The service my family and I received was less than good. We walked into the restaurant and told the host that we had six people. Emily is her name. We were seated right away and our waitress came over promptly to take drink orders and then our food order. She repeated everything back to us and headed off. About 10-15 minutes later, she returned and said she thought she might have forgotten to put in one of our pizzas. We reminded her of the order, she acknowledged it, and said it would just be "a little later." Well -- an hour later, we were still waiting. Our kids were melting down, everyone was starving, and still no pizza. Worse than the delay was the complete lack of communication. When we asked our waitress for an update, her response was: "I have no idea how long." No apology, no sense of urgency. The manager was nowhere to be found -- apparently hiding in the kitchen. At no point did anyone come over to acknowledge the ridiculous wait, apologize sincerely, or offer any kind of compensation. It felt like they were prioritizing takeout orders over people actually dining in the restaurant, which made the experience even more frustrating. When my husband finally complained, we still didn't get much of a response. By the time the food arrived, we were all exhausted and cranky. To be fair, the food was good -- but absolutely not worth the experience. We will not be back. With a little bit of care, communication, and accountability, this could've been handled so much better. read more

We went here a couple days ago while we were camping. They have the BEST ranch dressing ever made! The cheese sticks were awesome and we ordered a small pizza and it was delicious! Our server Brent waited on our table! He was very nice and really took care of us. The restaurant is huge inside. We went at dinner time so there were a lot of people, but we got seated right away. They have a bar on the right when you walk in which is a decent size. Everyone who was working this past Saturday were very friendly especially Brent! He really took great care of us even though they were swamped! The ambiance was nice and bathrooms were clean. Full disclosure, I am an idiot. Yep, that's right. Silly me went to G's pizza (now closed) for years whenever in Houghton Lake. We literally went there every single time. It's gone, we are hungry and I am gluten free. Finding gluten free options in Northern Michigan is not easy. My search brings me to Buccilli's. Turns out they have gluten free pizza. Turns out their pizza is AMAZING. Also Turns out they only have the sweetest nicest staff working there. Everything about our dining experience was really great. The host was super friendly and we were seated very quickly at a booth by the bar. Our server was excellent, asked if we were new, made some recommendations and checked on us frequently. I actually tried the gluten free pizza the way our server said she likes, without red sauce. I never go without red sauce...proof again that I am an idiot because this garlic olive oil was amazing. Probably top 5 gluten free pizzas I have ever had, and I've tried a lot. My husband enjoyed his chicken ranch pizza full of gluten and we shared an antipasto salad that was very tasty as well. Salads are fresh and the GF pizza is on point! They have a salad bar that is OK (I prefer the house side salad), a cute little bar and you rarely have to wait for a table. Service is incredibly important to me and the ladies here are always on top of it. Love it! read more

The pizza had decent flavor, but was way underdone and we requested that it be browned on top. The center of the top was not even warm and cheese was barely melted. Pick up line was practically out the door and dine in was full; but understandable as it was Labor Day weekend but here is what earned them 2 stars; the greeter or hostess seems to hates her job and therefore is very unwelcoming. She didn't smile or welcome us in, she just had her head in her hand and immediately said, it's an hour and a half wait. When I turned to ask my friend if they wanted to wait or go, she sighs, loud enough for us to hear, and asks us to move while decide. It took literally 5 seconds for me to consult with my friend. I understand a busy restaurant and tourists but the hostess is the face of the business and we were put off by her attitude. We had an amazing time at Buccilli's Pizza! My family and I visited this restaurant for dinner, and let me just say the experience was immaculate. We had a respectful young man tend to our table and he was extremely patient with us, as we were a large group. My son, who has a stutter, wanted to order for himself, and he was extremely kind to him even though my son took over two minutes to order. The pizza was delicious and so were the "Cilly Sticks." I have never experienced ranch this delicious before in my life. Let's just say there were no leftovers! Thank you Bucilli's pizza for making my family feel welcome and treating us like royalty! Buccilii's has come to be one of my favorite pizza places. Maybe it's because it's nostalgic, maybe it's because it truly is amazing ... let's just say it's a combination of both! The first time I ever visited Houghton Lake, my boyfriend insisted we get Buccilli's. I'm never one to turn down pizza, so I was pretty pumped. He spoke highly of the establishment and I was no disappointed! I've only tried the cheese and pepperoni pizza, but I'm sure everything else is amazing as well! I love how small and crisp the pepperoni's are. Perfection! A small pizza is about 6 pieces. We stopped in on a Saturday night and the wait time was reasonable. Service was outstanding and welcoming. With limited options in the area this place will do just fine. Sauce is traditional somewhere between sweet and savory. The crust is thick but not quite Chicago style deep dish thick. The sausage/pepperoni amounts were slightly above average. The cheese ratio was average. It is triangular cut. Like I said this place will do just fine for pizza. We also had an antipasto salad which was fresh and old quality meat and cheese. I liked how the pepperoncini's were diced. If I am around here again I would order from this place. read more

So our family was at a hotel local to Buccilli's and needed dinner. As we enjoyed ourselves in the pool, we asked some locals what they would recommend and all four of them said Buccilli's without skipping a beat! I knew I had to give them a try. So we ordered delivery to our hotel and were not disappointed. The kids and husband loved their pizza and my wings were spot on!! I apologize as my summer has been super busy and this post is in retrospect so the details aren't my typical but I give them 5 stars for service, friendliness, timeliness, hot food cooked to perfection.
