Went to Holy Grail last night for the first time. It's a really awesome pub for a casual hang out or date. Loved all of the cool flags hanging from all over the world. Our waiter who introduced himself as big Mike was pretty cool. Loved his vibe! We didn't order food but had a couple of beers. I tried the Deep Ellum IPA which was pretty tasty. There was also a waitress who would walk around with mini glasses of Guinness handing them out to whoever wanted them. That was pretty cool too! Would love to go back and maybe try more premium beers and food. read more

My husband and I have been going here for years. Went this afternoon for a quick bite and learned that several of the longtime staff have left. That was a major disappointment. After we paid our bill with a credit card, I noticed that we were charged a 3% credit card fee. That was a first, and likely began in April since our last visit was on 3/24/26 and no credit card fee was assessed. Nowhere on the menu was it mentioned there would be a credit card fee, nor was it articulated by a bartender. That sort of fee makes me wonder what's going on in this establishment. Cool setting and music There is seating indoor and outdoor. Service from our waitress was great and food came out really quickly. The pretzels were my favorite. I wasn't expecting how soft they were and the chunkiness of the salt. It came with two dips- cheese and horseradish (very strong). Personally, I enjoy strong horseradish, however my family wasn't a huge fan. The cheese dip was a little bland. The burger was large and cooked well. The peri peri chicken wings were cooked well (crispy on the outside and tender on the inside), however not as flavorful. Peri peri is usually pretty packed and has some spice. We specifically came for the Fish n Chips. Huge portion that can be split between two. The beer batter was great and so was the tartar sauce. I do, however, think you should know your fish. We hadn't tried pollock previously. It was "softer" than we expected or what we are use to with cod and mahi mahi. If you like pollock, then this is a really great plate! read more

We went in for lunch on a Thursday- it's in a strip mall so it's not terribly hard to find a spot to park- pretty much had the place to ourselves. Sat in a booth and had the bartender as a waiter. He was a nice fella and didn't forget we existed. We ordered fried pickles as an appetizer, they were out quickly and were DELICIOUS. Great dipping sauce too- ranch is so tired, I liked the zest! I saw a picture online of the steak frites and... oh man was that not what I got. The meat was cooked perfectly, however, if I had closed my eyes I would have told you with 100% certainty that no seasonings whatsoever were anywhere near it. I had no idea chimichurri could taste blank. The fries in the photo looked amazing. Apparently that's a special menu ask or something- no flavor in sight. My fiancé had... brisket sandwich maybe? It was good. My food made me sorely regret not getting the Cuban that I originally had my eyes on. His sandwich was good enough to still be open to trying it again. I came with a friend for a drink recently. It was opening weekend for World Cup and the place was decked out and packed. I had been here only once before here years ago, but they have expanded considerably since then. Love the dark pub feel and the prices were amazing. The bar staff was so attentive and friendly. After biking at Erwin Park in McKinney, it was late and I needed some grub (and Guinness, for strength!). My friend recommended this on his list of Irish Pubs around here, so I decided to give it a try. For a strip mall Irish Pub, it does take you into another world. Cool entrance that opens up to a horseshoe bar with tons of tables and booths. It was Trivia night, so they only had the Stanley Cup playoff on one TV. Sat down at the bar and ordered my Guinness and reviewed the menu. There were a couple of selections I was interested in (always gravitate to Bangers n' Mash), but went with the fish & chips with French Onion soup. Get these together, because the fish is delicious in the beef broth of the French Onion! It was good, though fish could've used a little more batter with the thick walleye filets. I loved it all and enjoyed the conversation with the bartender with the I Love Indie Horror hat. Some good ones out there that aren't being made like they use to!! read more

