My wife and I recently hosted our baby shower at Lakeland Manor. Noah made the booking process seamless and was very accommodating. The night before our event, everyone on staff pitched in to help us set up. Nicole even went out of her way to find us table numbers that went along with our theme. During the event, the bartender, Kenny, along with the servers, were polite and efficient. Regretfully, I did not take any pictures of the food. My favorite dish was the Swedish meatballs, though the meatballs in the Asian plum sauce were great, as well. The chicken marsala had a prominent wine flavor. I also sampled the chicken piccata. I typically prefer piccata, but enjoyed the marsala more. The mostaccioli was tasty, and the pesto drizzle on top was a nice touch. The mashed potatoes and green beans were also delicious. While the food was definitely a highlight, more than anything, Noah, Nicole, James, and the entire staff were a pleasure to work with. If you have a big event coming up, I highly recommend Lakeland Manor. read more

Honestly was very disappointed in the overall level of professionalism and how everything went down. It got to the point where they would lie and say they sold the business and no longer worked there. Grow up and take some accountability as a business please! This review is strictly regarding their carry out dinners during the Covid-19 pandemic. I've been trying really hard to shop small and local this year. Luckily St Clair Shores offers so many delicious okto Lakeland Manor is local to me and has since offered carry out dinner options in the midst of the pandemic. Their carry out menu is always listed on their Facebook page and is filled with a handful of options from chicken parmesan, chicken piccata, beef ravioli, penne pasta, and Swedish meatballs. The carry out options change weekly, so check their page on Sundays! Carry out is typically offered Tuesday - Saturday. You preorder in the morning and pick up your meal at your preferred time slot. Very easy! The entrees come with a side salad and roll and the non pasta dishes also come with a vegetable and potato side. The price for each meal is around $11. You can also add a dessert for about $5. They offer cannolis, mini cheesecakes, among other options. Portions are HUGE! Easily enough for leftovers for the next day! Everything comes out hot and fresh, bagged and in perfect to-go containers. My boyfriend loves the chicken parmesan, while I love the penne. It's a perfect meal when you want something homemade without having to do all the cooking. My family ordered our Thanksgiving dinner from here and we all loved it! My fiance and I had a tour scheduled at Lakeland manor. We drove for an hour and got to our appointment on time. Unfortunately that was not the case for the Lakeland staff as they were not there. The office was empty, we waited 20 minutes and tried calling the office but we did end up leaving. After this Lakeland staff didn't bother calling us back/explaining why they didn't show up to the tour. Very unprofessional, rude on the phone, good luck to anyone getting married here, lets hope they show up on your wedding day! read more

The menu changes each week featuring delicious options such as chicken picata, meatloaf and several pasta dishes. Each meal is $11 bucks and includes main dish, green beans, potato, salad and roll. Welcome to the 80's, is what I thought when I walked in for Easter Sunday Brunch. Clean & well lit, but everything was white, and a bit dated, from their decor, to how the hostess was dressed. The food was fine, nothing spectacular for a buffet. I was disappointed that their HUGE side of Angus beef was cooked well, and they had a 'brown sauce' to go with it. I asked for horseradish sauce, and the carver replied "We don't have that, try the Aus Jus" and pointed a bucked of what looked like a chunky gravy, and THEY call it 'brown sauce' on their menu. It wasn't very good. If they have chef's there, you would think they would know not to over cook the green beans to a soggy mess. You want those to be firm, slightly crisp, and hot. The ones they served were none of those. The dessert table, however, was quite impressive. It was by far the best part of the buffet. The servers were like vultures, coming for your plate as soon as you took your last bite. That part was very annoying. They were, however, quite friendly. What a fabulous place.. Attended a wedding shower here this past Saturday and I was really impressed by the service, food and over all experience. I would give the service a solid 5 star's. I thought the staff were super sweet and helpful. Especially the older gentlemen that may have been owner/ cook. He stood right at the buffet line to assist and answer any questions. Also I was crazy over the Bloody Mary bar. Excellent idea. Food..5 star's all the way! Every dish was fresh and delicious. Especially the pasta. I had 2 helpings. Yesterday I had my baby shower at