There are so many cool places to discover in Temecula! I can't believe this one is a mere five minutes from our home and we had never been there. Thankfully, we fit in an afternoon there with all our grandkids during a recent visit. I bought tickets online ahead of time for our large group. Owner Beth was wonderful to deal with, especially when I needed to add 2 more to the reservation. There's even an option, for a nominal fee, to have an additional 30 minutes picnic time with table/chairs provided. Julie led our visit which started with a super informative presentation in a beautiful gazebo area. She gears the tour to the specific group, so ours leaned towards info for the little ones which was wonderful. She was so patient with lots and lots of little kid questions! It was all so fascinating that I'd love to return to learn more about these amazing creatures. It was so much fun to then interact with all their alpacas and two llamas on their beautiful property. They're so gentle and sweet, and we all enjoyed feeding and observing them. We had lots of time and Julie provided us with food and instructions for feeding the alpacas. There were also plenty of great photo ops available on the grounds. We ended our visit with a stop in their cute gift shop. Many thanks to Beth and Julie for a wonderful afternoon. I'd highly recommend The Alpaca Hacienda for children and adults alike.

Visited the farm a few weeks ago, and I still can't get over how good the experience was. It started with Julie giving us a great introduction about Alpacas and the story of how the farm started. She also went into what to do and not to do when feeding and petting the Alpacas. They had the males and the females separated, so we started with the boys and then had a little lesson with Nancy about the history of spinning and what Alpacas hair is used for, and it was very fun and informative. Then we headed to the girls' section, which had more Alpacas, and I kind of enjoyed more. We even got to pet one of them, and she was very calm. Thankfully I didn't get spit on; however, my husband was in the middle of a small altercation between 2 of the boys but thankfully he survived lol The place is prepared with lots of wipes and a washing station. I would definitely recommend this experience to everyone. It's fun for adults and kids.

Unique experience with lots of alpaca/llama. Educational and interactive. You get to feed the alpacas and pet them. Just be careful not to get spit on! Fun activity overall with friendly host and free parking. There's a small gift shop and you can bring own food to have a picnic if you sign up for picnic table.

Had a wonderful experience today with my relatives at The Alpaca Hacienda. My sister visited previously with her friends and recommended that my cousins and I come to check it out. I am so happy we did! The instructions are very clear when you book the tour - where to park, what to expect, etc. A nice plus was how they sent an automated text reminder of our visit the day before! I appreciated how we were kindly greeted from when we parked, to learning about the history of the owners and how it all got started, to answering commonly asked questions, and the different kinds of alpaca spit. We had a blast seeing the alpacas, taking pictures of and with them, giving them treats, and learning the history behind it all... and of course, seeing the llama! It was also interesting to learn how to create alpaca yarn. I also really loved their gift shop - it was so cute and I wanted to buy everything! Overall, a 5/5 experience, highly recommend visiting! It was so organized and educational. It was definitely worth the time... a truly fun and engaging experience!

My fiancé booked an appointment to celebrate my birthday. I've been wanting to go for so long, and it was even better than I could've imagined. We arrived at the farm a bit early but had some friends that were running a tad late. Our guide was so patient and let us start a bit later. The tour started with a really great interactive presentation on the owners and how everything got started. It was so interesting to learn more about both alpacas and llamas before actually going in and meeting them all. I even got a birthday pin to celebrate which was amazing! We got to feed them in groups, which was such an amazing experience. We started with the girls, and they were all so amazing. They loved crowding around as we fed them and were quite gentle. We also got to meet two of the older males and got some great others with them. It was extra nice since they were separate for a group and we could have more individualized interactions. Finally, we got to meet with the boys in groups. They were a lot more aggressive and nipped us a few times; my fiancé even got a spit button for getting spit on! Thankfully, we were already told about it and there were lots of wipes and freshener to help with everything. I had such an amazing experience and I would love to go again. Definitely something I would recommend to anybody for a small group activity with lots of learning and tons of fun!

Thank you for sharing your cutest tribe of alpacas with our family. We had such a beautiful Sunday at the Alpaca Hacienda Pretty much all you need to know is available on their website and it's easy to book online. If you have additional questions they are very quick to respond. This is such a cute place to visit. We came once before and it was so wonderful that we decided to Xmas gift our families for a visit. A great way to share time with the family and bond. The owner and staff here are so pleasant. They teach you so much about the history, family, and the alpaca pack. Each alpaca is unique you have an opportunity to get hands on, feel them and feed them. Smaller children should be held at all times.

