Inside the same building as the Addison Improv. The Alley is a cool spot to listen to music. They offer limited free seating. Table reservations are available and encouraged. The ambiance is dark and decorated with red accents and booths. You can opt to get a couch for bigger parties. They have lamps on the table and you change the light to let your server know you need them. They copycat the Improv on two items minimum per person. Drinks are a bit on the pricey side. The Henny-Rita cocktail is delicious and I could actually taste the Hennessy. Bottles of water are priced decently. My server he was polite and friendly. Sometimes I feel these places can nickel and dime you. They automatically had gratuity to your bill. Please NOTE: The bands tend to start late. Overall if you want to hear some good music and be entertained. Then this a great place to start the night. The crowd does change from grown and sexy to young and fun. I will return and come back a few times a year for live music performances. I give them a 3.5 for the whole vibe and visit. Since I can't give them a half star. I will push it to a 4 star. I came into town for a cheerleading competition and my homegirl told me to stop by on Friday night. I booked a table for 4 which came with admission. $50 bucks. Steal of a deal. We walked in around 10:30 and it wasn't to busy but boy did that change. The happy hour special stops at 11pm. I'm glad we caught it. A large lemon drop glass for only $7 is a steal of a deal. We were seated at our table and an hour later, this place started jumping. It ended up being packed wall to wall. Women dancing left and right, gentlemen enjoy the scene. Hello world! Out on a night with my nephew and wife, from Memphis here visiting. He suggested the Alley. I had never heard of it before. As a party of six arrive, we proceed to park and walk to this place. Dark alley, entrance was an creepy! We got there at 7:30. There was a 10 cover charge at the door 60.00. There were no comfortable seats available. We were seated in a high traffic area on tin bar stools. The waiter couldn't wait to let us know we had to order 2 items from the menu. It was six of Us. There was a lot of fried food and a few salads. Everything was over priced and over cooked. The chicken wings were hard and crispy!! So I bought 2 bottles of water for 9.50, because I wasn't hungry! The beer was 10- 15 a bottle. We end up spending 150.00 within 2 hours. It was really an unfriendly place to take guess. Maybe in the near future I may go back. Somewhere between an upscale music lounge and bar is where The Alley falls. The interior is nice and elevated and parking is easy to find outside. There was a $10 cover at the door to enter which we think is fair as the musicians have to get paid somehow. The entire area was reserved except for one table which we luckily found. The music started about 30 minutes after the scheduled time but once it was going it was a lot of fun to sit and listen to. We noticed the crowd was a bit older, not sure if it was for any particular reason that night but just something we noticed. We ended up opting not to get drinks because they seemed a bit pricey there, otherwise the vibes were very fun and laid back. This is a good spot for those in the area looking for live music but between the price of drinks and ease of finding a table, have a backup ready just in case. read more

I decided to check this place out on a Saturday night for the 10 PM show. We arrived around 9:45 PM and were first in line. My girlfriend needed to use the restroom, but the front door security refused to let her in and told her to go downstairs to use the restaurant's restroom--which made no sense since it was only a few steps away inside. We asked when we could enter, and he said they were "holding" because another show was finishing up. However, that show didn't end on time, and we ended up waiting until about 10:30 PM--roughly 45 minutes total in line. What made things worse was that security started letting people with reserved tables skip ahead of everyone else in line. We had general admission standing tickets, but we mainly just wanted to get inside at that point and use the restroom. Overall, the organization at this venue is very poor. The experience was frustrating and disappointing, especially since I wanted to give this place a fair shot. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back, and I'll be sharing my experience with others. We left when people started cutting us in line. I would also like a refund for the $35 tickets I purchased. This place is run by ghetto trash. read more

My friend came into town from Louisiana and surprised me for the weekend, which completely caught me off guard--in the best way. We ended up booking a table during a casual conversation, and unfortunately, we didn't realize there were two booking windows (7-10 and 10-2), so that part was on us. That said, the music was amazing!!! The venue itself had great energy, but food was horrible. Unfortunately, the service overshadowed the experience. Our server, Danielle R., repeatedly delayed bringing the check, stating multiple times that "something is wrong with the system." During this time, she walked away to assist other tables, which meant I was never given the opportunity to view a receipt at all before payment was processed. There was no screen shown, no breakdown reviewed--just repeated delays by her walking over to other table and at the same time the DJ announcing that we had to get up from our table. When I was finally able to pay, I tipped $20 in cash. After mentally reviewing the total, it didn't add up, which is when I requested an itemized receipt. Her response was that I "didn't push" for one. I explained that I couldn't have--because I was never afforded the opportunity to even look at a receipt in the first place due to the ongoing "system issues." Only after insisting was an itemized receipt provided. The way the situation was handled felt intentional and lacking transparency. I still allowed her to keep the cash tip, but I will not return based on this service experience alone, which is unfortunate because the venue itself has a lot of potential. I was initially very excited to go to this venue - it was our first time. The set up was nice and the room was packed - which I thought was a good sign to a great night! Well... Drinks- They came out pretty timely. The whiskey sours and long islands were great! The Temptation- not so good. Watered down and could barely taste the alcohol. Drinks are a bit over priced too. Food- This was the downfall. Our food took practically TWO hours to get to us after ordering. No exaggeration! We ordered at 7:55pm, hoping to be able to enjoy it before the main act. Our food arrived at 9:42pm as the performer was leaving the stage!! We were hungry and pissed! It was hard to enjoy the show, when you see all the other tables near you, that arrived AFTER you, get their food. And the chicken tacos barely had any chicken in them - they provide 2-3 tortillas per taco and barely any meat - so overpriced. We paid for a VIP table. At 10pm you have to get up from your VIP table and move elsewhere because it turns into a club and there is a different promoter. (Keep in mind we just got our food at 9:42pm!!) It was a mess. We ended up moving and luckily got another table. There should be a better system in place other than having to get up, get back in line and then re-enter the venue. So ridiculous!!!! Lastly, pay attention to your bill when you get it. They add gratuity automatically and don't tell you. I ended up adding more tip and didn't realize it until after. I don't regret it though - the servers were completely overwhelmed all night. Needless to say, we will not be returning here. I'm the type of person that has no problem paying when going out. I don't look for discounts or anything like that. But I refuse to patronize an establishment that is unorganized and feels chaotic. That does not lend to having a great time. read more

After my subpar experience the first time, I decided to give them another chance lm writing this review as im waiting for my reserved table that was suppose to be available at 10PM. Since the fight is on, we were told we wouldn't be seated until after the fight was over. The hostess checking us in said it was on the email. I went through the email with her and showed her the eventbrite page were we booked the reserved table and nothing mentioned that. She shrugged it off and said we don't give refunds. Its 1125pm and we still can't get our 10pm reserved table that we paid for. No communication was given and several people who had reserved tables were upset as well. This charge will be disputed and I don't care how long it takes I will get my money back. This is a great spot, nice setup, we had a wonderful vocalist the night we went. Why not five stars? Service, service, service! They must improve their service, or sadly they may not stay open. It's pretty bad, the servers are nice but there doesn't appear to be enough of them and the bar is only manned by 2 bartenders. The bar doesn't seem to be very organized and they are extremely slow. If service improves this place will be stellar. read more