Came by on a Monday for lunch, besides my party of 2 there was just one other patron inside. Obviously not busy so we decided to sit at the bar. We were immediately greeted by the bartender - I forget his name but he was very professional and friendly. For a starter we ordered the soft pretzel twists ($10) - pub food for the win! Then onto entrees, I ordered the pork schnitzel ($16) and my bf got the fish & chips ($20). Both meals were fantastic! I absolutely loved the schnitzel I got, even the green beans were seasoned/cooked well. My bf also enjoyed his meal, there were no leftovers for either of us. I didn't drink but my bf did, they have a good beer list - he was happy. We really liked the medieval pub style ambiance and the cleanliness. Plus, pricing is 100% reasonable in my opinion. My boyfriend has been talking about this place for MONTHS & we finally had a chance to stop in. We started with the Hummus (delish!) & a cpl of beers. They weren't too busy yet for an early Friday evening. The bar is a big wrap around w/ plenty of seating. Great ambiance even w/o any music (or if it was playing it was super low). Bartenders were attentive. We finished w/ the Espresso Cheesecake which was hands down one of the best I've ever had!! The Lindermans Framboise was a hit as well. 10/10 will return! It's very dark . Dark wood typical bar feel. We went to watch the cowboy game said on line a place to watch . They have lots of screens all across the long bar . They were all playing the same soccer game . There was 1 small tv that had no visibility from anywhere . I hinted could they do one with Cowboys game . Nope. Ordered a burger that got good reviews . Ordered medium well. We've usually found well done. It's too dry. But medium comes out too bloody. This one basically came out raw. Somebody call the Knights of Nee and Sir Lancelot, and tell them about The Holy Grail! This place is great! My friend and fellow Yelper Diana D. hipped me to this place and it has quickly become a favorite! The atmosphere is very on-theme as a medieval tavern. There is an extensive drink menu, with particularly well-crafted (read "strong") bourbon drinks, and all for $10-$12! The Lavender Old Fashioned is really great if you're into Old Fashioneds, and the Bulleit Proof is also really great and extremely strong! As for food, I've had the fried pickles, the fried goat cheese, the brisket grilled cheese sandwich, and the meatloaf. Everything has been good! No notes. The service at The Holy Grail has been consistently good the times I've been here as well. The staff are all very friendly and patient. Also the rickety dilapidated wood slats on the front windows make it look old and boarded up. Do you want people to think you are closed? I've lived directly behind this "bar" for 7 years and I never noticed it until today. The bartender said they've been around 15 years, but they have to be mistaken. Noone I know has ever heard of them. Food was okay. Prices on par for the area, but plating looked boring and cheap. Service was good. Cocktails were average, nothing fun or exciting. They are to have a meeting tomorrow and the Mgr was going to have it fixed! I could not be more proud of the staff and the way they handled this. PERFECT! While I would normally give a 2-3 star, I'm giving 4 because of the excellent service I got and the way they handled everything. And several people around me said the burgers were crazy good. Be aware, you will need to slowly adjust your vision when you walk into the pub. I went there for Happy Hour with some colleagues and we were all blinded coming in from the bright sunlight to a dark room. Happy Hour consisted of certain discounted beers and $4 house wines and well drinks. Food options were okay. We tried the Fried Pickles, Cheese Curds, and Wings. Typical bar food so nothing to boast about. Several TVs around the bar to catch the Olympics so that was nice. I know I have reviewed this place a few years ago. My husband and I have been coming here for at least 16 years. My oldest who is now 19 was a little girl when we started visiting the HG. I have to say this place got it right. It survived Covid! But besides their craft beers and London pub look I think the reason this place continues to thrive is because of their food. They always have good freaking food! I have been to so many places in the dallas area where they over charge you and the food is garbage. However the holy grail always has been consistent with their quality/flavorful dishes. They have the best fries. Period! Their burger is not only tasty but perfectly cooked with the right bun. Now they have some cajun wings and they are amazing! Fried or smoked cant tell bc they taste fried but not greasy. Some cajun seasoning but not too much. They are perfect! Their chicken sandwich/and their fried chicken when they had it on the menu was fantastic!! Crispy/delicious/perfect. My husband loves their steak frites with the garlic aioli. The steak is always cooked the correct way and the sauce was super garlicky if you love garlic like we do you'll be happy. Service is decent. No complaints. I know they do change staff quite a lot but Im assuming thats normal for the food industry. Most of their staff is pretty knowledgeable about craft beers- which is what my husband drinks. I love the ambiance of the place. They have soccer playing on their TV's the music is always cool hits but not at a high volume. And the lighting is pretty dark/bar style which I love. This place is perfect for friends hangout, dates, eating alone and even hangout with the family. I was so excited to see Robin Lore a singer/songwriter/1-man band as entertainment there. I will most definitely be back if she is a regular show there at the Pub. This has been one of my favorite spots for over 10 years! The food is incredible but the beer selection and knowledgeable staff is why we come back again and again.
