They are new, (open about 2 months) so they are still learning, and there is quite a bit that they need to learn. My first issue, pricing. $450 for a party of 10 kids. That does not include the adults. I was planning on feeding my adults. They wanted $60 extra for the additional seating/aka bigger room (which was fine) on top of that they wanted $9 per adult, AND then the cost of the additional food for the parents!!! So that's an extra $200 for only 10 parents. Once they found out, I was not paying for the adults. They refunded my $60 back threw me in a small room and had all my adult standing along the wall. Don't ask me why they just didn't keep the $60 and provide a bigger room with seating for my parents. It didn't make any sense. If you have adults in your party, they have to stand?! Secondly, they control the entire party, which is great if that's what you're looking for. 1:You're not allowed to bring a cake, they offer cupcakes and when they sang happy birthday, they didn't even put a candle in it. SMH 2: decoration, they have two options, sports or princess, if you don't pick one of their options, then they charge you additionally 3: I ordered a popcorn machine as an add-on. The popcorn is popped while the kids are playing and they place it in bags on the table which I felt it was just there, no one cared. It would be exciting for the kids if they said popcorn time and every kid stood in line with a bag and they scoop some in their bag. 4: they give you two hosts and you have to tip both of them which a party with 10 kids does not need two hosts. In my opinion, they need to step back and let the parents feel like they have control over their child's party. All of the parents that attended my daughter's party had the same views & opinions. I thought it was gonna be a great venue and everyone would wanna have their child's party there. All of my party guests said it was a waste and they were not impressed. On a sidenote, the manager in charge (I think her name was Lauren) chased down a mother in my party because I did not pay for her for open gym. She was watching some of the girls not participating, but she had her mom sign a waiver, (which is understandable)and then proceeded to charge her $20 for watching less than 40 minutes of open gym. With how much I paid and how bad it looks on your facility. A better approach would have been to tell the girl, she didn't have a waiver signed, and they don't allow anyone to watch so have her come out of the gym. Positive experiences hardly get recognized, unfortunately negative experiences stick.

A large tent ensures that no matter what the weather conditions, this event will take place. Did I mention free? Yep, completely free to all who attend. The church and school combination has continued to serve the community since the turn of the last century, and although it might sound like the buildings are perhaps outdated, to the contrary, the church is modern and up-to-date, with beautiful stained glass windows and a pipe organ that is one of the larger ones in the region. The school is smaller than many of the local elementary schools, but the students receive some of the best training and education in the State of Michigan. Every testing system ever used to evaluate the student's progress has consistently scored them in the upper echelon of elementary education. Attached to the school is an Early Childhood Center which continues to receive awards year after year. Bravo to the group at Trinity for serving Macomb County and making positive contributions to our local community!!

My experience with Detroit City Camp has been mediocre at best. I've had such a difficult time…read moretrying to find a reputable and accountable summer camp program for my daughter, the process has literally been frustrating. I found Detroit City Camp through a mother that recommended the program in my neighborhood. We were actually enrolled with another program and they abruptly closed due to an unorganized program structure. Anyhow, City Camp seemed to be a great alternative. They are affordable ($85 a week with an additional $50 for before and aftercare if needed) and based on their website and the conversation I had with the Assistant Director; pretty organized with regard to their curriculum. My biggest concern and issue relates to their accountability to parents with regard to communicating financial matters. I read through all the requirements, policies, and procedures with regard to enrollment and weekly payments. I actually pay two weeks in advance to be sure I'm on time. I received an invoice one week (Monday) and reconciled it against my payments. I found that two payments weren't applied and I had a credit for aftercare I didn't need. I printed all my documents and made copies for myself and the center. I called the number listed; 313-330-6206 (BTW, this is the only number available for parents to call). This is a cell phone number that should not be used for business purposes and I'll tell you why. I called and I spoke with a young lady (could have been a volunteer) and I let her know my concern relating to the discrepancy with my bill. She stated I would need to speak with someone face to face about my concern. I asked if there was an email address I could send my receipts too, she stated no. I asked if someone was available for me to speak with at that moment and she replied no one was available. She then instructed me to provide my information in the morning. I reiterated that I arrive early in the morning; 7:15 to 7:30am and would someone be available, she stated yes. Sheria, Oliva, or Sonya would be available to speak with at that time. I arrived the next morning and too my surprise, no one was available and no one (not even the financial secretary) could assist me. I asked for a contact number, no one could provide me with one for the Directors. I asked could I leave my number, for someone to call me, they wouldn't take it. I asked could I leave my documents, the suggested I leave it with someone who could help me. I grew more and more frustrated with the lack of accountability and consideration. The lady in the "office" stated someone would be available the next morning around 7:30am if I wanted to speak with someone. I requested them to please let the individual know I would be seeking their assistance. They stated they would, however didn't ask for no identifiable information (name, number, child's name), ughhh! The next day I arrived, and again, no one was available to see me. I asked the lady again (same lady I spoke to the day prior) if the Director was available, she stated no (and made no eye contact). I asked whether she provided them my message she stated she hadn't spoken with anyone...UGGHHHH!!!! That day I called the cell phone number provided on their website. I requested to speak with a Director, I spoke with Olivia. Olivia was pretty defensive as to why the two payments weren't applied...which didn't help me at all. My child's name was enclosed on both receipts. My frustration was clearly visible now. My rant began. I shared my entire experience with regard to trying to reconcile my account. I shared my expectations were clearly unmet. I voiced concern with having to track down information and no follow-up from their end. Olivia stated I could email my correspondents to her. I did, however never received any follow-up or response resulting from sending her the correspondences. Overall, the individuals I've spoken to have been horrible representatives on behalf of this program. I grew more and more frustrated with having to deal with excuses, and finger pointing. All I wanted to do was ensure my account was reconciled and that the company acknowledged my credit. I finally received that via my last conversation with Olivia after called her (she did not call me). I still have not received any written document pertaining to anything I've provided. Ugggh!!!! Please keep all your receipts and hope you NEVER have to call a program Director.
