She said I should be getting my photos by next week through a link called WeTransfer. *Update*: I received my photos 8 days later. I'm not photogenic. After decades of hating photos of myself I've come to accept it. So when it was time to renew my passport I decided to go to the famous Eliz Digital to get the best possible photo of myself. I discovered them in a Gothamist article where people praised at how professional looking the photos were. I figured that this would be my best shot at not looking at a photo that I hate for the next 10 years. If you're remotely photogenic then your photo will probably look like a professional head shot. If you're like me you will accept that your eyes look like Cash Patel's because you can't see without your glasses. The photographer took a couple of photos to choose from. I deferred to her judgement about which one was best. Paid cash since it's cash only. I opted for the digital photo since I was renewing my passport online. My photo was emailed the next day. Impressed with the quality of film prints from Eliz Digital. It's always nerve-wracking to drop off precious film to a new lab for the first time. However, Eliz Digital was friendly, well-priced, and quick! I cannot state enough how clearly my 35mm photos came out -- no grain or mistakes to be found (a problem I've had with other labs). Also, in addition to printing, they also scan the photos and email them to you! Note they are cash only. I will be back to develop more film, and to get my passport photo taken here! My favorite place for film development! Eliz Digital offers reasonable prices and quick turnaround times. It's a very easy process there, they develop your film and email a really convenient WeTransfer link. You also have the option to get prints done there too! They also sell Polaroid films and other film stocks like Fujifilm, Kodak, Portra, and Cinestill. Cash only, there's an atm a few storefronts down. I normally get my 35mm film developed in high resolution which is $16, it's $11 for normal quality. My most recent film drop off took 2 days to be developed and emailed to me; the longest I've had to wait was probably 7-8 days which is rare. The staff are also very friendly and helpful! One of my rolls ended up being blank (I think it might have been an issue with how I loaded it into my camera and not an issue with Eliz Digital), the staff were kind enough to refund me $9 in cash which I had to pick up in store. Everyone in this local business definitely was busy assistant customers literally walking in and out in a timely manner. If you're in New York City and need to get your film developed, I'd recommended coming to Eliz Digital! Their service is amazing and they are quick with their turnaround time. I usually go to New York for a week or so and will drop off at the beginning of my trip and will get it back before I even leave the city. They keep their negatives up to two months. I forgot to get mine before I left once. I came back a month later to visit and they had it ready for me to pick up! Everyone there is kind and they value the work they do. My experiences with Eliz Digital haven't been so great, unfortunately. The first time I went was for a passport photo - they said their printer was down, so I had to come back a couple of days later to pick it up. When I returned, they couldn't find my print out or the digital file. The second time was for film developing & scans - I have my usual spots for this, but I popped in because I was in the area. These took a long time to come in & the scan quality was pretty subpar. I called a couple times while waiting to get an ETA but they never answer their phone. I appreciate any place that still offers photo services in the city, but they just seem really disorganized here and I'd be wary to trust them with any important rolls. read more

Like a careless idiot, I forgot that my passport was expiring dangerously close to my upcoming international travel and needed to renew it ASAP. While gathering all the necessary documents for my passport appointment, I realized that I didn't have a valid passport picture. After hearing about some of the horror stories of getting your passport photos taken at local CVS from my friends, I decided to go to a photo studio - since I'm going to have to stare at this photo for another 10 years. I turned to Yelp for guidance on where to go, and Eliz Digital popped up. Like most reviews mentioned, the pictures are incredibly affordable ($10 for 4 at the time of writing) and the turnaround time is really quick. I stopped by during a weekday afternoon and there were some people waiting in line to get their pictures as well. The lady who took my picture was polite and she allowed me to pick my own picture out of the few she had taken. After I paid, she told me to come back in about 20 minutes. Everything was smooth until I returned and got my picture. For some odd reason, my pictures had a sepia hue to it (see attached photo for reference). Since I couldn't risk getting my picture rejected, I ended up going to another studio to take the headshot the same day. While I appreciate the timeliness and price of the services provided at Eliz Digital, I was a bit dismayed by the quality of the pictures I got from them. Because I had to get new passport pictures, it felt like my visit to Eliz Digital was a waste of time and money. With that said, I don't think I can recommend this place for passport photos wholeheartedly - especially if you are on a time crunch. read more

I've exposed my films here just twice! They're extremely efficient and I get my digital scans really quick - usually in one or two business days. They're usually quote you a couple days but turnaround is quick. Quality wise I can't really comment. I've never tried any other place, but sometimes my pictures are blurry/fuzzy or has there's lines but I'm not sure if it's my film/camera or what. I'm ok with them so far minus the really blurry ones! But not sure if that's just my friends shaky hands or the lack or flash used. Overall, I had a great experience. I learned how to load my first roll of film here and lmao figured out how a completed roll of film sounds (rookie life) and they were always willing to answer all my questions. I also but my 35mm film here and they have a couple options. They've been giving me the same film type when I ask but next time I might change it up! I've paid in cash only so far. read more

Cash only! I got 3 rolls of 35mm film developed. I came in about half hour before closing on a Friday and My photo scans were emailed to me by the next afternoon, so less than 24 hours. Not sure why there are some complaints about the quality- it's film after all. Part of the lure of using it is the surprise and also the "filter" look. I'm very pleased with the way my photos turned out. For $10 a roll, fast processing, one click downloads, and a friendly staff, I will be using them for my film from now on. Came here for a passport picture - it was quick, affordable and turned out great. This is definitely no frills with just a white wall as the background, but for the price (cash only), it's worth it! We had two disposable cameras we used on our trip in March and finally got it developed at Eliz last weekend. We got it scanned which was about $10 per disposable camera (~27 photos). If we wanted to get it printed it would be $0.30 per photo. We decided to wait since we weren't sure how the photos would turned out. My bf wrote down his email address and the next day he received the scanned photos. The quality was pretty good. It is a bit grainy but I think it just adds to the vintage feel/look.
