George our server was attentive. Appetizers mediocre. Maurice salad very good. Ambiance lacking-Restaurant pretty empty for a Saturday night.

We have been here quite a few times as my mom enjoys being by the water. We typically come on Mother's Day. The food is always good, but nothing really outstanding. I've never had anything that's particularly bad. Just if not for the location. I'm not sure I'd come out of my way to come here. We had the Octopus and Saganaki as appetizers. The octopus was very good, Saganaki is always good, I mean it's melted cheese. Three of us had the lemon rice soup. It's decent, I had the fish and chips, again, it was pretty good, I've had better, I've had worse. I gave the coleslaw to my wife, she had 2 bites and was done. She said "the coleslaw from KFC is way better, I give it 2 stars." My daughter had the summer salad and she said "it's ok, not great but good." Overall I give it a 3 for all the reasons I mentioned. Food wise, it's ok, ambience is great as it's on the water. Service is always good, you can have to wait sometimes as it is busy for special events or holidays. We will come back as my mom really likes coming here. But there is room for improvement.

We had an awesome experience here! The food was FANTASTIC. We loved the view of water and the ability to see at on the patio and look out at the water and boats. Our service was also great. Overall, a great meal and experience and I can't wait to come back.

We came here to eat outside. The wait was very long. They were understaffed I'm guessing. After a 40+ minute wait, the sun started to go down and we were finally seated. Service was so slow. The waiter was nice but it started to get cold so we asked to move inside. They said okay. The loudest band I've ever heard was playing during the pistons game and the nfl draft. I couldn't believe no one asked them to turn it down. Food was good but service was horrible and slow and ambiance should have been nice but was so so.

The best part of this place is the ambience - nice decor, lots of windows, and located on the water. Maybe my expectations were too high, but the food here was underwhelming. The drinks were great, though - I loved the pineapple upside down cake martini (though for $15 it should have been a little bigger). We started with some apps - the spinach/artichoke dip was good, but the chips seemed slightly stale. The calamari was not so good, and in hindsight I probably should have sent it back. I'm pretty sure they used frozen calamari. The breading was dry and the calamari was also dry, chewy and flavorless. And the dipping sauce (not sure what it was supposed to be) was terrible. It had a disgusting consistency and just didn't taste good. I asked the server for some cocktail sauce instead but I was told that they *didn't have* cocktail sauce. Are you serious? A waterfront restaurant that serves seafood doesn't have cocktail sauce? We were then served our dinner salads, which were uninspired little plates of lettuce with tomato. Just as we were about to start eating the salads, out came the entrees, which was not the best timing but whatever. As for the entrees, the fish and chips were good, and were a nicely sized portion. The coleslaw had an odd taste, but wasn't horrible. The Greek pizza was very good and had a nicely caramelized crust. The seafood pasta w/vodka sauce was beautifully presented, but the shrimp and the (tiny) mussels in it were overcooked. Service was ok, no complaints there. I doubt that I'll be back, there are plenty of other options in the area.

My first time here, we came for a work lunch. It was quiet in there, only a few tables. The service was good. The water on the table was replaced as soon as it was finished. Apps came out quickly, and food came very quickly for the fact that we were a big table. Steaks were cooked nicely, everyone was satisfied. I got the lemon chicken ravioli and it was amazing! The vodka seafood pasta looked delicious as well.

We had a good experience here with family in the outside igloo. Our server was nice and very prompt. I was hesitant to eat here as the food didn't appear super appetizer on photos or reviews. However, I finally settled on the seafood pasta- a dish that I knew would be packed with flavor. I'm not really a pasta person- but this was very good! We also had calamari and the saganaki. The calamari wasn't my favorite, but was good enough.

Excellent flavor. I would order this every time it's that good.

