We wanted an indie designer to create a custom thistle motif wedding suite (I live in Scotland, my now-husband is Scottish, the wedding was in Scotland and the thistle is the national flower) and "logo" we could also use for other items such as cocktail napkins and the like. Her thoughtful design set a tone of anticipation and were not only beautiful to look at but felt lovely to the touch with the letterpressing and creamy, substantial paper. Hannah sold us the vector file for the custom logo/crest design she created for us to use on those other items as we wished. She's not only very creatively talented, she's also great at listening to the needs and wants of a client as well as reading people to offer her own suggestions to make the finished work that much more special. She's warm, detail-oriented and great at communication. For custom work, we were very happy with the overall value we received relative to how talented she is. The design, color scheme, creamy and substantial paper, letter pressing...all beautiful and cohesive. Months later we're still getting compliments on the beautiful suite (including programs and menus) she designed for us. Admittedly it was a bit more than we were looking to spend on wedding invitations. But we got just what we wished for and it was great value for the quality.

This is my go-to location for develop, scan, and print of 35mm film. They seem to do a better job…read morethan their competitors at color correction, they're right in Midtown, and they offer prints for only $3 more, which encourages me to keep physical copies of my work. If I recall, you get a TIFF for the price rather than it being an upcharge from JPEG as is done elsewhere. They have gone out of their way to be helpful on multiple occasions - for example I've asked them basic questions, such as "why is this image underexposed" and they've stopped to patiently explain, despite being busy with other work. My 3 month old baby needed to get her passport picture taken and this is the only place in NYC I trust to get it right the first time. Very straightforward process- I went in, explained what sort of passport picture I would need, and the proprietor jumped into action! She got out a table with a cloth and pillow so I could put my baby down for the picture. She was very efficient and we got the picture done in one try! 5 minutes later, I received 2 copies of the picture. Paid $19 and we were on our way. This is HUGE when you have a fussy baby who's like "what is going on, why did you just put me on this table, what was that big flash of light, what what what." We'll definitely be back for more passport pictures as my baby grows :)

The store manager contacted me on 03/29/25 to state that they would be unable to process my recent order as the head technician felt that he would be unable to achieve the "quality I expect", which is simply a scan without the residue or anomalies. For context, I gave Pro Image over $2000 worth of business in the last 2 year period. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this incompetent business. A disgrace to the NYC photography community.

I've been working with them for more than a year now and they have not disappointed. They produce beautiful prints with lightning fast speed. When I had them produce a 48" x 72" print of one of my shots, I literally watched them build me a shipping tube that could fit the print. That's great service. And if you're local, they are super convenient -- just steps away from the B, D, F, M and 6 trains. I can't recommend them highly enough.

People had told me prior to the wedding that it is important to choose a photographer you get along with because you will be with him/her all day. I really did not believe them until the wedding and post wedding (when you work closely with the photographer/staff on the wedding album). Fortunately, while choosing a photographer, we did keep this advice in the back of our heads. In my opinion, the wedding photographer/company is 1 of the most important wedding related decisions that a couple has to make. We had heard some horror stories from some couples re their photographers and obtaining pics/album post wedding. Spencer and his entire staff are incredibly professional, efficient & a pleasure to work with. 3 qualities that I wanted to share about Spencer that I think are of relevance is he is easy going, attentive to detail & passionate about his work. Additionally, Spencer and his staff allowed me to be involved with the layout of the album, which was important to me. While that is not important for most couple, if it is, be aware that many companies do not give you any control. Spencer and his assistant showed up 30minutes early, our pictures were available to share on the internet within 3 weeks of the wedding and our album was completed within 4 months. (Much of the delay was selecting which pictures to put in the album. It was extremely difficult as we had so many amazing pictures to choose from). I will say that both my husband and I wanted non traditional wedding photos, more action shots and artistic pictures. IF you are looking for an album of traditional posed pictures, 5 west studios may not be the way to go. We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND 5 WEST STUDIOS and are just thrilled that they were part of our wedding.
