My friend and I hopped over to the Admiral's Cup for drinks after perhaps one too many at Alexander's right up the street on a Friday night. It was a fun crowd -- they had a great band playing and the crowd was certainly older (oh god, when did the post-college working crowd become "old"?) and no one was obnoxiously drunk. The bar was 2 or 3 deep and the bartenders were clearly overwhelmed, but they did the best they could. I will definitely be back! read more

I'm not ready to rate this place but this is too long to leave as a comment so I'm keeping it at a 3. I have mixed feelings about this place. The location is awesome. Service is fast & live music is wonderful. My only big downer is that you cannot leave your drink unattended for more than a minute maybe two otherwise it will get thrown away. Regardless of how much is still left in the cup, that thing will get thrown away so fast. God forbid you want to talk with a friend or if you want to dance to the music. The bartender (who is the culprit) is willing to give you another drink if you can get his attention. It's just annoying. Hold on to your drink people!!! read more

This place is somewhere between 3 and 3.5 stars. Three of us sat outside on a Tuesday night. There was pretty much no one else there when we got there. The beer and wine list was decent and everything was 1/2 price for happy hour (except the beer flight). We ordered the lamb sliders to share - the sauce was excellent, the meat was overdone and chili, which was standard and good. My Bo Brat, which sounded super interesting could have used more Argentinian chimichurri but was decent. My husbands pulled pork sandwich was very good. We didn't get any dessert. The service was very good. Our server was helpful and friendly. Overall, its just another Baltimore pub but they have decent food and good drink selection. read more

I've gone here every now and then when I'm in Fells Point. Although they have lots of beer on tap, I've found that the staff are very uninviting and it's often a struggle to enjoy the atmosphere because of how overcrowded and loud it can be. Koopers, Max's, the Point, the Horse, Riptide, Todd Conners... all superior places IMO. read more

Loved it! Their local craft beer selection is great, and if you're not sure what you want, the bartenders make great suggestions. They'll let you taste test if you ask nicely =) Everyone was super friendly, and both of the bands were great! One visit this last weekend: On entry the place looked a bit vacant -- 7 30 or so PM, but a solo guitar player was there and he was excellent. So we stayed in the dinner area over on the left of the entry way. At 9:30 Black Falls band came on and their mid-80's covers and other presentations were superb. Food was okay for a bar establishment in the Fell's Point area (there are great restaurants there but none that I know of with live music at this level). The server we have was very helpful, fun, and competent. She answered questions about the group, the "Cup," and both musical groups. This will be a go-to destination for our next visit when we can time it for Black Falls or another group of this caliber. Obviously, this location on the corner of Thames and the harbor is part of the "tourist" area -- but they do it well without being "divey" and disrespectful of people coming to the city. f8 and be there. read more

Just another cookie cutter Baltimore pub . Menu was boring and it seems like theres simplicity to where a cook on a hotplate with a microwave can do all the work. in fact the chocolate cake dessert was microwave cooked ! 12 bucks for a chicken sandwich with optional potato chips.. the limited menu could use some serious work . The manager and hostess were helpful but only one absent minded waitress was covering all of the tables. She forgot our drink orders 3 TIMES . In the middle of taking our dinner order she excused herself and waited on another table.. The place is loud as hell and poorly designed .If it wasnt for location- location , this place would be closed in heartbeat. read more

