Stopped in for a quick bite while we were in town and absolutely enjoyed our visit. We were warmly greeted by Laura, the owner, who was bussing tables, taking orders, whipping up drinks and making food. The woman does it all and with a great big smile on her face! My husband couldn't decide which beer to order so she gave him 4 samples. We got the house made onion rings and they were extremely tasty coming with Chipotle aioli that was very yummy! I got the pork belly sliders and they were sooo good! My husband got the cheddar bacon burger and he said it was delicious. We met our son there yesterday for lunch. None of us had been there before, and we really enjoyed the experience! We each had one of the basket items and they were all tasty! The service was great and the atmosphere was casual and inviting! Though we didn't have beer, they offer a wide selection. There is a large separate room with pool table and our fun games. It was a grey day outside, but everything inside was warm and welcoming! I really loved everything about this place. Kind of an industrial pub vibe, with a great menu including an interesting selection of beer, ale, cider, etc. I loved the Wyler's Berry Burst cider - nice and tart. The Mango Ranch Shrimp Wrap had lots of shrimp in a sauce that had a little kick. You'll definitely want to pay a little extra for the onion rings ...and ask for the aioli The bartender/waitress greeted everyone who came in, and never seemed to be rushed or impatient with anyone. The menu was pretty standard but the food came out warm and it was very good. My BLT came with a very substantial portion of bacon. Service was a bit slow because they were pretty busy. But they were very nice and accommodating. We were allowed to have our dog on the patio. There isn't a lot of room on their patio but it was perfect for what we needed. read more

We had a fantastic time here at "The Ashen Rose". The bartender/server, did it all. She made drinks, took our order, let us know some things will take a little bit longer, have great suggestions on beer and brought out our food, in a timely and professional manner. All I can say is I hope she gets a raise one day or some help, cause she deserves it! The food here was also pretty amazing. We ordered the cheese sticks for an appetizer, which was great. I ordered the Philly cheesesteak, with onion rings, and that was done perfectly. My wife ordered the fish, and it came out excellent. My daughter throughly enjoyed her appetizer/meal of steak chunks. I tried some of those and it was great. The layout is pretty big here. Set up like sports bar but not overwhelming you with a ton of TV's which is good. Looks like a local's hangout, but the place is very welcoming to visitors. Next time I'm in the area I'll have to come back to try out a burger. Overall a fun and delicious experience. read more

Came here for the lunch we saw on Yelp. First the menu on Yelp is not correct, it has changed a lot. Took over 10 minutes to get service. Was only 6 people in the place and three workers but they were busy on their phones. Ordered the rib eye sandwich and fish. Both came out hot but not so sure the rib eye was a steak meat. Fish was over cooked. Server had no interest in making this correct and redo fish. The best thing of the meal was the fries were hot. We did not order alcohol, maybe that was our issue. The venue across the street stayed busy the whole time we were here. We probably will not recommend this establishment or go back after our experience here. Went on a Tuesday at about 12:30. The inside was clean. The restrooms were clean. We sat at the bar but the service was extremely slow off you do not drink alcohol. Did not drink because I was driving. You can take your chance here, maybe we missed something or was there on an off day. Thanks for reading this review. We walked down here from court for lunch. We ordered Italian panini, chicken parmesan sandwich, patty melt sandwich, mango shrimp wrap, mozzarella sticks, and 2 make your own burgers. We asked for no onions on one of the burgers and it came with it. The mango shrimp wrap didn't have any mango on it so that was disappointing. Our server Sarah was the only redeeming quality! She was working alone, tending bar and waiting tables, so had a lot to do but did her best with a smile. The Fish and Chips were awful... Overcooked. If your coming through downtown you must eat here. Wife had the Caprice with chicken added panini. Very good. The onion rings were awesome as were the sweet potato fries. First timers. We were Hungry and Yelp made it look good. I ordered the Fuji apple spinach salad which was very fresh but Served in such a small bowl. Followed by only offering me plastic silverware which made it very hard to eat. My husband ordered The Rose Burger which was also served in a small cardboard container with onion rings that were extra greasy and had no flavor. The shredded yellow Lettuce did the burger zero flavor. Other than that...prices were very reasonable and the one and only server/waitress/bartender Ashley was extremely helpful. Super friendly. Maybe they make one of the best burgers from what Im told but thats it. My mom got cod that they fried the shit out of. The fish inside was good but sort of defeats the purpose of the batter. My sandwich was....hmmm what to say, horrendous. I took three maybe four bites and left the rest. Wasnt grilled either which made it worse. The onion rings looked like fat donuts. Went for brunch and found it disappointing and way over charged. I had the $14.09 scrambled that say you'll be charged.50 cent for anything you order extra to ad to it. I Didn't ad anything but I was charged .50 cents for every ingredient in it..... Green peppers, onion and mushrooms I think. I couldn't tell because the eggs came out brown and burnt. I was also charged $3.00 for a plain small biscuit. I thought it must be a typo on the menu, but no that was the charge for 1 small biscuit. They are free at Cracker Barrel. I expect to be charged reasonably for what I ordered, not robbed. The staff was great and the only reason we didn't complained. We left her 18% tip, she was great. Our bill was over $32.00 for 2 of us. I have posted about this place before for dinner and it was a great experience. But I have to say this was crazy and I might show up for a beer and go to crackers barrel or waffle house for breakfast. Cheaper snd better in my past experiences. read more

Showed up at a random time, a little after 4 on a Friday afternoon, passing through on our way south. Service was outstanding. Jalapeño barbecue burger was the bomb! Sweet potato fries were excellent- thick cut, moist inside, crispy outside. Spinach berry salad was the freshest and tastiest I've had in ages. Spicy green bean appetizer had some serious kick- very satisfying. Brownie with ice cream - warmed like a lava cake but not oozing- just perfect. We were visiting the area and happened upon The Ashen Rose by chance. We were very pleased we did. My French Toast Combo was very good and the potatoes were cooked perfectly (I always request a little crispy!). At the table we also had a build-your-own omelet and another person had pancakes. All very good. We had to try/share an order of chicken-fried bacon which led to a huge debate of whether you dip in syrup or not (the reviewer is a staunch keep the salty and sweet separate guy!).
