Came in for a cold beer and the Irish options met my criteria. Not English pumps but whatever.

Came out to celebrate St. Patty's day. They were super busy, as expected, but that did not affect the service at it. It was topnotch! The food was pretty good and the drinks were even better. I love the look and feel of this Irish pub. We really picked the best place to celebrate this year.

It's cute inside. A pool game costs a dollar, not bad at all. Wife and I both had the Irish Bee Sting and it was tasty, great jalapeño flavor but not very strong. I had fun!

Great spot this was the second spot we went to for our Christmas beer crawl had a great band playing. It was packed, but we still got good service didn't get to try the food but will definitely be back.

I had so much fun here. Friendly crowd, drinks, chicken tenders and fries were all good. Outdoor patio and upstairs seating and bar are all good for watching games

We love coming here for Sunday morning brunch! It's hard to find blood sausage and their brunch knocks it out of the park with the full Irish fry up!! We also love the fully embraced Irish decor of the bar itself. Will continue to visit!!!!

only upstairs was open the monday afternoon we went. good, cold beer. somewhat noisy pool game going on behind us and no food. had a good time overall and servee was friendly

The service and ambiance are decent--nothing exceptional but perfectly fine. However, the food itself is pretty average and didn't stand out. That said, the beer selection looked impressive, so next time, I might stop by just to enjoy a drink.

Located on the main square of downtown McKinney is this Irish pub. We entered and could see that all of the booths and tables downstairs were filled, so we followed the music upstairs. There was a live band playing easy listening, folksy music from the late 60s and 70s like Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville and Elton John's Daniel. The band members were probably in their heyday during those years. The crowd bellied up to the bar was much younger but spanned the ages of 20 somethings all the way into the 50s. It was crowded, but a barrel table with two high chairs opened up, so we nabbed them. A waitress came by to clear the table of the plates from the previous party and told us we would have to go to the bar to order. I went to the bar and tried to get the bartender's attention without success. I then went to the end of the bar where two waitresses were hanging out and asked if they could take my order. They sent me to the other end of the bar where there was a cashier station, and then they promptly went back to gossiping instead of working. I was put off by this and turned the task over to my husband. He found a different waitress near the cashier and was able to order drinks and food in no time. While he was doing that, a completely different waitress actually stopped by our table and asked for my order. I told her my husband was at the bar ordering. She gave me a look of death, threw up her hands in anger, and backed a way without hearing my protest that another waitress had directed us to the bar. The staff there obviously need to communicate with one another and get on the same page. This was a frustrating experience and really made me not want to stay, and I definitely don't want to return. The fish and chips were actually quite good. The two pieces of cod were huge, fluffy and tender with a delicious, light, crispy beer batter fry enveloping the outside of each piece. I wish we had come here earlier or at a time when the service had been better. I doubt we will return to this bar. It was a mixed bag of good, bad, and mediocre experiences. If you live in McKinney, you might not have much of a choice. There seems to be quite a few other late night spots to check out.

Service was excellent we had the opportunity to do a Whiskey testing. The food was testy and portions was fabulous we can't finish all the food. I totally recommend.

Yes I've only given it 3 stars - yes I liked the place - yes I will go back - yes i will recommend it to others. However the food quality and taste was disappointing. Very pleased to say that it felt more like an authentic Irish pub than an American version of what someone thinks an Irish pub should look like. The selection of beers from the UK and Ireland is amazing! My favorite beer when in Ireland is Guinness and a true test of any pub this side of the pond is how their Guinness compares. Happy to report that their Guinness is a solid 8/10 on my taste scale As for the food - we ordered a few wide range of items and apart from the corned beef and cabbage spring rolls - nothing stood out as being stellar. The full Irish fry up was okay but the black pudding was powdery and inedible - the beans tasted okay but they were not traditional Heinz - and no offering of any HP (brown) sauce. The fish in the fish and chips was covered in a batter that was too bready and heavy and there were no mushy peas. The scotch eggs did not have enough pork sausage around the egg. Just a few simple menu tweaks and this pub could be the perfect spot for a homesick person from the motherland

    Keep sharing....

The environment is Irish pub, duh! Wood, brick, etc. It's cool. The service was on task and ready to work. Thanks! The food was better than you'd think. Seriously! Great options. We tried jalapeno chorizo - winning! Chicken Tiki masala, voodoo pasta cabbage egg rolls.... it was all wonderfully tasty. This was a fun spot! Oh, they have beer too.

The place was POPPING on a Wednesday night. From 7-9 pm there was a large Irish music group playing, and it made the entire restaurant feel alive. At one point someone ordered a round of drinks on the house, so the mood was great. The food and service was also exceptional. The fish and chips were amazing, the fish was served in thick cuts, so it was plenty of food.

