Tonight we had the smoked gouda pretzel which was tasty but the mustard that it was served with was overpowering. We also had the kung pao shrimp and calamari appetizer which was very good and it was large enough to be a dinner. We ordered the grilled pork chop which was not cooked enough so we sent it back. It was a bit more cooked upon its return but the lack of consistent cooking rendered it chewy and unappetizing. The bar is full of obnoxious drunk people that should have been asked to leave hours ago. The coffee was awful but the lemon marscapone cake was awesome. It seems that Yelp took my original review down because I crossed a line or two and might have written some things that were offensive. However, I will rewrite my review, because honestly I refuse to return and this is the reason why! I am giving you a poor review because of the way we were treated, NOT the food, which was excellent. First of all our waitress came over and was unhappy with the tip, saying SHE had to pay four dollars to something and was on the verge of tears. We understood there was a misunderstanding and we upped the tip. Then an army of staff began cleaning the table around us, one guy came over and put out our candle,and began taking the table cloths off. ARE YOU PEOPLE SERIOUS??? Went for dinner tonight..seated at the preferred round table we were 7..0ur waiter was Tyler nice young man..slow on service..he tried but seemed to be all over the place..another guy Mike equally nice. We ordered from the prix fix menu which we wouldn't have known about if we didn't ask for it. We were feeling lazy and wanted to do takeout, as well as give this restaurant another shot. I received this sad excuse for a steak sandwich. Only here for a short time, but a good time. Walked in to get a drink at the bar with a couple of friends. I had been here a while back and they had some pretty good watermelon martinis. I wasn't sure if they were in season considering we are approaching winter. To my surprise, when I ordered it, they were able to make them and they really are SO delicious! It's been my go to choice for my birthday a few times also.My favorite app is the calamari with the different dipping sauce it's addicting ... the lava cake is by far my favorite I have ever had from any restaurant ! My wife and I had dinner here yesterday (8/13). The food was fantastic - we started with the spinach and artichoke dip and a brie-filled pretzel with a fig jam on the side, had perfectly cooked very large and tasty burgers as our main course, and couldn't resist the watermelon martinis. However, just as important if not more as the high quality of the food, is the fact that this restaurant takes very seriously maintaining a Covid safe atmosphere, which made us feel safe and relaxed dining there. Of course the staff all wore masks and gloves, but there were also many plexiglass partitions both at the bar and between tables. I just went to this place for Sunday brunch. We got the bottomless deal which was great! Our server was amazing and we enjoyed the experience until we made a mistake and spilled a few drinks. This was because the tables were not sturdy enough to handle a small kick on accident. The staff acted as if we were drunk and were being reckless. Specifically the manager acted this way. The staff cleaned up the spill and we apologized to them several times. The manager seemed pissed and did not offer to help clean. She slammed our check on the table and walked away without saying anything. Our waters spilt and we would've liked to be offered more however we were not. We tipped extra because our waitress was very accommodating and cleaned our spill immediately. I feel if we did not order any drinks this would've been treated differently. They assumed we were extremely intoxicated meanwhile we only had a few mimosas. We apologized to all staff including the manager who walked away without acknowledging us. I am writing this only 10 minutes after this occurred so you can tell it was an honest mistake and not reckless behavior due to drinking. Had a fantastic experience. Sat at the bar for dinner and had an awesome bartender. Friendly made recommendations. It was happy hour so had full size appetizers at half price. And drink specials as well. I had chicken cordon bleu off the specials menu, and my friend had skirt steak. Both were cooked perfectly and were delicious. My daughter and future son in law brought my son, husband and myself to this restaurant, which is local to their new apartment. It was a Sunday, and ten minutes after opening, the door remained locked. My daughter said the food here was great and worth the wait. I have a bad back and was uncomfortable standing, so I walked to the door and knocked. A young gentleman came to the door to open it. I kind of felt like we caught them with their pants down, but it was now way past their posted opening time. My son and son in law ordered a breakfast burrito, I had French Toast and my honey had scrambled eggs. Service was spot on. The coffee was delicious and our waitress kept our cups warm and full, and she provided me with extra milk I had requested. The food was delicious, but no unexpected "wow's". I am still so upset over my experience at this restaurant Saturday, October 16. I met my wonderful family there while the Streetfair of Babylon was going on. We could've eaten at any restaurant or Street Food but my niece is a fan of Argyle. Therefore seven of us met there. We were seated immediately. The water was served and our drink orders were taken immediately. I need to say that I had 2 seven year olds boys and a 11 year girl old besides the adults there. After about 15 minutes the waiter came over to take our order. Which was extremely basic !! Well that's the last we saw of our waiter for an hour and a half. I called over the manager she seemed frightened at first. I asked her and showed her the empty table I said what is going on here? All she could respond is I will get you another round of of drinks I am sorry. Well sorry doesn't cut it for me I asked her for the food we had young children at the table that were extremely hungry and no thank you I don't need any more drinks. You would think at that point that perhaps she would send over a bread basket or expedite the meal. Exactly the opposite she never came back to the table nor did the food for another hour. I asked to speak to her again she never came back. Needless to say the food arrived an hour later !! It gets better two meals at a time came to the table we didn't all get to eat together. This was our first visit, as an early birthday dinner for me, together with my wife. They don't take reservations but that wasn't a problem, because we were promptly seated. However, bread and butter was never brought until we requested and received it from a second server. Our soups didn't arrive until 30 minutes later. Our server initially disappeared after saying that she'd check in our soups, then two other servers stopped by to tell us that our soups were coming. When they arrived , the lobster bisque was inedibly salty with no lobster bits, while the French onion was passable but uninspiring, and did not use Gruyere cheese. My wife's surf and turf consisted of burnt shrimp and a piece of filet mignon that was charred on the edges and rare in the middle--she had requested medium. We also had to ask for steak knives although you'd think that would be obvious since we both ordered steak! My wife had to saw at her meat to even cut off a piece! The truffle mashed potatoes were the best thing on her plate. My skirt steak was extremely chewy and was not well done as requested. Additionally, my sautéed spinach was tasteless, lacking any seasoning or garlic or something. I had asked to swap out the red bliss mashed potatoes with grilled asparagus. My asparagus was literally dumped on top of the spinach, barely had any grill marks and was also tasteless. Our server checked in with us more after the food was served by that aforementioned second server and probably had to cover tables both in the front and our rear section (the kitchen is downstairs and in the rear of the restaurant). Although she was pleasant and quickly comped my soup, she was largely absent during our dinner experience, returning more at the end of our meal than during. Based on our experience, we won't be returning and respectfully suggest that the kitchen expediter do a better job, that the chef learn how to properly cook steak and shrimp and season those and vegetables, and that better waitstaff coordination be put in place. When someone says "Hi, my name is ____, I'll be your sever and will be taking care of you tonight", it's quite reasonable to expect exactly that. read more

I live in the neighborhood so I've been here a few times. The food is mediocre at best and doesn't warrant more than 3 stars. Last time I went I ordered a steak mid rare and it was almost blue in the middle. Nobody else was that impressed with their entrees either. The music was too loud in the dining area so I politely asked the server to lower it. After the second request they lowered it about a half a decibel.
