiet with a few folks hanging out and chatting in a very comfortable way so clearly this place is popular with locals. Chloe, who originally answered the phone was super nice and Steve, who was manning the bar/kitchen service was also very kind and attentive. All in all I would recommend this as a homey and friendly place to come. read more

If you're looking for a place to drink and know you will probably get hungry this is a good place to go. Mostly this is a bar, not much on the grill. It's in the parking lot (almost) of the Fairfield Inn in Appleton so as a traveler might think this is a great option. You'll quickly realize this is a local bar hang out. The menu has a lot of choices. I had the French dip and the meat was wayyy over seasoned and overcooked. The bartender was very nice. Probably a fun place to go drink. If you have kids with you or are looking for a high quality meal, pick something else. read more

We randomly stopped in on the way home & were confused by sign that said to see bar hostess for seating. We did not see any servers among the tables. She yelled to the kitchen to send out a server out for the family in front of us, so we thought she would seat us next--no, bar lady yelled to kitchen for a second server. That was strange. We did order an appetizer & 2 sandwiches. The spinach/artichoke dip basket was huge--a meal to itself! Tenderloin sammie was swimming in fried onions, so scraped most off. Bacon with bleu cheese sammie was excellent--very thick bacon & large chunks of cheese--yummm! If they had had servers at least out front it would have been better, but yelling back to the kitchen for help made us question if we will return. The place seemed more like a grimy bar with worn seating & multiple arcade games & less like a restaurant to willfully go to for a meal. read more

Let me start with if I could give zero stars I would have. I had the buffalo chicken wrap that was more like water balloon... there was so much mayonnaise and buffalo sauce in there that I had to pour it out before each bite. I was really hungry but could only stomach a 1/4 of it. My girlfriend had the chicken tenders that were burnt... how do you even do that? They cook to time in the fryer...don't get me started on the appearance of the staff and level of service...this location will clearly not be in business long. We went here after a few hours of going to rummage sales, it's very clean and servers where nice one of very few places I've been in a long time that I didn't have 3 or more different ones so I was happy about that. We had the soft pretzels they where so good, my husband had a hamburger and I had a turkey, tomato, lettuce, mayo, bacon sandwich I don't think I would get it again it was ok, it was huge I did have to bring the rest of it home the same went for my husbands burger. A lively Saturday night, not too crowded, sports bar with 80s and 90s rock music. They have very good Teriyaki bone-in chicken wings and an average gourmet burger made from frozen commercial patties thrown on the grill (down rated 1 star). 4/5 Rating. Bone-in Teriyaki Chicken wings with a baked-in mild teriyaki glaze. 100% better tasting as compared to the quickie teriyaki, liquid, squirt, sauce on 2 minute prepared B Wild Wings down the street. Tanner's is wings are meatier (see carry-out comparison photo). Tanners has no desert so I included a direct Wing taste test that night because B Wild Wings had a desert on their menu that I stopped by to get. 3/5 Mushroom Madness Gourmet Burger - Excellent buns, lathered mushrooms, Swiss and American cheese and liquid cheese barely hid an otherwise non-gourmet frozen food tasting, cooked beef patty. Overall, average sports bar, little kids and family are mostly at the BWW bar & grill down the street. The entrance foyer may be smokey. It is an inadvertent smoker lobby on a cold day that the other competition does not have. Moderately loud music, I did not hear any of the TV sports games. Good service. I think during home played Green Bay Packers games you can schedule a party bus pickup that leaves there. Plenty of parking. read more

Had the spinach artichoke dip as an appetizer. There needs to be a mass media announcement state wide not to order this absolute tragedy of of a dish. It was soup like, and barely stayed on the chips that were served w it. I had food poisoning once from bad Chilean sea bass, and I'd rather eat the sea bass again then even consider the dip as a option. Side not. I am marked safe from vampires as the amount of garlic in the dip is making it hard to taste anything. I'm on old fashioned number 8 and I still can't get the garlic taste out of my mouth. If I wake up tomorrow I am going to make a dental appointment and see if the can make me a new mouth.
