This place is great took my 3 YO grandniece a couple days ago. It is very affordable you only pay admission for the children not the adults. Also the cafe/snack bar food was tasty, and very reasonably priced. Two dollars for a cup of coffee $1.50 for a cup of tea as it is winter, we were availing ourselves of the hot beverages. I was expecting more from this place in terms of customer service but it could have been the day I visited and they were just short staffed. I came here with my toddler son on a not so busy weekday along with some other mom friends. We did like the different areas of play set up and my son particularly liked the water play area. Though we did find the water super cold for the kids but my son still had a good time. The area beside it was flooded from the water play so we couldn't use it. It would also be nice if they had another swing set up since that seemed to be a popular place. We did like how much the seating area there was. The sign for the cafe does say no outside food allowed but with toddlers and babies, you sort of do need to bring your own snacks which they seemed fine with you doing. We were told by someone in the community that the food was really good but we didn't find anything special about it. When my friend went to order two coffees from the cafe, the person serving her did not even tell her that she could just fill her cup of coffee by herself with the canister that was resting on the counter. By the time she figured it out, the canister was empty and they had to make more coffee and that took another 15 minutes or so. They also were out of pizza that day which was disappointing and it seemed that the service took quite a long time for them to make simple sandwiches even if you wanted just grilled cheese sandwiches. I was looking for something new to do with my 11 month old and decided to check Ontario Play & Cafe out. Their website stated they had a play area for little under 3. However, while we were there, there were children older than 3 playing in this area with no supervision making it much less safe for my child to play freely. Even more problematic was the fact that this area (and really all of the play areas) was visibly dirty both on the ground and on the few toys available in the area. This is a space meant for young children who are crawling and on the floor constantly. This level of uncleanliness is just unacceptable. We left within minutes of arriving and would have requested a refund but there was no one at the front desk to even talk to. Incredibly disappointing and would not recommend to anyone. read more

This is a nice clean place to bring your kids or grandkids to come and spend some time just playing and being a kid for a few hours. They can climb and slide on the big pirate ship or enjoy some dizziness on the circle swing. The water table is always a big hit and the sand box not filled with the kinetic sand any more it's now filled with black beans and much easier to clean up too. Enjoy a quick snack while taking a break. This is a good spot to enjoy especially when winter comes and the darlings need a fun day. You can also book a birthday party there. Great place for the kids to play! But plan lunch somewhere else. Outside food or beverage is not allowed, understandable due to allergies. But the day we went with a bunch of friends for a big old play date, their ovens were not working. All the kids wanted pizza - and you know kids, especially toddlers, can be picky eaters! They wouldn't eat a Turkey sandwich or any of the limited options on the menu. One parent asked for a grilled cheese with sauce on it (to replicate pizza for her toddler) and they gave us a hard time about it. We had to order grilled cheese and then come back and ask another worker for a side of sauce. Which we finally were given. We tried to order the displayed soup of the day. Staff refused saying it was still frozen. Another staff member said, "it's been frozen for a while, it's really gross". So now we have a bunch of hungry kids and our only options are chips and cookies. We asked the staff if they would make an exception on the outside food rule so we could continue play, and have a bite to eat. After one staff member checked with another staff member , then another, they finally asked the manager who denied us the option of ordering pizza. Within 10 minutes of this ordeal, a number of pizzas were delivered to the facility for the birthday parties. They had extra pies so they cut them up and were selling slices for a dollar a slice. Everyone in the place wanted pizza though, and when we realized they were selling it, we got online, but they had "sold out" by the time it was our turn to order. There were still 4 or 5 pizzas on display, but they were reserved for other parties. Also, I ordered a hot chocolate and it was brown flavorless water. There was no cocoa taste. We spent so much money on nasty grilled cheese that the kids refused to eat and cookies and chips. It was awful. I have been there for few years now and the place is the great place for kids to go to play. I also like the fact that they have a baby room where babies can play while their older siblings can play to fun without accidentally hurt them. I give 4 stars because the play area for water needs to improve a bit better with clothes protectors because kids play and didn't realize that it will go down to their pants which it leads to wet pants. I am not very fan of wet clothes especially during wintertime. The price of food has increased and restricts the options for food especially with kids who are picky eaters. I would wish to have more options and we all can enjoy without feeling limited with food. It is only my opinion, but I don't know about others how they feel about food restriction. read more

