This used to be one of my favorite places to go in Concord but boy has it gone downhill. The service has been terrible the past few times I went and tonight was the last straw after waiting 20 minutes with nobody coming to greet the table. I ended up walking out and driving to Enoodles. It saddens me that such a good restaurant is not what it used to be. It is more expensive, the staff does not know how to handle the guests, and Enoodles is right up the street which is better in every possible way. I will not be going back after tonight. read more

This place was quite bad. A mix of Chinese-American, Vietnamese-American, Japanese-American. Calamari was not what it's name implies. One inch long pieces of who-knows-what very fried, with little flavor. Where were legs? Rings? I tasted no squid. My rice plate of curried chicken was bland and sweet. Went for BOGO sushi, never got any. Been here for an hour. Asked our waitress to take it off the bill. A couple that was seated after us got their sushi. Waitress never refilled my water, and we have been sitting here for fifteen minutes ready to pay the check to get outta here. Used to love this place, but not anymore sadly. I've eaten at The Asian Cafe several times now. The great thing about this restaurant is that they offer 1/2 Sushi rolls M-Th Dine in after 8ish. It's the best Sushi in Concord IMO. Their Chinese American dishes are very tasty as well. I recently ordered beef LoMein in anticipation for a greasy Chinese dish and got a delicious no grease Beef LoMein. I ate all of it and it was a very generous portion. My boyfriend usually opts for the General Tso's Chicken or Sesame Chicken. He has yet to complain. As far as Sushi goes, we usually order the Spicy Tuna, Yellowtail and Tempura Roll. Regarding my comment about it being the best in Concord, it is good not amazing. I think what makes it most appealing is that it's 15min. away vs. the 45min. drive to our more preferred Sushi restaurants. If you're in the area and in the mood for good Chinese/American grub then head on in. Plus, there's a delicious FroYo place next door for dessert! read more

This was my first time at Asian Cafe and I will definitely be back again! I came with a good friend of mine to grab drinks and some food. We were greeted by the hostess who told us we could eat and drink right at the bar so there we went! I am new to sushi and our server Alex had no problem describing what was in each sushi roll for a newb like me! The manager Bennett brought out my bento box almost immediately (which was delicious and thanks Alex for helping me select my new favorite sushi roll). While dropping off our food, Bennett suggested I try a Moscow Mule, which was my first time trying a ginger beer, it was very good and I will definitely order more Moscow mules from now on! I have ate here several times. Everything is always great. Their basic sushi rolls like spicy tuna or crunchy shrimp are always great. The buy one, get a second free after 8 pm on a week night makes a great deal. Bento box, miso soup, bang bang shrimp, spring rolls, any noodle dishes are all very tasty as well. great service by all. Good location for a quick sushi craving. Many rolls to chose from. We'll go again. What else................... They have water, and a bar.

The service was great, and the food was even better! The bartender Alex, made amazing drinks and was very friendly. My daughter and I eat her at least once a week and it's our favorite! We always take advantage of the 1/2 price sushi and we get alot of the money! I would rather get my food to go because the service while dining in is not good. The last time we dined in the waitress acted like she was rushing us to leave. You can't go wrong with 1/2 priced sushi! Everyday after 8, they offer any sushi roll at half price. They give you the same amount as they would if you were paying full price, the quality is the same ( I have paid full price), and the sushi is consistent. The staff is alright, especially the older lady. She makes an attempt to make small talk and say thank you for coming. Only issue is that they get really mad if you order something and don't like it whether it be a drink, sushi, an entree, etc. I know this is Asian food, but we are in AMERICA where we make a wrong dining experience right not get combative defending a dish........Other than that, I have no issues and would suggest this place in a heartbeat. read more

Chicken egg roll: better than strictly take out places, didn't taste any chicken, lacked flavor, but did taste fresh. Crab Rangoon: barely crab flavor but pretty good. Chicken was very good, tender and juicy. While the sesame sauce was delicious and not cloyingly sweet the chicken was swimming in it. The fried rice was a disappointment. Very dry and flavorless, unless dirty dishwater is a flavor. Tried a couple of bites and even drowned in sesame chicken sauce it wasn't good. My husband enjoyed his lo mein dish. read more

My husband and I have eaten at the Asian Cafe several times and really liked it. The food was fresh and was always served hot. Once we had a child and she turned 2 1/2 we decided that we would take our daughter so she could try Chinese for the first time. They post signs that say "kids eat free" so we thought it was a "Kid friendly" establishment. To our amazement it was the WORST dining experience I have ever had. My daughter started to get a little fussing during dinner, mind you we were not the only customers with kids eating that day, and the waitress came over and began trying to talk with my daughter. At first, I thought she was trying to be nice. But after some time she just stood over me and my daughter as we tried to eat and would not leave the side of our table we decided to leave. My daughter began to cry and get more agitated due to the woman just standing there staring at her. I could not believe this woman. I could see if my child was crying, screaming, and throwing food. Recently I went to Asian Cafe and got take out. I asked for brown rice ( paid the $1 up charge) when got home I observed that I got fried rice rather than brown rice ( I live 25 mins away). I called, spoke to the hostess and Assistant Manager. They appeared to be unapologetic. I explained to them that I have an allergy. The offered for me to drive back and change out my rice. I explained that I lived 25 mins away. They then offered me the $1 credit. I requested that they at least reimburse me the full cost of the rice. The Assistance Manger advised me that she was not " authorized " to make that call. She took down my contact info and insured me that the owner would call me back ( the owner appeared to be the only person who could offer me the $5or so credit). She never called back. The Assistant Manager advised me that the owner had been sick. Anyway it may not be a big deal to others but its customer service 101. I NEVER received a call back. read more

Wow what a complete disappointment!!! Stopped in when my girlfriends mother came to town because the last visit was pretty good. This time when we arrived we overheard the bartender being very rude to somebody at the bar when we walked past. After our drink order was taken we ordered two sushi rolls as appetizers. After waiting 30 min. For the sushi our entrees came out first. Kinda defeats the purpose of an appetizer if it takes 30 minutes especially if the sushi cook is talking on his cell phone. When the sushi finally came out, the fried roll we ordered was cold. Wtf? When we informed the server that it was cold she removed it and apologized. Five min later the server asked if we would like another roll and i asked if they were making us a new roll since the first one was cold which she replied oh i didnt think u wanted another one since it was so slow coming out the first time.