They let us in, we walk up to the bar and order a drink. Before our drinks arrive somebody from the bar comes up and kicks us out with no explanation and without giving us our money back. Mind you, it wasn't anywhere near closing time, we were all over 21 and we weren't causing any trouble at all. Bartender is drunk and rude telling us to leave an hour before close. Said it was last call for us but people repeatedly provided drinks for other people. The bar closes at 2 and we walked in at 12:45... no music was on. Someone tried to play music and they told people to shut it off. It is a bar with live music. It seems like most places that are bar/restaurant can be a grab bag of experiences but of course it all depends on your expectations. The live music was good. Of course after midnight there was quite the cast of characters and behaviors left. I see those people as having a good time and not hurting me but it can ruin others fun. If you are not a fan. On the food and price: Don't go to eat and expect anything worth half of what you pay for. Two beers, two orange juices (for the kiddos), two MD crab soups, two orders of "Buffalo" wings (not even close, my friends, as they tasted like they were boiled and slapped with some orange-colored, spicy sauce), and two "side" salads to share in our family of four. Total? $75.00 I.kid.you.not. Not even worth the somewhat redeeming atmosphere on the water and the freshened interior. This place is incredibly racist. My friends have tried to go there and I've gone there with my boyfriend (who is from Ukraine by the way). If English is not your first language avoid this place like the plague. It's loud outside and if they ask you how much you've had, how you're doing.... Etc and you don't hear what they said the first time, they will immediately deny you. This dined at the Admiral's Cup on Saturday, March 9th. This was my first visit to the place since the re-opening. I arrived around 8pm, the bar was full, but we were looking to sit down and eat. There was no greeting when we walked in, and no real way to determine what to do to get a table. My buddy and I decided to keep walking toward the back, and tucked around the corner was a "hostess" stand (a serving tray with some menus stacked on it). We were promptly seated in the small dinning area, approximately 10 tables, were we sat there and waited. A little more then 5 minutes passed before our server came up to greet us and take a drink order, one oatmeal stout and one bud light. The server started walking to her POS system, made it half way (about six feet), turned around, and asked us again what we ordered. Then we sat there and waited. I would say about 10 minutes passed before our server showed up again to take our order, at the completion of our order she asked us if we would like anything to drink. Our reply, "we already placed our drink order." "You did? Did I take your order?" she asked, "what did you order?" and off she ran to the bar and returned with nothing. We did eventually receive our drinks 5 - 10 minutes later. The food: We order the crab dip as a starter, and the braised pork BBQ and scallop roll for dinner. The crab did was okay, nothing special. The braised pork was tender, but the sauce tasted like anything else you can find in a jar. The scallop looked great, and came out served on a New England style roll. It is too bad it didn't taste as good as it looked. The scallop roll was bland, without even a hint of salt. Biting into it all you could taste was the toasted roll. Very disappointing. Eventually, our server came back and we asked for our check, and then we waited ... and waited ... and then we waited some more. I sat there and watched our server deliver and swipe another tables check, and watched her get sent off toward the bar multiple times by the manager as we sat there waited. We finally got the attention of one of the managers and asked for our check again. I would say it took over 20 minutes to get our check so we could pay and leave. I do have to say, that I felt for our server who appeared doing additional work for her male manager, but it was still no excuse for amount of time we sat there waiting read more

I hardly ever write reviews, but this one is much deserved. Admiral's cup is my favorite bar. Why? Because the staff is amazing. They treat you like family (yes even make fun of you once they know you as a regular) and they care. The staff has gone above and beyond more times than I can count and this is truly my favorite bar in Baltimore. The staff makes you feel at home. I have made many because of this bar. Thank you to the owner and staff for making my birthday so special and for always making me fee at home. When I have met tourists, I always send them to the Cup, there is no better way to show non locals what Baltimore is really about. It's not fancy, its not pretentious. It's a laid back and welcoming. This place is in a great location and they have multiple lovely tables outside...which is somewhat of a rarity in Fells. Many places have 2-3 tables, but Admirals has several. This is a definite plus. Another plus is that they have cold beer. And the waiter we had was nice and very attentive, so that was great, too. But if you want a tasty meal this is not the place to go, unfortunately. We had oysters on the shell, shrimp ceviche, and lamb sliders. The oysters at Thames Street Oyster seem much safer. These had the distinct taste of mud that was just not pleasant. And they didn't come on a bed of ice which is just something I always like with oysters. The ceviche was relatively tasteless. And I'm sorry, but serving ceviche in a martini glass is just never a good idea. It's definitely not practical and I honestly don't even think it looks nice. I want this trend to stop. Now. And the lamb sliders can only be described as "uninspired." The rolls were good but the lamb sliders themselves were drenched in what most likely was bottled bbq sauce from Costco. Harsh? Maybe. Truthful? Yes. We wanted to like this place, we really did. But we just didn't. Now that being said, we will go back for beers in the future. Sitting outside and people watching was great. Very disappointed with there food and service. When we first walked in, there was no one at the hostess stand. It looked like she had a lot going on. Our server was nice but we sat outside. He checked on us a few times. I ordered MD crab soup, presentation looked great with large crab meat pieces in the soup but when tasted it, it was tasted and smelled fishy. I had to eat the oyster crackers to get the fishy taste out. I also ordered their shrimp salad wrap and it was eh. It needed more flavor, very plain and bland. When living in MD and cooking seafood. You need to use Old Bay seasoning. I had to requested old bay seasoning so that I could finish my food. I wanted some flavor. The portion was good for the price. My boyfriend ordered the beef sliders which looked and tasted good. I would not recommend this place for good food. read more