At the time, my 15 mth old loved the water station. It's not a splash area, but she does what she loves so splashing she did. They have little aprons for the kids to wear, but I highly recommend bringing an extra set of clothes. They have a few different sections for different ages. I think kids ages 2-7 may utilize more of what the playground has to offer such as the playground, swing, and climbing tower thing. I think it's spacious enough for running kids. They also have a small cafe to order food/drinks. At admission, we received a ticket for a few bucks off at the cafe. Overall, a nice indoor option to take your kids. read more

What a great place to take the grandchildren to run off a little energy. They had a blast running and playing on the activities. The area was clean and safe. The kids had such a great time. My only concern would be that there was no monitoring by employees. We didn't see anyone walking around making sure the policies were being followed. The area with bikes had many kids that were playing "bumper" cars.....parents were there talking and paying no attention. My husband I did mention to the kids that they shouldn't be doing it, and they did stop. The water and sand areas were great and the kids had so much fun. The pirate ship was amazing. Great food... They will be expanding the menu for kids. I recommend the pizza and and chocolate chip cookie !! Food prices are very reasonable. You can see just about all play areas while you are eating. This place is great for 6/7 years old and younger. We paid $27 for 2 adults and 1 child (6 yr old). My granddaughter likes the water play area. They have plastic smocks but you may want to bring an extra set of clothes just in case. They do have free wifi - just ask. I decided to bring my 3 year old granddaughter here this past weekend for something to do. I wasn't impressed at all. I found the place to be very dirty, kitchen was closed, the water smelled horrible in the water play area, the dryer was broken...sign said get napkins on counter, and of course no napkins, couldn't even sit down at a table due to all tables being filthy and not even wiped down, foam mats were black, literally disgusting! We've been a few times now with different friends. 2 times ago we went on a Saturday night. It was great until they started cleaning the bathroom before they closed and my friend was told it was closed for the night. There was still 30 min of open, paid for time.. the last time we went was a Sunday morning. And this time they clearly didn't clean Saturday night. The entire 2.5 hours we were there they were vacuuming the playground area where kids had to watch out for cords, sweeping the sand area and finally around noon closing off and sanitizing the only baby, sock only area. That's the area my 7month old was in an hour prior. So glad to see them clean but it needs to be done before doors are open especially areas where babies are crawling!!! We went around 10am on a Friday when local schools were off, and there were still lots of parking spots and booths inside. I felt comfortable leaving our belongings at a booth because the layout is very open and I could see my stuff at all times. This is also helpful for keeping an eye on your kiddos :) The play equipment is AWESOME. My three year old had a blast and loved every area they had. The kinetic sand and giant indoor swing were particular favorites. The pirate playground equipment is great, there are cars (for all ages) to ride around on, a foam climbing area for 5 and under, and a water area (with smocks so your kids don't get TOO wet). While you cannot bring outside snacks in to keep the area peanut-free, no one checked bags for snacks - so parents of kids with severe allergies, be aware that there could still be peanuts on the equipment. The food in the cafe is available for purchase, and includes soup, pizza, and pasta dishes. There are also fruit cups, applesauce cups, milk, juice boxes, and water. The biggest downside is that the food is so expensive: $5-$6 for a (homemade) thin slice of pizza! Kind of unreasonable pricing. Things to bring with you: dry shoes for kids to run around in, water bottle(s), and dry shirts to change into after the water table. I would suggest coming after lunch and staying for the afternoon to avoid the cost of food. The overall high cost was the reason this place didn't get 5 stars; if they get a year-long pass of some sort, I think that would be great. read more

We went on a Thursday afternoon and there were only about 6 other kids there. Sat in the middle to keep an eye on all areas. Tons of space to run, shoes allowed (except in toddler area. Staff was very friendly though they seemed bored and stayed out of sight or behind counters. Coffee was cold. A few of the wall hand sanitizer dispensers were empty. No stool at the sink in the unisex bathroom. Smocks were useless for keeping kids dry and should be replaced. Food was decent, no meal options for anyone dairy free or vegetarian. Despite the offerings it felt like there wasn't much to do. Large motor and sensory seems like an incomplete play experience. They definitely have room to include something that encourages layered and imaginative play. An art station or loose parts creative area, small building area (blocks), ramp and ball run wall or a little restaurant would all be great additions. read more

