Our tour guide, Julie was great at going over the do's and don't of being around them. Also, she shared beautiful stories of how this all started and information about Alpacas. They were all so cute and well behaved (didn't get spit on) haha. I apologize that I can not recall the name of the great woman who showed us how their coats are handled. Came here with the fam for a weekend visit. We love animal experiences, so we were excited and were not let down. Julie was our tour guide and was so great. Started with a short presentation about the facility and alpacas, then on to the visits. We had a blast getting to feed them and petting them occasionally. Apparently they aren't real fond of it, but you can get a head rub in while they eat. They have such great personalities and are fun to be around. We also got to spend some time getting a lesson on the process of spinning alpacas fur from Nancy. Such a great job showing us how it is done. They also have a small gift shop you can visit after for some really cool alpaca products, post cards, and such. This was an unbelievable experience that I would highly recommend. We are already planning to go back with other family members. Please, give this place a visit!!! read more

The alpaca hacienda is such a cool place to come for a date or for family fun. In the beginning we all sat down and watched a little video about alpacas and the origin of them and they showed us the fur they cut off for the summer time and how the indigenous people of peru will use the alpaca fur to make sweaters and other clothings with the fur. After the cute informative video, the parties were handed food to give and feed all the alpacas. The alpacas were all very friendly and cute and there were even some baby ones there! It's such an awesome experience for anyone who loves animals and enjoys supporting small business. read more

There are so many cool places to discover in Temecula! I can't believe this one is a mere five minutes from our home and we had never been there. Thankfully, we fit in an afternoon there with all our grandkids during a recent visit. I bought tickets online ahead of time for our large group. Owner Beth was wonderful to deal with, especially when I needed to add 2 more to the reservation. There's even an option, for a nominal fee, to have an additional 30 minutes picnic time with table/chairs provided. Julie led our visit which started with a super informative presentation in a beautiful gazebo area. She gears the tour to the specific group, so ours leaned towards info for the little ones which was wonderful. She was so patient with lots and lots of little kid questions! It was all so fascinating that I'd love to return to learn more about these amazing creatures. It was so much fun to then interact with all their alpacas and two llamas on their beautiful property. They're so gentle and sweet, and we all enjoyed feeding and observing them. We had lots of time and Julie provided us with food and instructions for feeding the alpacas. The Alpaca Hacienda is sadly closing sometime in May and now it is only by appointment. Just go to their website to make an appointment. This place is super cute and the staff is just wonderful. They are passionate about their alpacas and love them. They are well cared for and cute as can be. The grounds are in a lovely area and the place is kept clean. They has a little store and they have the most wonderful Alpacas. They are just so cute and they are super gentle. Your kids will love seeing them. The Alpacas have lots of space and they all seem to get along. It is sad to see this place go. We will miss it. read more

Whilst in Temecula at an AirBnb, my fitcation instructor booked us ladies a tour here. It was the best time ever! There is even a little gift shop at the end to buy little souvenirs and things made out of alpaca hair. We were first educated about the animals before we got to meet and pet the animals. They were so sweet and I didn't get spit on at all. The tour guide lady was very nice and even let us feed the alpacas. read more

