I found Joey on Yelp and hired him to entertain about 20 kids for my daughter's first birthday party. He ended up entertaining them and the adults! He told lots of jokes, did magic tricks, painted faces and did balloon animals. He is a really kind person and made our party memorable. Thanks Joey!

Do yourself a favor and BOOK JOEY now! Just look at these reviews and don't hesitate! I booked him for my son's 3rd bday party and he was a hit! He had all the kids and adults laughing and was able to entertain my huge party of 70+ people. He was on time and did a fun magic show, balloon animals , and then face painting within the span of 2 hours. His rates are very reasonable and he doesn't need to bring any tables or huge props for his magic tricks. If you are at a park though like I was I did notice the balloon animals kept popping so next time I would just leave that out and just do magic and face painting. As soon as the balloons hit the grass or tree or table they would pop and Joey would have to make a new one when there was already a line of kids who had not received one. Joey is a really fun and great addition to any party.

Joe truly was AMAZING! Joe helped me out at a charity event when I couldn't get anyone else to give my nonprofit, Support Sisterz, a good rate for entertainment at our Annual Combat Cancer Walk. I was so busy that I didn't have the pleasure to watch much of what he was doing, but was certainly impressed with what I saw. Magic Joe performed at our daughter's 7th birthday party this weekend, and he was amazing. This party was no small feat; she was celebrating with two of her buddies in our local park: Three birthday girls, ages 7, 8, and 9 - and a *ton* of kids in attendance. So an unstructured space, with a gaggle of girls and boys, of a pretty wide age range... and he kept them all entertained - and made the parents chuckle as well. In addition to his magic act, he did face painting (which the kids loved) - he even kept the kids entertained while they were waiting in line for face painting. And he was just a pleasure to work with. He showed up early, helped the parents out, even with things that weren't part of the act (holding the finish line for the kids' potato sack race, and corralling them for cake), and stayed until every last kid's face painting was done, 20 minutes past his scheduled end time. His rates were very reasonable, and working with Magic Joe was money well spent. We recommend him highly! read more

Magic Joe was indeed Amazing! We booked him for our 7 year old twins birthday party. He kept everyone engaged, as young as 3 to even the older adults at the party. Lots of audience participation, plenty of laughs, and some awe-inspiring magic. We received so many "Wow, where did you find him?!" from many of the adults at the party. Ok this review is late, I had my sons 10th Birthday party last month. I hired Amazing MAGIC Joe & he was great!!! The party was supposed to be outside but it rained that day & Magic Joe still showed up & performed inside my apartment with about 20 people & he did an AMAZING JOB!! THE kids & parents were very entertained as was I !!! He made all of us laugh & wowed us with his magic tricks & jokes. I highly recommend him his price is very reasonable for 2 hours. Totally recommend Joey for any kind of event. We had him come for my daughter's birthday, and he's definitely got at least 100 jokes up his sleeve. Adults were having a blast laughing the whole time. I hired Joey for my daughter's 8th birthday party, and he did a great job entertaining the kids! He has a lot of energy, and kept the kids engaged and attentive the whole time, which is no easy feat. He is reasonably priced too (cash only), and you can book him for one hour or two. We hired him for an hour, and he was able to incorporate both magic and balloon animal making into that hour. 10/10! I hired Joe for our neighborhood 4th of July party and he was AMAZING. He was so charismatic and kind to all guests and really knows how to work a crowd. He did great tricks for the kids and also circled around and did close up card tricks for the adults. He also did face painting AND balloons included in his rate. I've hired magicians for previous events, and Joe is the best I've seen. I highly recommend him for any event you may have and plan to book him again for my next event. He entertained both kids and parents at our event and was amazing from the minute he got there to the minute he left. He packs a lot into his show from magic tricks, balloon animals, and comedy. I was able to book Joe last minute(a day before) and he came through. He was able to squeeze me into his schedule. This was for my 5 year old daughter and her classmates at my home. He was punctual and had good entertainment going not only for the kids, but the adults as well. Got the crowd involved. My daughter had a great time. Book Joey and don't stress about entertainment. We got Joey to come perform at our daughter's first birthday party with about 20 other kids. Joey kept them entertained and even did balloon animals and face painting. His specialties also include comedy - he had something for the adults to enjoy as well, and he's got energy and enthusiasm. My daughter has been in classes, MTC, BDC, summer camps, showcases, musicals; she's been cast in ensembles, bit parts, and leads; she's created best friends, danced in competitions, sung on her own, and formed memories that will last a life time all because of Broadway Arts Studio. It turns out she was never asked to audition, instead she was give a minor, brief dance role for the play. Needless to say, she was disappointed, and I felt somewhat deceived having paid nearly $1000 for this two week training. It certainly appeared to us that they signed up way too many kids for number of parts available in this play. So in summary, I don't feel this was a good use of our time and money and I would not recommend this business.

At Focus she has studied ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap, acro/tumbling, contemporary, and hip-hop. Her teachers have always been superb and the variety and quality of the instruction at Focus is far superior to that of her former dance studio. Through dance she has learned grace, rhythm, and balance. Through dancing at Focus she has learned, friendship, teamwork, and determination. The highlight of each dance season is the annual Concert (don't call it a recital!) that Focus produces in June at the end of the School year at the Barclay Theater on the UCI campus. Not only does it give the dancers the opportunity to be exposed to a "real" dance production, it is a delight for the parents, grandparents, and friends to watch their children perform on the big stage, in fabulous costumes with proper stage lighting and sound and hair and makeup. It's worth every penny!

However, the issue is not about receiving another class--we attend at the scheduled time because that is when we are available. Scheduling an additional makeup class does not truly compensate for the lost time and requires us to make an extra trip, which is inconvenient and unnecessary.

Our family went in summer 2018, 2019, and 2022. The gentleman next to us had sat in every type of seat in the house, and he confirmed that each seat has a good view. For a seat on the stage floor, there are cushions, but you must be comfortable sitting on the floor for about 50 min at a time. Most seats are comfortable. Some seats use bar-stool type seating that may cut into your thighs a bit. On a clear night, enjoy the moon and stars from the top level! One time, there was some aircraft noise from the airport, but that was unusual. Tickets. We did not see any at-the-door sales; all sales were in advance. When you buy on the website, the Barclay will email you good directions two days before the performance. The e-ticket says "print this ticket" but it is OK to just show it on your phone. From home. Bring an extra layer of clothing because summer nights can be relatively cool and breezy at any level in the theater. Some people may like to bring a seat cushion. Park in the UCI Student Center Parking Structure for $13, through 11:59 pm the day of the performance. Arrive about 7:20 to give yourself plenty of time to stroll to the theater. Signage is good. The location on Apple Maps is not correct and Google Maps does not give a location; hopefully that will change. At intermission, restrooms are signposted, a minute's walk from the theater in the adjacent UCI Library building. M&Ms or Gummi Bears cost $1; paper cups of water are free. After the show finishes, some cafes and restaurants in the University Center are still open: most fast-food restaurants, Cha for Tea, or Eureka. Access the University Center by using the Watson pedestrian bridge across Campus Dr.

You can also get the close caption CaptiView device from the service desk if you need subtitles. Its a device that sits in the cupholder that has closed captions or audio descriptions. Its great for those friends/parents where English isn't a first language so they can read the dialogue since accents are hard to understand for them. The seats are comfortable with fully recliners in all auditoriums and heat/cooling recliners in some of them. The restrooms are always super clean and the snack bar is on point too with fresh popcorn always. The best deals are the Tue/Wed 50% off nights for matinee showing too for those without AList!
