We went to the local bark park and they have a swimming area for dogs. They provided a bunch of nice dog toys and there is an area for adults to get drinks and other drinks for kids. There is also a couple of different sitting areas that they have misters going at all times. The place was clean and had a great vibe to it!! You do have to go to a consultation before being allowed to become a member, but this is a great process because all of the dogs seem to get along really well!! We love going to this place and our dog loves it too!! They also had a little photo shoot set up with lights and a backdrop. It was a great addition for Mother's Day weekend!! read more

We had a pretty last minute request to have our cat stay for their boarding services for several days since our usual cat sitters were unavailable, and they accommodated! The boarding service is mostly for dogs, but they do offer limited number of boarding for cats located indoors. They can provide litter, food, and water if you'd like, but you can also provide your own food if your cat has dietary restrictions. They offer playtime for your cat during the day. We were under the impression that photos will be automatically uploaded to the boarding booking portal, but we had to ask for photos of our cat during his stay. They gladly provided photos after requesting them. The staff was very friendly. Overall, we would come back here! read more

My pup Rocco has been going to daycare here since he was 5 months old. The staff is so friendly and kind and you can tell they all really love what they do. He always gets so excited the second he steps out of the car and is nice and relaxed for the rest of the evening when he gets home. He also just started swimming and it's the most adorable thing too. Plus they do fun photos every so often based on holiday. This month they're doing a Mother's Day theme. I can also add that scheduling day care is super easy on their portal, and there's an option for boarding too. He's been boarded twice, and equally enjoys it. Love getting to see all the photos they post! The only thing I wish they had were cameras so that I could pop in to see him in action. My boxer just got back from 3 weeks of training with Kristin and I'm overjoyed to have her back. She is a rescue and got so aggressive toward other dogs, animals, kids, trash cans, bikes etc. that I considered rehoming her. Kristin trained her and on day one of having her back, she was off leash on the river trail. The difference in her demeanor before and after training is like night and day. Now it's up to me to keep up the good behavior but it's been almost effortless so far. We've taken her out to restaurants, on walks etc., and she's such a good girl now. My baby is back and I couldn't be happier!! 10/10 recommend Kristin and the staff at The Animal Den! read more

My ASPCA Love on Loan dog Vic attended Animal Den twice a week for 6 years for daycare and overnight boarding one day per month for the same time period. Upon retiring, I haven't used Animal Den as regularly. I needed day care for next week due to a parent's medical issue and contacted Animal Den to make a reservation with all Vic's records updated. I was told he would have to be reevaluated ($44) the day before his day care appointment from 7-11 which is all I needed his actual daycare for. Today, out of the blue, I received an email informing me that his reservation had been rejected. I don't remember Animal Den being so callous and unhelpful. I am, however, happy to have found Wag Hotel which employs folks who are caring, helpful, and exceptionally kind. read more

We miss the Animal Den so much, though my dog probably misses it the most. The outdoor space and pool were such a treat for our dog; he was always so excited to go into the building when we took him. We occasionally heard about his play time with friends, but it always sounded like he had different friends. I'm not really sure how well they ever knew my dog despite our going there pretty consistently for a year, but that's ok. We also boarded him a few times, including two one-week stays. They kindly accommodated our dog's somewhat confusing medical regimen. To be frank, there are two different boarding options that I never quite understood the distinction; I think one was more like individual kennels and the other was a big open room with cots. Either way, both arrangements seemed to work for my dog. I wish they had more than 2x/year specials, but I understand that a small business needs to do what it needs to do to keep running, especially during this time. read more

I wouldn't recommend for boarding. During the day, dogs are crated all day but let out to play for 30 minutes 5-6 times a day. Then crated all night again. It may work for some dogs, but I don't personally know a dog that would only want to be out of a crate for maximum 3 hours a day. One time after boarding, our dog came home and his voice was hoarse and we found out that's what they do. We'll use them if we absolutely need to in a pinch, but not easily again. 2 stars because they're nice at the front desk. read more

My friend has been taking her dog to the Animal Den for years. Since our usual spot is now closed due to the pandemic, I decided to check out this place for potential lodging of my dogs. I called the Animal Den to inquire about the necessary immunizations, etc. required for my dogs. The employee was extremely helpful and professional. Due to the Animal Den having a pool, my pups needed an additional test by my veterinarian to make sure it was safe for them and other dogs to be in the pool. After my dogs were cleared by my veterinarian, they were scheduled for a complimentary daycare session so the employees can examine my dogs' temperaments. The Animal Den's employees seemed like they genuinely care about the animals. I appreciated them giving me a tour of the facility and a report card of each of my dogs during their day care session. I did board my dogs for three nights last week, and I appreciated that their photos were posted on the Animal Den's Facebook page. My dogs seemed like they were well cared for and I will definitely use the Animal Den again. read more

