We called the shop and they came out the following day to check out the issue, without hesitant they told us that they will replaced the chest for us because the drawer was broken. Tear was made by the wood frame on the loveseat structure. If you're not going to cover seam repairs, than build a better product that won't tear under NORMAL use.
