I always wondered why there are so few reviews for such a popular retailer. I discovered recently it's because they don't allow any critical or negative reviews - even the slightest ones on their website. I wrote one review for a product that was moderately critical and it never showed up on their website. I recently submitted a 3 star review for a mini excavator I paid $10,000 for. The purpose was to provide them and their customers an honest opinion of what I liked and disliked about it so prospective purchasers could make an informed buying decision. After a couple of days, I got this email from them: " Our staff has read your review and values your contribution even though it did not meet all our website guidelines. Thanks for sharing, and we hope to publish next time!" So what's the point of sharing if honest reviews aren't allowed??? I rely on reviews to make informed purchases. I would have expected more from Princess Auto.

PRINCESS AUTO! lol! No car parts here and barely any accessories! More like a Lee Valley Tools. This company is Canadian which is cool and more stores are currently being built. Staff were friendly. Dog treats up front! The store was crammed full of stuff. Nothing fancy. Kind of surplus store meets Canadian Tire. Perfect for the Mr Fix It type guy.

If you are familiar with the brand, Princess Auto sells all kinds of car maintenance products, and shelving and other items to outfit your garage to do the repairs and maintenance required. They have things to fix your car: wheels and tires (after all, it's winter now... are your snow tires on?); doodads to check the pressure of your tires; trailer hitches; and all and sundry for the DIY car enthusiast. So why do *I* like it when I don't know the right side of a wrench? Because they are Canadian owned and operated, and they sell work gloves and those heating things to keep your hands and feet warm in the winter. I go there maybe every 3-4 months to check out what is on display. It's different than a hardware store, but also good and useful.

The only issue has been our experience with our Kitchen Aid induction cooktop. Thinking of buying one...? Please don't! Our 3-year old cooktop started beeping and shutting down. The Extended Warranty covered the part and after two tries the service contractor called Whirlpool (the granddaddy of all appliance companies!). They said the "part was no longer available!" They meant the Induction top board not the ubiquitous control board. As a result our Induction top/ stove is no longer reparable and is basically junkable! So we are looking to replace a 3 yo stove! So UA gets 5 stars, but Kitchen Aid gets 0! How to compute the review?

The appliance was delivered at 5.30am by a very intimidating man who refused to unpack it or lift it onto the kitchen counter. I am a 60+ year old woman and was alone in the house. His parting comment was thar he expected a positive review of the service. Universal Appliance was totally disinterested in my experience. 5.30am was dark (it was Winter), obviously, I was still in bed, clearly not expecting a delivery. I struggled to lift the appliance and had to ask a neighbour for help. Universal Appliance had said that instillation was covered by the additional cost but were dismissive of my experience. The experience was, quite frankly both disturbing and threatening. I have bought an Aga stove and the Sharp multi function microwave from this company. I will never patronize them again.

I was familiar with Modern Masters Metallic paint but was not sure what color would be best to use to try and repair this print. She recommended the Brick color and she was spot on. (2nd photo). I do not recall her name but would like to acknowledge her expertise. This is why I keep going back to Randall's especially with projects such as this. They know their stuff.

Well... I live close to here, went through a move. So, of course I need this place here and there…read more It is nice and small. I cannot stand the big box hardware stores. I don't know how to find what I need, too much stuff. Too many huge aisles. This location, I always get a great parking spot in front as it's never busy. In late summer, I remember coming here also to grab corn and other fresh farm things from a stand in the lot. Handy. Yummy. The down side here is that there is no one asking if you need help and staff at the register are not that knowledgeable. It's also very expensive. Selection not great (even re light bulbs) BUT, they do have some unique things that I've only seen here. Some in housewares, would make great gifts. I grabbed the mug I took a pic of below as an example. Anyways, I've bought many an item here and I know I'll be back. Convenience gets it 3 stars.

This hardware store is much improved since it became a Home Hardware (it used to be a Rona…read morecorporate store before Lowe's bought them out). It's now brighter and cleaner, more inviting. And although I miss the kitchen set up display, I do love the addition of the giftware section! This shop has a small-town, personal feel, which the larger chains are lacking. It's still not a huge store, and the customer service section (round desk in the centre of the store) is still where it used to be. At least this store sells some lumber, and tiles. And there's an area / room for contractors to do their business, too. The biggest bonus to me is that it's still Canadian! Bravo! I will be back.
