If I could rate this store lower I would. Went to buy SODIMM 32GBx2 - clerk didnt know what "SODIMM" was (I mean its ok, I guess "laptop memory" also works), and transaction was pretty quick. Went back today to return it as per their policy, and was told the manager went on break, 'ok, cool - when will he be back?' "Around 30 minutes" - 35 minutes pass, I come back "Oh, sorry manager is still not here yet, come back another day or in the afternoon when the technician is here." Like holy cow, how can an associate not be able to do a simple return? Is it so hard? Ive returned things to associates at Walmart in less time. Called CS - they called the store and by the time the call was done, the manager had finally returned, I went back and completed the return. Sufficed to say lost 40 minutes of my time and $3.75 to return simple RAM. First time shopping here, and my last. Corporate should save it's money and close this location judging by the other reviews. read more

I went into Canada Computers around Christmas for gift shopping. I liked this store and would recommend it to anyone reading this review. I noted the other reviews here were not even local, this a Yelp war? When I went in, the store had only been open for maybe a few months, they were still training staff and I could tell some were pretty new. Still there were staff in there that were very helpful to me and answered all my questions. They were also very friendly. Its true they don't have anything you can't buy online, but the prices are similar or the same to buying online. I found them very competitive and better prices then other downtown shops. Also I find it a big advantage to buy in the store because of there is no shipping or wait time and easy returns at no cost! To me, this is a big advantage of having an on-line retailer with a physical frontage. Think fragile computer parts and UPS, not good. This store offers all the advantages I talk about in my NCIX review, but they are now permanently closed. This location is also more convenient for me close to my work, so its great. They have ALOT of stock, its a large store. For me it blows away the competition of the other downtown stores and was cheaper for the same products. I will shop at this store again, I'd say its my current favorite computer store in Ottawa. read more

I bought a simple lightning cable (10 - 12 $) ; he was working perfectly when it stopped suddenly. Bring back to the store , since I didn't have more the ticket , nothing to hope. I mean that so cheap. To lose a reputation for a lightning cable ... come on ! read more

To start with, ignore the bad reviews on a few sites. Ive only been shopping at Canada Computers for a few months but Ive become a regular because it has been a pisitive experience. Unfortunately, when you have integrity and courage the goons sometimes come out. And that is clearly what is happenng here. Give this store a try and see for youself. Those bad reviews are there because this business doesn't back down to bullies. Anyway, i had shopped at the Orleans store and Merivale and as I said, i liked it. Andt hen i tried Bank Street and my opinion changed. It got better! My story is long and complicated but I think the guys at Canada Computers on Bank Street in Ottawa did me a major solid a few days ago when they sold me a really respectable computer at a ridiculously low price. Ill just say that I am being harassed by some really powerful people and they routinely call up the places I do business with and create drama for me. I don't know for sure if they did it with this store, but they did with the computer shop down the street that ive never even set foot in so.... If you re reading this I want you to know it was a really big deal for me -- nobody helps me. And also, you did the right thing. I am where I m because I tried to help people and im still dong that. What those thugs do is absolutely repugnant and cruel and the do it for fun. In a few months-- fingers crossed -- maybe youll hear about some wins I made and people I helped. Maybe even on the news. People who were saved from that ordeal. And you can know I did it with your awesome computer. And If Im wrong about what happened, then just forget it but yours still the best place in Ottawa to shop tech. As long as you are in business and Im alive ill be telling everyone. 15/12/2020: Managers/employees here buy RTX 3080s so that you can't. Called in when they had stock in store online. Got to the store, they had the card but wouldn't sell it to me because someone working for CC put it on hold a few minutes before I got there. Cashier called the manager and they said they aren't going to sell the card and gave no explanation for why it was put on hold. These cards are first-come, first-serve in store sales only. read more

Please ignore their price match policy. They refused me a price match as the only colour they stocked of an item, black, was out of stock at best buy. The exact same product but in different colours (I don't care what colour I get, I want the product) is available at local best buys. However they would not price match due to the different colour. I called the customer service line and was told the colour difference shouldn't matter. But because best buy has a lower price, they cannot price match (makes no sense at all I know!), as well as telling me that Canada computers has higher savings (the product is $50 off a price of $179) than best buy (the product is $30 off a price of $129). Best buy will be getting my money instead. Incredible! read more

ottawa downtown location. i wouldnt even tell my ex-mother-in-law to shop here. the new manager is rude. i called both the store and the head office to get some help, but nobody answers the phone. the excuse at the store door is the have a skeleton crew working. i went to the store with my 2 toddlers. they were bundled up since its 25 below outside. the girl tells me to take them home, order online and then haul them back out into the cold. i asked if they could bring a computer or phone to the door so i could order it and they tell me its against the by-law. somebody is blond, but it isnt me. the bylaw does not prevent them from placing an online order on the curb, literally. nobody entered the store, nor asked to. this is not the first time i have found the customer service to be awful, but i wont ever shop there again for any reason. i sincerely hope they go out of business as they have no respect for their customers. read more

There's obviously something fishy about the 2 reviews from outside CC's regular sales jurisdiction. They've always been helpful and have a decently sized inventory in their physical stores. I can't speak to their online experience, but have been shopping at all 4 local locations for several years without any serious issues. I'm actually going there for a great deal on a gaming monitor today :) read more