The place just opened and is very clean. It is easy to get to and plenty of parking. We paid $27 admission for our child (age 1.5) and 2 adults ($5 each). I think they could opt out in not charging adult (parents) admission. Other places that we have been to - do not charge parents and only charge the kids. I think the place could use a couple of TV (with cartoon or news on) for the parents that do not play. Since the place is enormous and fairly new - it feels kind of lonely especially since we were the only family there at the time. Just to have something for the parents to watch while the kids play would be helpful. The food here is great. Everything is made fresh and prepared with love. It's a peanut free facility which is good for kids with allergies. My daughter can't have gluten and although they only have one food item that we can eat right now, they mentioned they working on some gluten free items to sell. It amazes me how many good reviews this place has. My wife and I brought our 2-year-old today and while we really enjoyed the space, nothing else about Ontario Play & Cafe impressed us. While I appreciate that adults pay only $3 each for admission (current special, normally $5 each) with an included $3 voucher for food, that food was not good. Other reviewers have claimed it was "great" and prices are "reasonable." How is $5 for a single slice of mediocre pizza "reasonable", made from scratch or not? Weekend pricing for kids 2 and up is a bit inflated at $15 each. Sure, there's a lot to do here and everything is brand new, but that's a bit much. As a cafe, I'm underwhelmed. The food options are all kid-friendly, but not necessarily kid-portioned. There's enough mac and cheese on my plate for two kids. Not that I'd really want them to eat it after I saw it go from a plastic container in the fridge to a metal pot and then to the microwave after it didn't heat up in the metal pot quick enough (it was barely luke warm when it arrived at our table). I had the grilled cheese. Except that it hadn't seen a grill long enough to melt the cheese or warm the bread. And the second microwaving really brought out the lack of flavor. Luckily for my wife, her soup's second microwaving really did the trick. At least the actual space is great (and brand new). The water table is pretty big and there's a lot of fun things to play with. A giant pirate ship that kids (and parents) can climb and slide down (3 separate options). A sand area. Giant foam building blocks. Pedal cars in a small indoor track area. Hours of fun for any kid. Unfortunately that's about the only positive. Sure, it's a big one. Love this place!! I take my grandkids regularly and they are always excited to go. We have been going here since age 2. What is so great about it? A variety of activities, something for all ages, SUPER clean, and I love that it's wide open, so as long as they aren't too busy and the kids are old enough you can let the kids just go do their thing and you can see them no matter where they are. I also like that the entry process includes good locked gates so little ones can't escape easily. My only suggestion for improvement is better waterproof smocks for the water table. They are too small for anyone older than about 2, and the Velcro is also worn so it doesn't close well. The water table is awesome and the kids love it, but they end up soaked. read more

I love that everything is indoors, in a climate controlled environment which is perfect when our weather is all weird. My kids love the pirate ship slides, the pedal go-karts, and the water table. Because of the cost (but not a star detractor), we only come here when my kids have earned the trip. Amenities: Free wifi, convenient parking, discount admission for parents (3.00), clean restrooms, private room for nursing moms, friendly staff, and the location is super close to our house. Cons: price per kid $13 to $15.00. But it is still worth the cost to let my kids burn off some energy. read more

My friend and I brought our two 2-year-olds on a rainy day while we were visiting town, and didn't know what to expect. It was practically empty, which made me question our decision, but that ended up being a blessing! The space has cars/trikes, a soft area for non walkers or wobblers, an AMAZING water table (very science based, and huge), a ginormous pirate ship structure (with wide climbing areas so parents can head up too if needed), sand, blocks, and really awesome seesaws. Overall, I was just impressed by the unique things they had - sure, it's a play structure, but it was huge and tiered, and there was so much do to on that alone. Blocks, ok, been there done that, but they were very multi purpose! The pricing was a little confusing - weekday specials, strange age ranges or sibling discounts, cafe coupons for adults... (although the cafe is great- all homemade products, and very reasonable prices for a snack or lunch). So just kind of go knowing you'll pay something pretty reasonable, and don't get caught up in how they got that number. read more

This place was phenomenal!!!! It was our first visit to an indoor play place and it didn't disappoint. I was there with my best friend and our two kids, ages 3 and 4. The kids had a blast, the place was incredibly clean and well run, and there were many activities (and snacks) to keep the kids busy. I was having a blast myself running around with my daughter and will definitely return on super hot summer days and during the dead of winter. A great option when your kiddo needs to run around and play but the outdoor playground just isn't possible. I will definitely be back for more fun!! read more

Let me start with the bad then go into the good....it's quite pricey for two small children and one adult. $35 bucks! It is a pretty cool space and there is a lot of sensory friendly stations for my son with Autism. The water table/station was of course his favorite and most kids favorite. There is an area to ride non-mechanical cars, a large flat platform swing, a huge pirate ship playground, a kinetic sand area, soft building block area and a spinning/climbing wheel (another favorite). There was a ton of families there so it is well liked. There is a cafe with pizza, pasta, mac and cheese, drinks coffee etc. Super fun time! read more
