Just recently Mr. Miller started expanding land he owned behind the building for a soccer field.

Truly 4.5 Stars. The…read moreChili Disc Golf is another feather in the cap of Rochester's disc golf scene. This is a beautiful links style (ball golf style) course in a park. While I adore disc golf's blending with other park dwellers, it is refreshing to play a course where the only other people there are disc golf enthusiasts. The on site bathrooms are not always open, but they are maintained well by the Chili parks department. The front nine finish at the parking lot, and the back nine starts at the same place. This is an underrated perk; it is nice to play one half of the course or start on the back nine if there is a crowd. Every tee is concrete and long enough for my ridiculous approach. The course itself is a challenge for all skill levels. My wife has a weaker arm than I do, but my long shots are punished if they stray from the fairways. There are four notable holes on the course. Hole #6 plays out of the woods, across the creek, and dog ears hard to the left. Hole #11 is a monster; a 911 foot par 4. Hole #17 plays with an old grain silo as an obstacle. And Hole #18 is a beautiful back and forth 716 foot that plays to a man made hill. The bugs can be out of control here, but it's summer. Complaining about mosquitoes seems crazy. This is a beautiful course and a must play for every fan of the sport.

We are told this *after* we pay for the rental. Their response? "You can come back later and see if someone returned one." But, we already paid, and so did the people who are wearing those skates. 2) skate for awhile in the wrong size skates, PAIN 3) Zamboni: Nope, no zamboni, so it's like you're skating on loose legos. 4) Go back to check as suggested, they still don't have the right size. No surprise, who returns skates before time is up? No one of course. More painful skating. 5) Return skates, but the family will not be returning to RIT. Plenty of other rinks locally.

Hockey? Check. Figure skating? Check…read more Adult only session times? Check. Freestyle figure skating sessions? Check. Clean/spacious locker rooms? Check. Skate rental sharpening? Check. Convenient location for biking/commuting/busing? Check. Ample parking? Check. Bonus points for being managed by a group of some of the best people- the staff are really great, and there's a community of regular skaters that make this place a second home for many, not just a facility selling ice time. Helpful fyi: - apparently this rink is cold. I'm a bad judge of this, but I'm good at judging my non-skate friends who come to spectate or who don't usually ice skate. Bring layers to be safe. Comparing to other rinks I would say it's nowhere near as cold as RITs hockey rink at Polissini Arena or Paul Lewis rink, but it's not... warm? -no regular snack bar/cafe here. They have one, but it's only used during hockey games or other special times of high volume/staffing -you can spectate through some smaller panes in the lobby- there's a few chairs/couches and it is warm in there, but it's not set up as a true "viewing" space. During public sessions, the bleachers aren't out, but there are tables and chairs to sit at to put on skates, and a central place to keep your things. -they have scooters/pushers you can use for free for kids learning how to skate -season for this rink is typically only Sep-April, because in the summer this facility also serves as as the admin building for the parks and large newly renovated pool out front which is honestly how most people know about the rink! This rink is one of my favorites in the Roc for it's still somewhat lesser known existence and the casual vibe it maintains as a municipal rink funded by the city. Since it's part of the park, when the weather warmer you can bring a picnic and plan to spend time in nature before or after the ice. This rink is the indoor twin of the outdoor rink at MLK in downtown, but most people don't make that connection.