Lakeland Manor on Harper. The whole experience from booking to the day of was smooth and stress free. The staff went out of their way to make sure everything was perfect. At one point they even helped a few elderly guest make their plates of food. The food was outstanding ... I don't say this lightly. I myself am an event planner and I have hall food often. This was some of the best pasta with meat sauce , red skin potatoes , broccoli and meatballs I've ever had. The salad bar was so fresh and the side ingredients included everything from olives to beats and peppers it was above what my expectations where for the price. There was hot fresh rolls and all dressing was homemade. At the end of our event they even wrapped what was left in large trays and sent it home. I've had so many calls and messages from family and friends saying it was not only the nicest shower they had been too but that the food and service where outstanding. I highly recommend this venue for all of your banquet needs. Everything is homemade and top quality. You do not find Reasturant quality food in a banquet hall anymore at Lear's that's what I thought until yesterday . read more

If you need to reserve a banquet hall for anything, THIS IS THE PLACE! I cannot begin to say how pleased I am with their service. I had my wedding reception here in February and from the first visit until the wedding day, the folks at Lakeland Manor treated my wife and I like royalty. They never said "no, we can't do this" about any suggestions that we wanted. The prices were unbeatable, the service was stellar and the food is A++. I wish we could go there and order a "carryout" of food every now and then, its better than most high class restaurants. They were very good about explaining everything and always went the extra mile to please us, even if they had to do something like return rented vases to a local floral shop for us to save us the hassle. They set up and tore down everything free of charge. They even packaged everything and organized the boxes for us. I would HIGHLY recommend Lakeland Manor for any activity. The hall itself is very clean, the bathrooms are clean and everything is well decorated. You will DEFINITELY be treated well here. Again, I cannot say enough positive things about this place. Lakeland Manor on Harper Ave in Saint Clair Shores has great banquets and service. I have been to 2 Wedding receptions and their annual Easter Brunch. All of these were top notch. We did my friends wedding shower here over the weekend and we were blown away by the amazing food! Everything was so great people were talking about it the rest of the day! The staff was so great too! They kept checking in on us and even though we were suppose to be out by 3 they didn't push or rush us out and I found that very different than most venues would have done! My relationship started in May of 1977. My husband and I were married there. We had so many compliments on the food and the service. We were so happy that we chose Lakeland. Through the years we had parties and baby showers. We had wakes there for our loved ones that have passed on. Lakeland made us so comfortable. I don't know how they do it. Then in 2016 my youngest son got married there. Again the compliments were flooding in. We also use them for cantering. I will never choose another venue. We had our wedding here this past weekend and it went spectacularly. The staff was very friendly and attentive to our needs. This was the only hall we visited that would allow us to have 4 different color napkins to go with our theme. The owner Nicole was also kind enough to throw in appetizers for free on the day of the wedding. The only issue was the scheduling of the valet, they didnt arrive until 6pm when our ceremony started and all our guests had already arrived. Save yourself and go somewhere else. We all want our wedding to go over smoothly not have the issues steve and I did since day one with the reception hall Encore Catering & Banquet Center. When we first booked a year ago at lakeland manor, we booked because of the lady we dealt with. She was the biggest sweetheart, friendly and answered all of our questions. She definitely sold us on doing our wedding reception here. Fast forward to 2018 and there is some new staff and the lady we originally had went to another location. We have had nothing but problems since then, every time I would call and ask questions about when I could set up the hall or any other question I would have I could never get a straight answer from shannon or Kelly. Then when we came in to pay another payment we noticed the name wasn't Lakeland manor anymore it was called Encore. We never got an email or a phone call reguarding the change and we already sent our invitiations out to everyone at that point. Instead of making it easier on me they always found a way to be more difficult and make it harder. So I had to contact my whole entire family about the name change so that way they wouldn't go to the wrong place. I had to regive them my Email again when I noticed they had the wrong Email of mine this whole entire time. The food staff were amazing and the first bartender was great I wish we had her the whole entire time. the second one was extremely rude and started to card everyone and my wedding party. The food I can say did taste great, but if I would have known we would be treated the way we were I'd have booked elsewhere. I gave them a check over two months ago for the final payment.  