Visited the farm a few weeks ago, and I still can't get over how good the experience was. It started with Julie giving us a great introduction about Alpacas and the story of how the farm started. She also went into what to do and not to do when feeding and petting the Alpacas. They had the males and the females separated, so we started with the boys and then had a little lesson with Nancy about the history of spinning and what Alpacas hair is used for, and it was very fun and informative. Then we headed to the girls' section, which had more Alpacas, and I kind of enjoyed more. We even got to pet one of them, and she was very calm. Thankfully I didn't get spit on; however, my husband was in the middle of a small altercation between 2 of the boys but thankfully he survived lol The place is prepared with lots of wipes and a washing station. Had a wonderful experience today with my relatives at The Alpaca Hacienda. My sister visited previously with her friends and recommended that my cousins and I come to check it out. I am so happy we did! The instructions are very clear when you book the tour - where to park, what to expect, etc. A nice plus was how they sent an automated text reminder of our visit the day before! I appreciated how we were kindly greeted from when we parked, to learning about the history of the owners and how it all got started, to answering commonly asked questions, and the different kinds of alpaca spit. We had a blast seeing the alpacas, taking pictures of and with them, giving them treats, and learning the history behind it all... and of course, seeing the llama! It was also interesting to learn how to create alpaca yarn. I also really loved their gift shop - it was so cute and I wanted to buy everything! Overall, a 5/5 experience, highly recommend visiting! My fiancé booked an appointment to celebrate my birthday. I've been wanting to go for so long, and it was even better than I could've imagined. We arrived at the farm a bit early but had some friends that were running a tad late. Our guide was so patient and let us start a bit later. The tour started with a really great interactive presentation on the owners and how everything got started. It was so interesting to learn more about both alpacas and llamas before actually going in and meeting them all. I even got a birthday pin to celebrate which was amazing! We got to feed them in groups, which was such an amazing experience. We started with the girls, and they were all so amazing. They loved crowding around as we fed them and were quite gentle. We also got to meet two of the older males and got some great others with them. It was extra nice since they were separate for a group and we could have more individualized interactions. Finally, we got to meet with the boys in groups. They were a lot more aggressive and nipped us a few times; my fiancé even got a spit button for getting spit on! Thankfully, we were already told about it and there were lots of wipes and freshener to help with everything. I had such an amazing experience and I would love to go again. I texted to let them know, and they were super kind, adjusting the tour to make sure we got a good value for the time we had until the next tour arrived. Also, I use a walker and they showed incredible care for my safety while respecting my decisions on what I could do. Both Julie and Beth were incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and accommodating. But as great as they were... the animals were absolutely the stars of show! Marshall (the only Llama among the Alpacas) was super chill while Poppy (one of "the girls" on the upper portion) clearly believes that ALL FUDZ BELONGS TO POPPY and NOBODY ELSE! Me and 13 of my best buds (including 2 little ones) had the best time here February 2019 to help celebrate my birthday! Except for my friend's 2 little kids, it was mostly all adults at our time slot on a Saturday 1pm. All of my friends couldn't stop talking about this experience for days! If I had planned for this event better, I would had paid extra for a private event. But alas everything worked out and it was very organized and perfect. The first 30 minutes they give you an informational talk with videos and short speeches about the history of the farm and on the alpacas/llamas. There were maybe around 40-45 people and you are given a bag each of the alpaca feed. The tour group splits in half where the first group feeds the alpacas inside the pen, and the rest walk down to the farm below where you can pet the alpacas/llamas from outside the fence. Both areas are equally just as fun! The ones inside the pen of course are a bit more playful and will sometimes chase after you for food. My lucky friend even earned a "Spit Happens" button! So I don't recommend open toes shoes or nice clothes here unless you don't mind alpaca accidents! The house pooch a Puli was so cute, he smiled for all the cameras! For only $12/pp it was great fun for everyone! There is also a gift store for some cute souvenirs. I will definitely come back to visit the all the alpacas and llamas especially Pink! :) read more

THE BEST EXPERIENCE! My fiancé had X'mas gifted me a private tour that was supposed to take place in March. Since it was still COVID-y, we were able to push it back to June and our group of 5 had the BEST time! Julie was wonderful, energetic, and so knowledgeable about the alpacas and gave a fun presentation at the beginning. She had warned us about the 3 categories of alpaca spit and little did we know we would witness a level 3! (See video) After being acclimated to just being around alpacas, we then started with feeding 2 teen alpacas and a senior llama. Then we moved on to a bigger pen with about 8 male alpacas. So much fun! You're given the option to use a frisbee to hold the food but the alpacas are gentle (just a little slobbery). Just remember to flatten out your hand instead of cupping it and to give a few pellets at a time to not increase the chances of choking. We took a little break from feeding with a lovely presentation from Nancy(?) who showed us how alpaca yarn is made. So soft and it takes a lot of work to clean the yarn! We were then taken to a larger pen to feed 12 female alpacas. They're SO sweet. But we did hightail it once we heard any guttural noises in fear of spit. So many epic photo opportunities and Julie will be happy to take group photos. We were even able to pet their working dog, Tarik(?) a Komondor who was soooo sweet. The last stop was their small but mighty gift shop. Each of us picked something and my fiancé and I picked a pair of adorable handmade alpacas made with baby alpaca fur from Peru. The private tour is a must-do for sure! I would love to go back again :) read more

I am so happy to have the opportunity to come here and meet AND feed the alpacas. This was my first time ever seeing it in real life! Ive always found alpacas to be the most adorable and beautiful thing ever despite how funky they may look but that's what make them unique! Upon arrival, I got there little early and parked on the street, while there is limited amount of parking inside the gates. Julie checked us in and let us look around at the alpacas while we were waiting for the rest of the group to arrive. We then sat under the gazebo where she gave us a little presentation about alpacas and even showed of some of the items their fur can be used. This was a great learning experience for kids and myself. It was great. After the presentation, Julie all passed out some pellets so that we can feed them. We started inside the nursery area where there were 2 babies alpacas! they were seriously the cutest!!! after a few minutes there, we walked downhill to where the males were kept and fed them as well. From there, walked back up the hill to the females and fed them the rest of the pellets we had left. They also have 2 llamas kept here! *TIPS* when feeding the alpacas, be sure to give some love to every alpacas as they do get irritated when not given food lol. The female alpacas were little more aggressive than the males, they DO spit. The females made more sounds than the males also. For the price, it was very reasonable! Lots of great photo opportunity. Julie was a great tour guide! Unfortunately the alpacas has been shaved 2 weeks ago so they weren't flufffy so I definitely want to come back in the winter time when they have their full coat! read more