Quesadillas

We were looking for someplace on the water for a celebration lunch on a late summer day and this place looked perfect. The hostess tried to discourage us from sitting outside because people had told her that it was too hot, but that was our whole reason for picking this place, so we told her we'd take our chances. Not only was it fine, it was absolutely gorgeous out there! The deck is spacious and beautiful and has a nice view of the marina area. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We also had a couple of brief interactions with someone who appeared to be the manager and he was very nice. We also saw him pounce on someone who started smoking on the deck within seconds of when we first smelled it...we loved that! The menu has a lot of great choices. I had read about the cheeseburger egg rolls, so we started with those and they totally lived up to the hype. I had the Cali Club Panini - it was a little bland, but good. My wife had the quesadillas and said they were very good. I don't get to that side of town very often, but I would definitely go back to this place!

Horrible experience! Super rude staff. Lots of rules and no accommodations. Mid tier food that doesn't match the prices

I saw a sign out front for a raw bar, can anyone tell me more about this? Is it new? Only certain nights? What's on it?

What are you planning for the winter this year?

I am so disappointed in this place..it used to be so good...quality of food is diner style quality...wo t be back?

First, this isn't a "question", but I'll "answer" anyway since I can vouch for Watermark. Idk what Manhattan 5th Ave level you're on, but they have a great menu and even better food. They're mere months old and have worked out any service kinks. The… Read more

One thing I can say is that it is amazing! My husband and I made a reservation online for an igloo. We were greeted and taken to our igloo. It was very nice, we ordered some beverages and an appetizer to start. We got the Arincini to start and oooooohhh myyyy goodness, please get it! It was so yummy, the oooy gooey ness of the rice and mozzarella was exquisite, they also served it with marinara meat sauce! Great combination! The lamb chops were super tender and marinated to perfection. The mashed potatoes were also a hit for us, they use fresh potatoes and whipped it enough to be the perfect amount of creaminess. My hubby bear got the surf and turf, that was exceptional, the lobster and butter just melt in your mouth & the steak was cooked perfectly (medium rare) ;) the only thing was we wished his dish had more meat haha because who wouldn't want more of that yummy goodness. It is a bit pricey but well worth it. Everyone there was super attentive and sweet. One thing that we were a little bummed about was the igloo was a bit cold my toes and fingers were pretty cold. They have a small heater in there but I would advise you to bundle up but the food and service makes up for it all!! Bon appétit!

There were a lot of spider webs on the outside of the windows due to being so close to the lake. If you don't like bugs, I don't recommend this venue! For the most part the staff was friendly but they did seem to be a little bit rushy a little bit before halfway through. They took my silverware before I was done eating without asking. The entrance is handicap accessible although there are no signs indicating that. I was trying to open the front door when suddenly they opened by themselves so I was caught off guard. I was just interested in the historical marker and the building itself. Unfortunately, we did not have an opportunity to walk the grounds around the building to view the lake as a keen eye can see across to Canada from here. The marker reads, "Russell A. Alger, Jr., (1873-1930) son of Michigan's Governor Russell Alger, built this Italian Renaissance style mansion in 1910. Alger was one of the founders of the Packard Motor Car Company, Charles A. Platt of New York designed this elaborate structure, and Ellen Shipman of New York landscaped the grounds. The home, situated on Lake St. Clair, was referred to as "The Moorings." Alger lived here until his death in 1930. From 1936 to 1948, the house was used by the Detroit Institute of Arts as a branch museum. In 1949 it was deeded to the Grosse Pointe War Memorial Association in memory of those who served and died in our nation's wars and for facilitating the educational, cultural and civic needs of the community." It also mentions that it was erected in 1983 by the Michigan History Division. Russell A. Alger, Sr. was a Civil War general who served as the 20th Governor of Michigan from 1885 to 1887, US Senator and eventually, US Secretary of War under President William McKinley from 1897 to 1899. He was replaced during the Spanish-American War. The original home is still here and has had an auditorium added in 1962 and art wings added in 1977 and 1993. The original home building was donated by the Alger family to the Grosse Pointe War Memorial Association in 1949 and is an event venue. I'd like very much for someone to invite me to a wedding here!
