I am not a serious airsoft player but do play periodically. My old KWA finally broke beyond my ability to fix and I needed some advice. I made the drive to the Tacoma Airsoft Center. It is a pretty unassuming place that is not very well marked. Once I walked in I was greeted and shown around the shop. They have a huge assortment of Airsoft guns of sniper, AK, Compact assult, shotgun and pistol styles available. The sales staff there knows their stuff very well and I got my information in just minutes and learned a lot more. The pricing was maybe a couple dollars or two above the online stores but this is a brick and mortar store and airsoft guns that you can pickup and handle. After my purchase they took it to the range to get my muzzle velocity and to make sure the motor sounded right and was running well. I opted to also have the spring replaced while I was there which only took minutes and once again I was in learning mode once again. This place has full up gear and also a indoor airsoft arena. They have limits on how many people due to Covid for games. They are in process of opening up a new shop in the University District shortly, so they will have two shops. I will definitely say they are the local experts in the greater Seattle area.

Pretty sad. What happened to people being professional these guys are a joke.

The picture says it all... I will not be returning to this place of business and I will also be informing as many people as I can to stay away from this store. They treat people like crap and when you call them out they tell you its airsoft drama. Pretty unprofessional...

There have been a few snags with reservations before, but the staff was always courteous and helpful to resolve it. Okay, lets talk about the fields. These are AMAZING fields. They have several that they rotate you through, throughout the day. It doesn't matter if you are a private group or a walk-on group. You play at all the fields. You VW nuts out there in cyberland will appreciate the fact that their Urban field has a late 70's model Rabbit as a bunker. It nearly brought a tear to my eye to have to shoot it to tag someone out. I digress. Hamburger Hill was an amazing field to try and fight up. The Urban field had lots of junk and two-story buildings to snipe from. The Speedball field was pretty standard. The Bridge field, was so amazingly wooded that I was able to sneak behind the whole enemy team. The Jungle field is where I start to complain. When I play paintball in Western Washington, I might expect to see the occasional stinging nettle and bee. I do NOT, however, expect to see whole groves of stinging nettles and multiple large bee's nests. The field may have rectified this, but if they haven't, avoid the Jungle field. The only other complaint I have about Operation Paintball is how frequently you change fields. I have a lot of gear, as do several people I play with. We don't like like to lug it from field to field, every two games. While I applaud the effort to allow people to play on all fields, I'd like to stick around on one for more than two games. By the way, as I read the other reviews, I need to ask, "You people arrange Yelp games?!" I might have to include people on here for my next private group... So, quick summary: This is a great venue with many amazing fields and one that I'm scared of (You just can't shoot bees. They are known for swarming.) The prices are reasonable, and you get a variety of playing experiences with refs that actually do their jobs. You just change fields, a lot. The only place I like more is KC Crusaders, and not by much.

This place is like a supercenter for outdoor recreational activities. I could spend extra hours in the store, just browsing, and marveling at all the options they have. Some of my favorite items are The Walker's Digital Electronic Earmuffs for indoor shooting protection and the Salty Crew Apex Perforated Long-Sleeve Hooded Sunshirt for style. Although several items are pricey, they do offer memberships and various discounts to reduce the damage to your pockets. I usually frequent this place twice a month, sometimes just for a browse for sales or to find items that I do not currently have on hand that will be very useful in the future. Oh, and I just absolutely love interacting with service reps because they actually love what they do in their job. The first clerk I asked to sell me a pass fumbled around and could not log into a computer. He made an odd, childish sounding call to another clerk. That person came and the two of them would have been comical to watch, if not so sad. After about 5 minutes, clerk 2 called his manager. I had the dubious please of listening to first questions about the computer ( I could tell it was not good news of some type), then a long conversation about sales, socks and things the clerk was to do. It was very clear the customer standing awkwardly in their store was not important. So, after the call, I'd been in the store 10-15 minutes. The clerk addresses me, while looking down and to his left, like he was afraid of me. I had NOT said a single word at this point. He gave a long-winded excuse, this was a known issue, they had submitted tickets, they simply had to call the state and get it fixed. I simply said OK and left to find another store and by my pass. This store needs training and a manager shake up. To not post the computer was broke (so I would not drive there in the first place), to not notify staff, to not care about the customer standing there while they were talking socks and sales.... Everything that is wrong about retail training and service is endemic to this store.