A full family experience. Nothing but smiles and fun for everyone. Started with a short presentation on the Alpacas and the history of this location. Then we all got to feed the alpaca and they were all so friendly and beautiful to be around . The atmosphere was peaceful and clean. My family and I felt safe and attended to. We will definitely be back

Great tour! Spent the day with the family learning about alpacas. The team is so friendly and showed us the process of cleaning and ways to use their fur. Loved that there were opportunities to pet and feed the alpacas. Definitely a memorial experience and had to purchase a small alpaca replica to take home!

I am so glad I was able to experience this before they closed. I had an amazing time learning about alpacas, feeding them, and simply admiring them. Thank you Julie for an incredible time, and thank you Beth for creating such a wonderful space for these animals. I will forever cherish this memory!

TLDR: wonderful people, animals, and merch. Great value. Would give more stars if I couldFor my 52nd birthday, all I wanted was to interact with some Alpacas. So husband and I booked a tour at The Alpaca Hacienda. We got into horrible traffic on the way, and we're about 30 minutes late. I texted to let them know, and they were super kind, adjusting the tour to make sure we got a good value for the time we had until the next tour arrived. Also, I use a walker and they showed incredible care for my safety while respecting my decisions on what I could do. Both Julie and Beth were incredibly welcoming, knowledgeable, and accommodating. But as great as they were... the animals were absolutely the stars of show! Marshall (the only Llama among the Alpacas) was super chill while Poppy (one of "the girls" on the upper portion) clearly believes that ALL FUDZ BELONGS TO POPPY and NOBODY ELSE! Make your reservation. Go to The Alpaca Hacienda. Buy lots of alpaca merch in the store. I guarantee that you will not regret it!

This was a truly amazing experience. We booked a tour for 5 of us and we didn't fathom what we were going to experience- I thought we'd get to pet a few alpacas, but we got to be inside the pen, feeding, petting, and learning all about them. We took tons of photos and got to spend an hour and a half truly immersed. Alpacas are amazing and I am bringing all my friends here!

We had so much fun at The Alpaca Hacienda! The tour was both fun and informative. It's easy to forget you're at someone's house. The views are beautiful and the tour was very well put together. Julie and Nancy were very organized, friendly and welcoming. It was nice to meet the owner Beth as well. You need to schedule your visit but it's well worth it. I appreciate that tours are private so you can have a more intimate experience. The alpacas are so cute and tolerated human visitors better than I expected, I definitely fell in love! Can't wait to visit again!

    Feeding the Alpaca's

We went for my grandsons 11th birthday, we all enjoyed learning about the Alpaca's. Seeing how they shear them (video) and watching a demo on how the hair is prepared for blankets, hats, animals, etc. We mostly enjoyed feeding and petting them. Truly an experience you don't want to miss. **Must have a reservation.

How long is the alpaca tour?

Tour is 1 hour, then optional 30 minutes in gift shop

I don't see where to book an appointment - or how much the tour is. Where can I find that information?

On their website homepage (www.thealpacahacienda.com), there is a "book a private tour" button which takes you to a page with more info and a "Book Now" button at the bottom of the page. This takes you to dates/times/prices to choose from and book.

How much are the alpacas & how old are they?

Sorry, we don't have any for sale.

    Is dogs allowed?

Hi, Mayu, thank you so much for reaching out. We do not allow dogs on our tours not only for liability reasons, but strange dogs actually terrify our alpacas. In cooler months some of our guests have left their furry friends in their cars under our… Read more

Visits are by appointment only, so my husband and I booked a session on Valentine's Day. This was hands down the best animal experience we've had, thanks to the amazing staff and adorable animals. The animals were friendly, engaging, and active, which is a testament to how happy and well cared for they are. Each party is given a complimentary bucket of lettuce to feed the animals, with more available for purchase. We got to pet and feed not only mini pigs, but also goats, ducks, chickens, and even a large, handsome turkey. And because it was Valentine's Day, the staff passed around glasses of sparkling wine for guests, which was an extra special touch. The setting is tucked away in a mountainous area, making it feel like a hidden gem off the beaten path. It was the perfect stop on our way to San Diego. We're definitely looking forward to returning again next time!
