They moved incredibly heavy and large furniture over snow covered ice in below freezing temperatures. It goes without saying that they were punctual, polite--cheerful, even--and reasonably priced. In fact, Stark gave me the most competitive moving quote for both moves, and their booking and communications were refreshingly clear. They came to our house 1 day before the move to check the inventory of items to move and were supposed to pack up our kitchen. On the day of the move, they showed up without packing supplies and later went to get the boxes. They brought only 4 boxes which clearly were not enough. After the 4 boxes were full, they used our own packing bags. The packing of the kitchen stuff was poor and they basically just dumped everything in the bags randomly and still left items behind that we eventually had to carry in our car. They took almost 7 hours to load the truck and this was just a 3 bedroom house and they had to pack only the kitchen. Everything else was packed already. They did not bring the plastic mattress covers and ended up wrapping the mattresses in a cheap plastic which did not cover the mattresses completely and ended up soaking and staining the new mattress. Further, the sofa was not wrapped completely and ended up getting soaked and stained too. Lastly, the furniture items were scratched at multiple places. They were way off the timeline that they originally estimated for our move. I would recommend them only if your move is small (1 bedroom or so). They are clearly not experienced and skilled enough to handle moves larger than that.

I have used K Carpet for many, many years. I've known Mike Kanam for a long time and always was a…read moreloyal customer. Up until 6 years ago, I had always dealt with Mike. Never a problem. I have purchased a lot from this company. The last two times I've had to deal with Duke and I must say he sure doesn't act like he gives a darn. This time he was really rude. When I went to look at the carpet he starts pulling big sample boards down with one hand because he had something in his other hand and couldn't be bothered or interested enough to put it down. He didn't even try to help with which carpet would be the best for my needs. I should have walked out. But, dummy me went ahead and picked one. I told him that a couple of the rooms of carpet I bought from him 6 years ago had matted terribly so I hoped he would take that into consideration for pricing since I would be replacing one of those rooms plus the living room and dining room that they put down before. When he came to measure he looked at the matted carpet and said NOTHING. He could care less. When my carpet came in and the guys showed up to put it down, they asked if I was told this job would take 1.5 days and I said no, but that's OK. But they never left til after 6pm. They were tired having been here since early morning. I asked why they stayed and finished and I was told well, they have to be somewhere else the next day. So, the next day I'm looking over everything and sweeping and discover that the metal strip that goes across the bathroom doorway to cover where the carpet meets the vinyl tile wasn't put back, it was laying under the vanity. Understandable that it got missed, it was a long day. But I also noticed that the edge of 2 of the tiles had been chipped. I just paid a large sum of money to have that whole bathroom remodeled in the last year. I wasn't going to raise a big ruckus about it because the strip would cover it and probably be ok. I was probably being nicer about it than I should have been. But, the strip needs to be put back to protect the edge of those tiles. I sure don't want them chipping worse. I went to see Duke that day. I told him what I needed & he just stands there with a look like "Why are you bothering me." He said he'd get ahold of them to come and take care of it. Well, 8 days later I had to go back to the store since you can't get anybody to answer the phone. This time Mike was there. What a difference! Nice, welcoming smile and asks what he can help me with. I tell him what's going on and he said he'd get Duke. Mike comes back around the corner and says Duke will send them over to take care of it. Duke had been within ear shot of my conversation with Mike. He didn't have the courtesy to even come out and speak to me. No apology, nothing. Well, that was Wednesday morning and this is Friday evening. Haven't seen or heard from anybody. So, what do you think? My years of loyalty and spending my money with K Carpet are over. I guess I'll be going somewhere else to get the other 2 bedrooms, kitchen & master bath done.