The new Admiral's Cup is top notch! Great menu and the food does not disappoint. I recommend the roast chicken entree or the scallop roll, both are delicious. Nice selection of draft beers with some local brews on tap. They even have a local beer sampler if you would like to try a variety of beers without breaking the bank. The place is nothing if not in motion at all times. But I'm rating The Admiral's Cup so let me say...So So So fun! We came in late afternoon. Grabbed some Crabby Mac/Cheese and one of the best club sandwiches I have ever had. It was very crowded and why not? Good food and the band was the BOMB! Unfortunately I cannot remember who they were but my friend bought their CD while they jammed out and We stayed until the place closed. I wish that night never ended. Strong drinks, great food and an amazing (basically blues) band with a Stevie Ray Vaughn backbone. I'd love to go back. read more

We are going this Saturday Drink with your Dog day - it's a good way to raise money for animals. Other than that - this place is a 'don't." On weekend nights after 9pm I have personally witnessed some of the creepiest people coming in there. It's usually several groups of four - one man with and two-three girls (some of them look to be about 15!). The girls are dressed like cartoon hookers just standing around in impossibly short dresses, stilettos looking sort of desperate and in need of a bath and a meal - while the man scans the crowd - for what I do not know but can only guess. I don't know what's going on there but my gut instinct tells me it can't be good. read more

I frequent this restaurant typically 2+ days a week for lunch. Its by far one of THE BEST places to eat in Fells Point. I currently work on Bond St so me and a few of my colleagues are always looking for somewhere good to grab lunch. We've been here for 18 months and tried several places and this is ONE OF THE BEST! This place beats MOST of the other restaurants in the area in Quality. The pricing is competitive with the surrounding bars but the service and food is much better. BEST DISH: The Tuna Salad (New on the menu) comes with bacon avocado, lettuce tomatoes, etc. The Tuna is very tender and can be sliced by fork. or The Shrimp Salad Sandwich ( VERY GENEROUS PORTIONS) The buffalo wings are also good and the crab cake is one of the best in fells. The bartender during the day is typically Leaf ( Male ). He is always very courteous and quick ( which is important during my lunch break because I don't have much time). The drinks are NEVER watered down or over poured to the point where you cant enjoy the beverage. He is friendly and builds rapport with his customers which some bartenders in the area don't care to do. The best part about this restaurant is the food and atmosphere. Its clean, comfortable and the bathrooms are SPOTLESS. Another thing that stood out is management walking around checking on the customers and greeting you when you come in. I went here to see a buddy of mine play in his band, and I had a good time. This place is nothing out of the ordinary as far as sports bars go, but it does have a seafaring theme, which makes sense being right on Thames St in Fells Point. The bar was packed, and the layout makes it a bit hard to move around with the band right in the middle of the walkway in the back. It also took quite a long time to get my drinks, but the bartenders appeared to be working hard. There's also some outdoor seating. Overall this is average. Definitely an under 25 place to be after 10pm on a Friday night. It's fun but limited to no seating, unmaintained bathrooms and the table you may find isn't worth sitting at. Best tip is to order your drinks all at once, instead of one at a time to get them quicker if you're in a large group. I cant judge the food since I didnt have any, and the band that was playing was good, lots of 80s/early 90s songs. Take it for what it is, it's just ok. read more

There are a lot of options in Fells Point when it comes to dinner and drinks. I had never been to The Admiral's Cup so I thought I'd check it out. I love a good BLT sandwich, so I ordered the BALT (Bacon, Avocado, Lettuce, Tomato). I was not impressed. The bacon was jalapeño infused, and was good, however the rest of the sandwich had very little flavor. Also, the avocado was more of a guacamole. I will say, the waiter was great and the atmosphere was nice. I just was disappointed in the food. read more

THE CUP! It's back! But.. oh... Those of you who remember know what it was, the creak of the bent floors, the poor lighting, the marvelous murk and grime in all its amazing Baltimore dive bar glory... it is no more. When our beloved Cup took the plunge several years ago, the rumors abound about the spot that would take it's spot. Well, they rebuilt it, they remade it, and it seems to be a modern bar now. Don't get me wrong, it was clean and the new bay windows offer great views of Thanes and the square. There are plenty of tvs and the bar is large with plenty of seating. It now extends into the back instead of further to the side, as it used to be. It's clean and modern and probably has all the bells and whistles. But it's just not my lovely, divey, oh-look-is-that-blood-in-the-corner Cup. We stopped in for drinks on a Friday and were served quickly, even though it was packed. we had a few and moved on because it just felt odd. I'll go back and try it again, and try not to act like a sketchy ex the next time. read more

Was going to eat here but found a much better place. What changed my mind was the poor bar service. I have been to this place several times but never have I had such bad service. The first bartender ignored me completely and served a customer who had just walked in. The next bartender asked what I wanted but came back several minutes later without my drinks and asked me for my order again.