How extra am I when it comes to my dog? Extremely. Basically, I work hard so that my dog can have a better life. I wanted to start off with thanking the Animal Den Resort & staff for giving Jeffrey one of his best day ever. *I am writing this review not based on boarding, just the swim center alone. I took Jeffrey, our golden retriever puppy to a Splash Party hosted by SSPCA over the summer time and he had an absolute BLAST. So when I found out that their swim center is available for party booking, I knew this was where we wanted to host his first birthday pawty. We wanted a fun, safe, and private place where no random dogs are going to run up on mine or anyone else's puppers (in a bad way). You never know when that's going to happen at a place like the dog park. The Animal Den Resort offered the perfect setting for this adorable celebration. Our private party rental came with a party room that can accommodate 20+ people. The rental comes with chairs and a table. Guests are welcome to bring extra of anything else they may need. You could also do half hour rentals. The staff are extremely friendly, attentive, and accommodating. They constantly made sure we have everything we need and help isn't at all hard to find when we need assistance with anything. The rental also gave us access to their splash pool. It isn't temperature controlled, but for a double coated retriever, it was no problem at all. They also have plenty of chairs set up in the yard area surrounding the splash pool. Animal Den do require a signed waiver for each dog upon access on top of their up to date proof of vaccinations (bordetella, dhpp, and rabies). The waiver could be found online and submitted electronically. Being that it is a splash pool, the water is pretty shallow, but with the deepest part being right in the center. If you have a larger breed dog, there may not be any swimming. Jeffrey is an almost full grown golden retriever (a little on the small side for his breed), so he is able to swim towards the center. Either way, every puppers there big and small had a blast swimming and splashing in the pool. Even though it's January, it didn't stop most of them from playing in the water. Highly recommend this place to host a dog party, fundraiser, or even to just attend their open sessions. Love this place and their staff very much! read more

This is a clean, pleasant, efficient space to board, entertain and groom dogs. I've used the groomers here for a long time, but decided to try a groomer closer to home. The new groomers did an excellent job, but my dog, who is unusually friendly and boisterous, shrank from the staff. So, I'm back with Animal Den where my dog jumps with joy when staff come to get her. It's much farther away, but what can I do? My dog rules. There's an excellent, safe dog park where all dogs are screened for inoculations and behavior and there's always someone on staff available to mediate problems. The owners all seem to be attentive and above-average pet parents. read more

Super simple to get an appointment and find someplace for my dog to go in 24 hour notice during the holidays. 3 weeks later, they need detail of the focal exam... that would've been nice to know 3 weeks ago when I had to schedule a vaccine! Management and the owner himself don't care to give any respect to those who ask questions about a situation that is related to your pet. you don't always see Pit Bulls at this spa but when you do fingers will be pointed directly to that animal if something major were to happen. We have been taking our Trudy to the pet resort for years now and she loves it there! It's very fun while on vacation to see pictures of your fur baby on Facebook. Impressive! My dog had his evaluation today to do daycare regularly. He has attended other facilities in the area. A big thing for me is for a pool to be available because my dog is high energy and loves swimming...perfect combo for him to get tired. As other facilities do, I expected a debrief of what happened today but I was given a detailed report card that matches my dog personality (first day they've met him). Also, he was a bit damp when I picked him up which was a good sign of him being in the pool all day long. He was so tired he did not make a sound on the way home. This facility is hands down the absolute best boarding and daycare place for your dog. They have three separate packs for daycare and they rotate them through the playards . There are lots of climbing structures and a really nice in-ground Beach style swimming pool that the doggies get to use at daycare . They don't have access to the pool the entire day but that's part of the rotation so they get to use it at some point during each day. The staff is incredibly caring and understanding they really go above and beyond to make sure that the dog has a wonderful experience. The local Bark Park which is their members only dog park open on the weekends and a couple of evenings is also really an amazing and safe place to have your pup interact with other dogs and to swim. Unfortunately my dog is a little too anxious to truly enjoy the environment but they were Beyond accommodating to her needs and they really tried so hard to make her comfortable . I hope in a year or so my dog will gain more confidence and that we can return it is a great facility and I cannot recommend them highly enough ! read more

So I see two posts about similar things happening here. I picked up my dog on 12/17 after one nights stay here and noticed he had a cut on his back. After seeing the past two reviews this is a reoccurring issue. My dogs cut is scabbing at this point because I've applied stuff to help it along. I've been having my dog come here this past year with only one issue with a woman being extremely rude at the front desk of the play area. I'm concerned as to why this is happening so often as it should never be an issue. I do really like this place, especially because my dog seems to love it as well, but I'm just not sure as to why dogs are leaving here injured. I get dogs rough house and rumble around but this has never been something my dog has come home with previously. Not to mention all of the dogs he's been around and the way he plays. I want to be able to trust them with my dog while either being out of town or wanting to drop him off to use the play days after I purchased a play package with them. I'm hoping this will not be reoccurring because I truly love the service they provide and the pool during the summer. I will let my dog go back once more to see if this is something that will happen again, I'm just hoping this was purely an accident even though three dogs have all suffered some bites/scratches and how those two people were completely dismissed when their concerns were expressed. read more