Searching for another pandemic therapy during these covid times? Or maybe you just love chilling out with animals that are essentially walking pillows. If any of that sounds good to you, consider scheduling a private tour at Alpaca Hacienda! My girlfriend Christina C. and I passed by Alpaca Hacienda and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Julie was our tour guide and she did a marvelous job scheduling out our time, making sure we were well accommodated, and even taking photos for us. First we watched a brief presentation on Alpaca Hacienda's operations and humble beginnings, cool little tidbits about huacaya and suri alpacas, and what we should expect during our visit. Then Julie handed us some food pellets and led us down the hill to the juvenile pens where they keep the young alpacas as well as the one llama they rescued. Those animals sure loved the molasses-spiked pellets. Moreover, all of the animals were derpy as hell! I legit watched as one of the young males face-planted deep into his food bin before shaking me down for treats. Marshall, the friendly bow-legged llama, was also a derp. It was quite amusing and heartwarming. Our experience feeding the adults was quite similar, except they were more aggressive with demanding food if they knew you were strapped with pellets. You may have to request that Alpaca Hacienda thin out the herd as there are so many adult females and they will compete with each other for treats. ___COVID Info___ -Alpaca Hacienda suspended all public tours due to the pandemic. To visit, you must book a private tour. -They had an outdoor wash station installed with soap and other goodies. I would've already appreciated this pre-covid. ___Extra Info___ -Don't park on the side of the driveway. There is a designated parking area along the residence (but no actual spots). -Don't feed more than 2-3 pellets at a time. We want to avoid choking incidents. -Pass by their gift shop for some merch made with fleece from the alpacas you just met. -There is a dog on premises. Going to the Alpaca Hacienda has been on my to-do list for the longest time. When John B. and I were deciding on a safe and fun outdoor activity, I knew we had to try and take a day trip to Temecula to go here. Thankfully, the Hacienda is offering private tours (1-1.5 hours) from Wednesday through Sunday during these COVID times and it is well worth it! I've been to a few alpaca ranches in the past and this is, by far, my favorite. I appreciated that the Hacienda is easy to find and that parking isn't an issue since you go through a gated driveway. As soon as you go through the driveway, it's like an alpaca dream come true. Right off the bat, there are several stables and you see some alpacas chilling together. We were immediately greeted by Julie and learned that she would be our tour guide and give us a primer on alpacas, llamas, and what to expect at the Hacienda. Not only was Julie enthusiastic and clearly knowledgable about alpacas and llamas, but she was friendly and patient the entire time. We watched some cute and informative videos and I even got an alpaca-themed birthday pin. For sure the "pièce de résistance" was the tour and being able to pet, feed, and take photos with the alpacas (and Marshall Law-ma!). Julie provided us with a small bag of feed pellets and gave us some tips on how much to feed them and how to tell when it would be okay to pet them. We took so many photos and had so much fun getting to know all the alpacas and Marshall the llama. And in case you want to take a piece of the Alpaca Hacienda with you, there's a lovely gift shop where I got several items (adorable alpaca lanyard, alpaca toy with real alpaca fleece, and alpaca oven mitts). Like other reviewers mentioned, this is truly the best up-close experience you can get and it's so heartwarming spending time with these beautiful animals. Super duper fun place to visit. I came to celebrate my 45th birthday with some friends. We had a party of 7 and the tour started with a quick 30min intro into alpacas. Then we had an hour of feeding the alpacas and petting them. I totally forgot to ask if Alpacas can be brushed. Overall, these adorable animals were fun even if they sometimes spit. And they make cute little noises. They have such adorable faces with their mop of hair on top. The tour is kid friendly and can only accommodate up to maybe 10 max, or more with a special request. It's a small privately owned farm on a private residence. Make sure to book tickets at least a month in advance! read more

