I loved how close I was able to sit by my boyfriend while enjoying the smooth sounds of the live jazz band featuring, Anna-Lisa Kirby. It was AMAZING! The decor was sexy and very exclusive, felt like a speakeasy vibes as the decor transported you into another era. It was magical Service was good, our waitress was really helpful with recommending good drinks. This was a post dinner bar visit so we mainly had drinks and added a few treats: colossal shrimp cocktail and warm butter cake. The colossal shrimp cocktail contained some of the largest prawns that I've ever had. They were fresh and perfectly prepared but one was enjoy to fill you up. The warm butter cake was sinfully good! Warm, soft, and sweet. The drinks were AMAZING! I ordered the Recurrence Eternal which contained gin, pear, and champagne. There were other ingredients in there but I wanted to spotlight these few. Service: fast, friendly Happy hour food & drinks: everything we tried was delicious - truffled waffle fries, tater tots (which are cubed, and served with a delicious aioli), ceviche, Caesar salad. Tried 2 cocktails, both nice and strong, but maybe not the most memorable cocktails I've ever had for the price. Disappointed that happy hour only had 3 cocktails on it, so we ordered drinks off the main menu, but lots of reasonably priced food available for happy hour. I love the art deco vibe here. The piano is gorgeous. The bartenders were so knowledgeable and helpful. This review is solely based on my experience with the bartender at the bar. I dine out solo a lot and always sit at the bar. I have never been splashed in the face during the shaking of a drink that was being made by the bartender. The bartender was of a different race and seemed annoyed by my presence from the jump. I had been splashed in the face twice until a customer of his race came and sat next to me. I did pay attention to his behavior while the woman was seated next to me and his drink mixing wasn't as aggressive. I had to go to the bathroom during my visit and told him I would pay before going to the bathroom so he wouldn't make any assumptions about me. I asked him to keep my drink behind the bar because the woman was still seated next to me. I came back and the woman eventually left. I was still finishing my drink and I was splashed 2 additional times. The last time I made him aware of what he was doing. His apology was disingenuous and passive aggressive. I left after this even though I had intentions on ordering desert and listening to the musicians that were about to get started. I did inform the manager about my experience prior to leaving. I'm leaving the review bc the experience still bothers me. If they have cameras at the bar I'm sure my reaction to the splashing can be observed. read more

I was invited to this Speakeasy for my good girl friend birthday. I have been in the Harbor East area and walked past this place and never knew it was there. It was a great surprise to try a new place. The atmosphere is so cozy and dimly lit with a huge patio in the center. I was able to try street parking with a paid meter. My friends and I walked over to Order of the Ace after dinner at The Ruxton Steakhouse. Based on the reviews I thought it was a speakeasy which is usually unassuming and has a secret entrance or door. You can walk through the front door to get to the bar or if leaving The Ruxton it is on your right side before leaving out. Order of the Ace definitely gave speakeasy vibes with the retro furniture, artwork, and jazz music. This is a sophisticated bar and lounge that seats 40 which offers live entertainment every night. It is for the girls that can appreciate a well made craft cocktail. There are only drinks offered here so if you are hungry you should dine before arriving. The drinks are pricey but are of great quality. Reservations can be made or you can stop in and hope seats are available. You must be 21 or older and everyone gets carded. We were a party of 4 and found seats at the bar. Our bartender was friendly and personable. The live jazz music was very nice and we were able to still hear each other talk. Fantastic experience twice in 3 weeks. Great customer service, atmosphere, and beverages. September 15th, 2024 I visited this establishment w friends and family. We were assisted by Abby who had an awesome, bubbly, and kind personality. We ordered quite a few items. As far as beverages, we ordered Tree of Life, Secret Handshake, and Bohemian Grove. There was a 4th beverage that Abby made for my gf that wasn't on the menu, yet was perfect for her. She loved it. All 4 beverages were well crafted with care, and perfect. October 4th, 2024 Celebratory Outing w Hubby I visited this establishment w Hubby. I really wanted him to try one of their crafted Cocktails. It was soooo cold in this establishment that we requested 2 Hot Toddy's instead. Selina was a great bar tender to us. She quickly assisted w our beverages, and made them perfectly. She checked back in on us to make sure we were satisfied, and maintained professional pleasantries. At some point, the temperature was regulated. We were happy!! Order of the Ace is fantastic overall and is a perfect place for a date or celebration with friends. The drinks