Half an order of fries...full order if you ask the bartender.

My friend recommended this on his list of Irish Pubs around here, so I decided to give it a try. For a strip mall Irish Pub, it does take you into another world. Cool entrance that opens up to a horseshoe bar with tons of tables and booths. It was Trivia night, so they only had the Stanley Cup playoff on one TV. Sat down at the bar and ordered my Guinness and reviewed the menu. There were a couple of selections I was interested in (always gravitate to Bangers n' Mash), but went with the fish & chips with French Onion soup. Get these together, because the fish is delicious in the beef broth of the French Onion! It was good, though fish could've used a little more batter with the thick walleye filets. After we paid our bill with a credit card, I noticed that we were charged a 3% credit card fee. Nowhere on the menu was it mentioned there would be a credit card fee, nor was it articulated by a bartender. That sort of fee makes me wonder what's going on in this establishment. We walked into the bar 90 minutes before kickoff and found a table in the middle of the bar that could accommodate our party and had good viewing of the screens. As we went to sit down, a man approached us and told us that the table we were sitting at was for some "regulars" and asked us to move. The table had no sign on it that it was reserved and this man did not identify himself as an owner or manager of the establishment. Choosing to take the high road, I moved our group to another table that could accommodate our party that was off to the side. Sure enough, the "regulars" came rolling in shortly before kickoff to their "unreserved" reserved table. This is just bad business. And discourages people who are not "regulars" from coming to the bar. I regularly attend a Chicago Bears bar in Los Angeles where I live and have never had such issues. There are no unspoken "reserved" tables for "regulars." It's completely first come, first serve as it should be. If you want your "regulars" to have their table waiting for them when they arrive, just stick a reserved sign on it. Or tell them to get there early. Not difficult. We also waited forever for our drinks while the "regulars" at their "unreserved" reserved table were kept fully stocked. The service and the food was mid anyway and not worth the price. Trust me, I picked up what you were laying down. We aren't regulars, so it's whatever. I won't be back.

So, we thought - why not, it's close- let's go and see if we like it better this time. Let's start with the positives. We arrived shortly after 5pm and the place was pretty empty so we were seated right away. The server was friendly and immediately took our drink orders. She was attentive and service was fast. No complaints with her service at all. It seemed pretty chill and low key. A few people trickled in but nothing crazy for a Saturday night. We ordered the pretzel appetizer and I was pleasantly surprised. The color of the pretzel had me fooled. It was pretty dark in color which usually indicates overdone and hard so when it was amazingly soft inside - wow! So good! We loved the mustard and cheese sauce that came with it. My husband and son ordered a burger and said they were tasty, my other son ordered the chicken strips and said they were good. Negative for the meal, I ordered the blackened cod tacos and subbed the chips and salsa for the Gilroy Garlic Fries. I was very excited for the garlic fries since we are originally from that area and are very knowledgeable about the famous Gilroy Garlic Festival and all things Garlic. Here's where this dish wasn't exciting - the tacos were pretty bland. I took the coleslaw from my son's chicken tenders to try and add more flavor and make the taco more palatable. I only ate 1 of the 2 because there really was just zero flavor. The fries were probably an even greater disappointment. In the center, was a very small amount of cheese and maybe garlic? It had virtually zero garlic taste - I was searching for it. It was a sad version of garlic fries. I would not order that again unless they were improved upon. I went back and forth on 3 stars versus 4 stars because while service was great and fast, I can't confidently say I'd recommend it to someone. I may say it's a great place to chill for a beer and an appetizer but definitely NOT a meal. I think if your expectations are to stick with the appetizer list then you're probably going to like it. They have a large beer selection and plenty of screens for your favorite games.

The Brass Tap was founded in Florida in 2008, with 50 locations across 12 states. This location in Allen opened in 2015. Our group of six arrived for lunch on a weekday, and it wasn't very crowded inside. The one bartender was doing all of the front of house chores. He was very good, doing the easy customer interaction that appears to be simple but actually isn't that common. Waters were gotten for the table, and he was receptive to our offer of help. We ordered a selection of most things on the shareable bar menu (many of them Happy Hour prices): including pepperoni pizza, boom boom shrimp, mac 'n cheese, onion rings, pretzel, plain cheese burger with fries, brisket taco platter, chicken quesadilla, and chicken wings. Everything was OK to good, with me really liking the crispiness of the well fried french fries and the well-filled quesadilla. I did get to share a couple of drinks with my nephew including a pint of Paulaner ($7.25) and HH drink of the week (a bourbon sour mix for $7). A cool feature at a Brass Tap is their leader board: a Brew Crew Hall of Brews where patrons that have drunk at least 100 different beers at this location get their name listed.