I kept calling and emailing them after the wedding asking when they would cash it. Kelly Emailed me back one time stating she would look into it and never contacted me again. I've tried reaching out a few more times and got nothing back from them. Then out of the blue on August 1st kelly finally called me and left a voicemail stating there were issues with the check that it bounced and she finally got my email right and emailed me about it as well. My husband called them and they had him on speaker phone asking him where their money was. My husband told them that it wasn't about the money that they will get their money. It is about the way they do buisness.  Kelly was yelling at my husband and then some guy in the backround was yelling at my husband as well. Saying that we have to pay them if not they will take us to court. My husband calmly told them again that we will pay them the rest of the money that isn't the problem. The issue is how they do business and the way they treat people. He told them if we had no intention of paying them we wouldn't have even written them a check. He asked why didnt they call us they have our numbers and they told him they do buisness by email. Well clearly not when they didn't even have my proper email for the longest time. Kelly then put her two sense in and said you have two weeks to pay us or we take you to court. With that she hung up on him. They were rude and nasty. I honestly have no idea how they get buisness. Kelly is a horrible woman and whoever the man was in the backround being just as nasty was just as bad. When my husband asked why the check wasnt cashed the first week of june when we gave it to them they told us it is because they lost it in another folder for awhile that they don't use anymore. I'm not sure how that is our fault. But what I am sure of is I will never go back there again for any sort of event. I will not recommend them to anyone or my family to use them for any special event. Because even though the food was great it isnt worth the treatment we received throughout the whole process of planning up until now. Mind you they got their money today in cash form was kelly there to retrieve it? No, another employee Amanda was. kelly is nasty on the phone to people, super snooty and stuck up. but fake to your face. I am beyond happy to be finished with them once and for all. I will not let all the ruccus they have caused taint my wedding day. My ceremony at vintage gardens was beautiful they even sent us a congratulations card afterwards. Something Encore lacks is being nice and respectful to clients. So please share this as many times as you want because I would love another bride to never experience what I did with this company. read more

I held my daughter's baby shower here. We did a breakfast shower. Everyone loved the omelettes. I was very happy with everything from my first phone call to inquire on their services all the way through the shower. Everything was wonderful. Guest could not get over the desserts. I had my wedding here and the night had a series of very unfortunate events. If you want a flawless night of execution, I would not chose this venue. Items that were paid for and were supposed to be included were not executed. Champagne toast for the head table was not prepared, and when asked for prior to toasts was told it was not included. The "open bar" not only ran out of beer but also rum. We alerted the hall that we were not bringing cake cutting supplies. We cut our cake with a butter knife off of one of our guests tables. We had no plates, or no forks. We missed out on once in a lifetime photos of us sharing our cake. The entire cake was left uncut and not plated the entire evening. We were told cake cutting was included. We were also ensured that dessert platters including lemon, bars, brownies, canolies etc. would be at each table, but they were never brought out. I contacted the manager over a week and a half ago expressing my many concerns. She said she would get back to me in 1 to 2 days time, she wanted to speak with the staff and review the footage of the night. The manager ensured me that she takes pride in her job and would not let this issue fall through the cracks. I have never heard back. This is only a small amount of the many problems faced that evening. This was supposed to be the best night of our lives. I would never recommend any bride or groom to