I came here after wanting to see an alpaca up close and in-person. We drove up to the establishment and right away, the premises are clean and well-organized. Our time there started with a 30 minute presentation with information about alpacas and videos. I learned so much and thought it was easy for children to enjoy, but still informative for adults to appreciate. Then, we went down to see the male alpacas, and were able to feed them pellets. The alapcas were friendly and there were no hiccups. After this, we went to another 30 min session that talked about the alpaca fur. This was amazing. They showed us the entire evolution of taking alpaca fur to turning into yarn. It was very informative and interesting. After this, we went to the female pen and feed them. Alpacas overall are so clean and gentle that the interactions were so enjoyable. Jennifer was our guide and was excellent. She took pictures for us and made sure we were informed, but still gave us independence to interact with the alpacas on our own time. AMAZING. Highly recommend! It's so well run, and balances interacting with the animals with learning about them too! COVID Times: We went in Jan 2021, we were the only party there. An alpaca farm in Temecula?? I love our fair local wine region for the unpretentious wineries and rolling golden hills, but sometimes you need a little break from endless wine tasting. Enter the Hacienda, or the best damn $12 I ever spent. Can't convey how much feeding alpacas lifted my spirits. It's only $12 per person for an interminable amount of joy. Sure, that's close to $50 for a family of 4, but I think you'll find that it's worth so much more - the pictures, the laughter, the good mood you'll find yourself in walking away. The experience goes like this: pull into a parking space, wait around with the alpacas for a bit, find a seat and listen to a short, informative presentation. From there, you get to go down the hill to see more alpacas, then go into the pen and feed them. Alpacas are gentle goofballs who only want you for your food, and they are so soft and cute, especially the babies. I had favorites by the end. There's also a small gift shop where you can purchase the finest alpaca yarn wares. I got a Christmas tree ornament. Finally, the ranch dog makes an appearance at the end. One of the most unique experiences! If you're a fan of alpacas or llamas, you should definitely check this farm out. Ended up waiting for several minutes outside of the farm because we arrived early but once the gates open you're in for a treat. The farm is spacious and has plenty of alpacas to take all your pictures. There were two llamas at the farm as well and you can see how distinctively different they look from alpacas! Our guide was informative and gave a great introduction of the farms history, fun facts of the alpacas, and had samples of fur and other crafts related to the animals. The only thing that you should be warned about is the alpacas tendency to spit when upset or fighting for food. One of the younger kids got covered in grass spit because he was slightly careless with his method of sharing the pellets with the alpaca groups. My only regret is not petting an alpaca (I believe you're not allowed to) as I was concerned over getting spit on myself, but feeding the alpacas was already quite the experience. can i give the alpace hacienda more stars! we had such an awesome experience visiting this cute hacienda and julie was such an awesome tour guide!! lets see, llamas, alcapas? no need to go to south america, you can get very intimate w/ them in the alpaca hacienda... but wait there is more? yup! is not just a pet meet and greet, there is also tons of facts and information that is presented in a fun casual format and even better to learn alot before meeting the fun super friendly alpacas. after learning about the history of the hacienda, alpacas. we were giving little food treats to give them. they are super friendly and fun!! check the alpaca hacienda website and make a reso in advanced! reservations required for date and time... nope can't just show up. gate opens 10 mins prior to your reservations. julie was also super helpful in taking photos once inside the fence. the activity all in all took about 1 hour and 30 mins. it is a great activity for small groups. thank you again for everything julie !!! read more

Alpacas were calm but fun. Environment is baby friendly. The gift shop is filled with super cute souvenirs. We had a great time! Don't step in poo! I recommend wearing old sneakers or anything but open toed footwear We definitely will be back here! read more

The Alpaca Hacienda - Alpaca - Attraction Farms Near Me - Temecula, California

Really loved my visit here! My friend had a small b-day gathering and The Alpaca Hacienda was the perfect Covid-Friendly activity for a group. Everything is wide open and outdoors so there is plenty of space to social distance. We also did the picnic add-on to the tour and it was very lovely. The tables are set up right near the alpacas and the grounds have plenty of trees and shade. Our tour guide Julie was very sweet and also very knowledgeable about Alpacas, and the presentation she gave at the beginning was really interesting. My favorite part of course was getting to feed the alpacas which was so fun and also created a lot of great photo moments. They also provide frisbees and bowls you can use to feed the alpacas from if you don't want to use your bare hand. At first I got a frisbee, but after I saw my friends using their bare hands I tried it and it was really fun! I was scared because I remember going to the ostrich farm by Solvang and those things will really aggressively peck at the food. The alpacas are very gentle and after you feed one you realize that you don't need to worry about them biting your hand on accident or anything. They also don't slobber on you, though you will feel a tiny bit of wetness from their mouth. I highly recommend a trip to the Alpaca Hacienda if you're out in the Temecula area. Also, just FYI I recommend using GPS, the driveway comes up pretty quick because it's up a hill so you don't see it until you're right on it.
