About 6 customers in the whole restaurant and told us we needed to bring our bill up to him rather than get it from us. I told him his attitude was poor and his customer service needed work. We love The Angry Oven! The outdoor seating is a must for summertime. They have a great menu and a full bar, live music on weekends and a large patio. My partner and I take our sxs here often and it's so easy to get to from the orv trails. The staff is very friendly and always willing to accommodate any request. Have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. Our family has a little cabin in the area and every time we are heading back down state we swing in to grab a pizza and cheese bread. When our drinks came in generic solo cups, that was our first clue. We should've got up and left. I don't know how you can mess up a Coney dog, but they sure did.And the pizza was nasty , and I paid three dollars for extra onions , and there wasn't even hardly an onion on there. I was pretty stoked about trying this place because I love a a fire cooked pizza but this was a missed opportunity. The space is nice, but the music outside was too loud so we sat inside. The pizza had charred bits which is to be expected but the pizza was soggy on the bottom and required you to fold it in half to give it enough body to eat it. This is not how a wood fired pizza is supposed to be. I noticed that the oven was set at 375. You can't cook a pizza at 375. It needs to be at 425 or higher. Also we had gotten the bbq chicken pizza but there was hardly any bbq sauce on it. Overall, it really had no flavor. Cilantro is also a typical addition to this kind of pizza and it would have really helped. Our server was friendly and attentive so that was nice at least. I don't think we would return to this place which makes us sad as a wood fire pizza oven is a great addition to the area but sadly misused. read more

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. The service was fantastic, the food was very tasty. We had the brisket sandwich and Mac n cheese. The brisket was a little dry, but the flavor was fantastic. The house sauce was a bit spicy for my wife so I mixed it with their BBQ sauce and WOW!!!! What a great sauce! Prices were cheap for the portion size. This place is definitely worth stopping in. We drove 40 mins to eat here and I'm glad we did. We will definitely come again. read more

Let me first start with being greeted at the door by Scott... Just a warm welcoming... It was our first time and it was amazing... We started with an antipasto salad, ordered a pizza ..We were so full from the amazing salad and pizza. We ordered a dessert -cherry calzone to go, it was phenomenal‼The inside was like an old log cabin... extremely inviting... We definitely will be back to try the other yummy items off the menu... I have frequented the Angry Oven since they opened several years back. I was not impressed with my last visit. We showed up Thursday for a couple of drinks. The first thing I noticed was how filthy the glass front door was. It obviously had not been cleaned in a long time. When we entered, the employees were sitting on their phones. We ordered drinks from the bar and sat outside. Nobody came and waited on us. The bathrooms are DISGUSTING! They obviously had not been cleaned in a LOOOOONG time. The next night they had live music so we headed back to the Angry Oven. Once again, we sat outside and nobody waited us. The bathrooms still had not been cleaned and this was close to 30 hours later. (I took pictures, but I cannot bring myself to post them and hurt this business). During our evening, at one point, the staff went to the side of the building and were getting high. Customers were commenting on it, as well as the entertainer. I was so excited when the Angry Oven opened in St. Helen years ago, they have so much to offer, but they need to make some changes. Before posting, I did try to get a hold of the owner to discuss my concerns, but was unable to. This is our go to for pizza. We order the extra large, square Sicilian Supreme with a house made pesto drizzle. We've had it probably 20 times. It's exactly the same every time we order. Consistantly delicious. Had one honest mistake on an order and the owners promptly made it right. Top notch owners, staff, and food. Best pizza in northern Michigan. Try the build your own salad. The pizza is so good. I like pan pizza and my husband likes thin crust. It was the perfect mix. Super cheesy too! We stopped in midday from snowmobiling. The quality of the pizza was poor, the cheese was not good, the pepperoni was pretty much tasteless and the dough was very bland as well. A group of us ate here last fall and the pizza was very good. Cooks in 90 seconds in their super hot brick oven. Very cool that you can get a personal 6" pizza fixed your way for only $6. The only ding was no beer . Looking forward to a return visit this summer! read more

I will never go back. I ordered 4 pizzas the other day and was quoted a price of $45 and some change. I looked at my bank account today and they charged me $60. I called and talked to the manager/owner. And he said the order should of been like $58. So when I look at their website it says a 14 inch is 12.99 and a 12 inch is 10.99. I ordered threec14 inch and one 12 inch. Which comes up to 49.96 plus $3 for tax. Which should of made my total $52.96. He never said let me give you you change you are owed. Nothing. What he did say was "we are the cheapest pizza place around" , "any where else you would of paid $100 for 4 pizzas" well obviously he hasn't been anywhere else because I've member paid $100 for 4 pizzas ever. If his establishment wanted to cheat their customers out of money then they don't deserve to have customers. I wI'll go someplace that won't cheat them.