utilize this facility. Was there for my husband's "Celebrate life" luncheon (lunch following funeral). Very impressed with the food and the waiters and waitresses. The desserts received a lot of compliments. For a buffet of 95 people the food was very good. Nice GREEN salad - not a bunch of iceberg lettuce! With several toppings. Rolls were fresh, soft inside and crispy outside. Penni was mild, not over spiced nor acidic plus it had large pieces of sausage(not part of the 2 meats). Chicken parmesan was very good - my son loved the breading. The roast beef was good - it's difficult to keep this tender, but the gravy was tasty with fried onions on top. Potato slices and red skins were good but most of the guests went for the penne. Mixed vegetables were not floating in butter - most appreciated! We had beer and wine. The Merlot received great reviews. The dessert - what great cakes !! A chocolate layered "bumpy" cake that had cream not frosting! A berry layered cake that even had cannoli (sp?) filling between one layer . read more

My wife an I just had our wedding reception here in October this year. When we booked the venue everything was wonderful. The Manager Craig was very accommodating and friendly. He would go out of his way to make sure everything was all set for our big day. Fast forward about a year when we did our 3 month check up, Craig had "left the company" and who took over was the owners daughter Nicole. She was great at first, just like Craig was. That was only until we paid our bill. Everything after that went downhill. 1) We were promised that our center pieces and room décor would be boxed up and put in her office after our reception had ended so we could enjoy the rest of our wedding night. As soon as the lights came on, the inconsiderate/rude staff immediately came up to me, the groom, and ask when all this stuff was going to be cleaned up. I cordially explained what had been promised to me. Nothing but rudeness came out of their mouths. 2) We had set up the tables in the room a specific way (i.e. family in front). We didn't notice until the end of the night that a table that was suppose to be in the front row that had my wife's family on it, was wrongly set in the back by the bar. So in turn, the whole left side of the room, the tables had been put in the wrong spot. 3) The local police was called, presumably by the manager Nicole, because some people from the wedding were smoking marijuana (people with legal documentation) outside the facility. I am not saying that it was right to do that, they should have walked away. But to have the police show up was unnecessary. I was unaware of this during the night, but my wife had been pulled away during the reception to go speak to the police. Not something I'd imagine she enjoyed doing newly wed three hours earlier. 4) Speaking of unnecessary, the manager had her two or three, I don't exactly remember, children hanging out in the facility. Now I don't tell people where or where not to bring their children, but maybe they shouldn't be at a strangers adult only wedding reception. On top of that, this family definitely got cheap child labor out of these kids because they were wiping up and working after the reception had ended. This isn't the early 20th century! 5) We were also promised the leftover food from the buffet dinner we had. That was thrown out and not given to us. These are all the things I can remember off the top of my head but I know there were more issues. I am not taking anything away from the price we got to book this venue or the chef. The food here is fantastic. But after Craig has so-called "left the company" things went to shit really fast. I highly do not recommend this company for the reasons above and unprofessionalism. Went there for the first time for Easter brunch yesterday, the food was not that great! The roast beef tasted like cardboard, I asked the man carving the roast if they had anything that wasn't overcooked, and he said "No". The rolls were so hard that if I threw them against the wall it would have put a hole in it. The only thing that was enjoyable was the chicken dish they had, but you couldn't eat too much it was very rich. I basically went home still hungry. I wouldn't recommend coming here. read more

I'm writing to all as a voice to all that may have been ripped off by LAKELAND MANOR of Saint Clair Shores (I'm sure we are not alone), We had to cancel our event 9 MONTHS in advance due to circumstances beyond our control, which I explained to the representative. It wasn't because we found a different venue. Our goal was to use their facility so we put down a $1000 despot (when we could have put $100). And their response to us was, tough crap, you signed a contract so were keeping the hole $1000. There's the role of the contract (I get that), but also there is what's called "doing the right thing". I guess LAKELAND MANOR of Saint Clair Shores doesn't believe in that philosophy.