*Note, this is a review of their Doggie Daycare facility/service only* When we first started looking for a place to take our dog for doggie daycare, we had trial days at two other doggie daycare facilities in the area. We wanted to send him because he is the friendliest dog ever with people and other dogs but has extreme isolation anxiety. One facility was an absolutely horrible experience, I actually cried on the drive home so upset I left him there for a few hours. The other facility was great, had wonderful staff, etc but I didn't love their actual facility. When we trialed at Animal Den I knew we found his second home. I wasn't sure about the pool since at 14 months, he was still completely afraid of the water. The staff worked with him to encourage him to play with his friends and in about 3 months he was a true water dog! They also put emphasis on providing the dogs with enrichment activities instead of just being "chaparones" of a dog park like some other daycares. They have ball time, agility activities, reading time for naps, bubble time, etc. He's been going to Animal Den M-F for the past two years and I swear there are days when he doesn't want to leave!!! The staff is fabulous with the dogs, they honestly seem to love each and every one of them and treat each one like its their favorite. Unlike some other dog daycares, the staff is consistant as they have low turnover so the dogs build wonderful relationships with them. I only train my dog using positive reinforcement and I always see their staff treating the dogs with care and compassion. As for cost, purchasing their daycare packages makes the cost only a few dollars more than it would be to have someone come to the house once a day for a 30 minute potty break or dog walk. I never worry about my dog's safety or mental health while he's at Animal Den and that is a HUGE weight off of my shoulders while I am at work. I would highly recommend Animal Den to any dog mom/dads. Honestly, I am jealous that my dog gets to spend the day there. read more

My first experience with Animal Den was to get a tour. I read the website and it said to come by (no appointment needed) to receive a tour. I went at 10am and was told they were not doing tours because they were short staffed. I explained that they should change their website as I had taken off of work to come by for a tour. I was then told it would be six weeks before my dog could come for an evaluation day. I set the appointment, uploaded my vaccination records and waited for my evaluation day to arrive. I even went so far as to call and make sure that they had received my vaccination records to which they acknowledged receipt. I asked if they needed anything else and was told no. On the day of evaluation before arriving I went so far as to double check to ensure that the vaccination records were in the portal. I arrived at Animal Den and asked for a tour. I was told again that they were short staffed and could not provide a tour. I was then told I needed a fecal matter which was missing from my vaccination records. They called my vet who did not have it on file. I explained that this would have been nice to know in advance of me wasting another day off from work. I was so frustrated that I just decided to cease my efforts to move forward. Why do I do all of this work up front researching an organization, providing all requested documentation and I can't get a tour and more importantly I should have been told I was missing something in my vaccination records before I took off of work and showed up for NOTHING. This is our "Lucy's" home away from home if we ever need overnight care and lodging for her and she absolutely loves her doggie daycare play dates there. They overnight lodge her in her own space but in an area with other like sized dogs. The staff supervises scheduled playtime amongst them when she's boarding. For her daycare play dates it's free playtime with her doggie friends and staff all around. In summer we have the option for her to partake w/swim vest ( if needed) in their built-in shallow wading pool. Their prices are comparable to the industry. The staff is friendly, helpful and flexible. Our girl literally pulls us on her leash to get IN THE DOOR!! We've been longtime clients with THE ANIMAL DEN for their great care and the happy girl we pick up who sleeps all night after a full day of play! read more

I haven't really left many reviews, but I wanted to take a moment to say that I really love this place. The price is fair relative to nearby options, the pool is a nice touch, and the staff are always amazing. I've been taking my dog here for about a year and a half and he loses his mind with excitement, not even looking back at me trying to run out to play, so I know he loves it here as much as the staff seem to love him. I love that they post cute pictures of the pets on their Facebook page, too, so I get a peek at my pup playing. Cannot emphasize enough how great this place is. Every time I leave my dog at Animal Den he comes home with kennel cough. Something is going on at this place. They did send an email some months ago (about 12 months ago) acknowledging this problem and stated they would take measures and be extra clean. I sent my dog there after they claimed they improved their sanitation. My dog came home with kennel cough again. My puppy who has separation anxiety LOVES coming to the daycare here. I was convinced he would hate it since he cannot even be away from me when I use the restroom but I am always pleasantly surprised to see him wagging his tail as soo as we get to the parking lot. The staff is always welcoming and somehow manage to remember my dog's name even though they are always extremely busy. Their booking system is very quick and efficient! They are also great at communicating when any illnesses are going around so you can monitor your pet immediately. I could go on and on about how amazing this place is. read more