are a bit on the pricier end, starting at $20. If you like fruity sweet cocktails, I would definite go for the Bohemian Grove. I would not get the Aqua Vitae, as it looks pretty much just like water - very boring presentation - and tastes like straight up liquor. It's a very strong drink. If you don't drink alcohol, you can order a mocktail for $20. They don't have a mocktail menu and it is ore of a "dealer's choice." The server/ bartender will ask you a couple of questions (ie. Sweet? Fruity? What flavors do you like? Dislike?) Service was fantastic and very quick. Although we did make a reservation for 8:45pm, we still had to wait 15-20 minutes when we got there, even though it did not seem too busy inside. They also did not check my ID at all The vibes inside are amazing. There's live music every night, you just have to check who's playing with their schedule online. This bar is located in Harbor East, so street parking is available, as are garages. I was very excited to try this place, and the drinks did not disappoint! Very inventive and tasty. I got the Secret Handshake, which has vodka, agricole rum, and fruity notes. Very smooth and the lemon peel garnish was a nice touch! My friend got the Allegory of the Cave, which has Japanese whiskey, bermutto, among other things. He really enjoyed it! Although he said the plum at the bottom was extremely sour (which I had warned him would be!) The live jazz was great, but be aware that it ends on weekdays at 10pm. So unfortunately we only heard a few minutes before they ended for the night. The inside is spacious and open. The regular seats and tables are along the walls, while the piano and other instruments are right in the center. The bar seats are in the very back. Given it was a weekday night, it wasn't very busy. Unfortunately, I found the service subpar. There was no hostess when we arrived (and we waited for a few minutes), so we had to seat ourselves. But when we asked the bartender, she said there is always a hostess. So that was very confusing? After we sat down, we also did not get served for more than 10 minutes, despite there only being 4 or so other people there. Very strange. Once we finally flagged down the bartender, the service became much smoother thereafter. So I imagine this is a kink they need to work out (understandable, as they opened very recently). I believe it's 12 small tables and a small bar. The live music is perfect. You can enter it from the restaurant but it also has its own seperate entrance. The vibe is absolutely stunning: small and intimate, with lush velvet curtains and dramatic artwork of iconic actresses, dancers, and singers. The bar itself is a showstopper -- it has that dreamy, speakeasy feel you hope to stumble into. The jazz band was top-notch, and the staff went above and beyond to make the experience feel special. We also ordered food -- the calamari mix and the tater tots with caviar -- and both were fantastic. But I have to be honest -- the cocktails, while incredibly creative, just didn't land for us last night. They're beautifully crafted and unique, but if the flavors don't hit, the magic fizzles a bit. We wen to Order of the Ace on Friday (3/8) after dinner specifically because our good friend Amanda Lynn was singing. She is a regular at Tagliata and we always love hearing her sing with her great piano accompaniment. Friday did not disappoint and the space in Order of the Ace was wonderful. The space feels small and intimate yet lively. All the seats are close to the musicians and you feel like you just want to relax and let the time slip by. It is the kind of space and experience that we have been wishing for in Baltimore. Where you can come at any time and relax and listen to some great music while enjoying a craft cocktail. The volume level was just right to be able to enjoy the music while still having a conversation (unless other Atlas properties - James Joyce I'm looking at you). Our waiter was friendly and helpful and we didn't feel rushed or pressured to order more than we wanted. The cocktail list looked quite interesting though some seemed over priced ($72!). I was able to try a sip of a friends ($24) and it was very well made. Me, I had an excellent rye whiskey (High Wire Port Finish - $22, trying to get my hands on a bottle). They also have my favorite rye Willett 4yr for $24. The list is not as extensive as other Atlas properties but has a good range to choose from. From a price perspective, they were pretty high with few less expensive options. But if you think of the price as partly going towards the entertainment (I hope at least) then they seem more reasonable. That said, the options for wine were lacking and overpriced. There were only a couple options available and they were $24 or more (if I recall correctly). Compare that with the beer prices ($7) and it makes you think this venue doesn't like wine drinkers. WRT parking, the Ruxton (sister venue next door) had valet parking (no idea on cost) and there is a parking garage above the space. That said, if you can, book a ride and enjoy an extra drink. All in all, we very much enjoyed the space and the music and intend to come back over and over again when we are in the hood for dinner. read more
