My name is Anne Pham, and I wanted Teresa to fix a haircut that I recently had elsewhere. I was impressed by her Yelp page and the work she has showcased on here. She's talented. We texted. She told me she was disappointed I wasn't patient to wait to work with her. I agreed I was impatient. She said that didn't sound good. I told her it was just a fact. She said she'd call me to discuss ideas. She didn't call, but text me instead after a few days. I then replied a few days later as well...since I too was busy and thought she'd be patient since I was...Anyways, I asked her if she thought if she could fix my hair or if I should wait to grow it out and she responded and told me I was wasting her time and that she was moving on, and to pay a consultation fee if I was serious. I basically was asking her questions that would have been discussed during the call that I didn't receive. I was hurt by her comment because it felt uncalled for, unfair, and unexpected. The situation escalated so quickly it surprised me. I told her I'd move on as well. I've accepted that we weren't a good match. I went in with a head full of hair; and before I knew it, I was left with all my hair cut off butchered, with uneven pieces with no rhyme or reason. Let me tell you I was at LAX picking up my daughter and it was crowded and my daughter text me and say mom when you drive up to pick get me be careful because the traffic guy is going off on everybody and I know how you are, I was like what every he better go some where. This review is long overdue. I'll try to keep it short and sweet ;) I found The Attitude Adjusted here on Yelp. Messaged Ms. Teresa in need of some help with my hair. I had no idea what to do with it and honestly was tired of braids, wigs, protective styles and all. I love short hairstyles and we matched perfectly. We had a video consultation before the actual appointment. Teresa gave her honest feedback and suggestions moving forward about my hair. It was nice to get to know her a bit before trusting her completely with my hair. She followed up with her pricing, availability and follow up appointments instructions. Her space in Salon Republic is bright and glamorous. I love the mirrors!!! Everything is kept clean and sanitized. It's just you her and some good music. Even through the ups and downs of covid lockdown for salons, she always made sure to communicate with her clients with updates for future appointments. I'll be honest, her prices are a little $$$. You also have to pay for parking up to $15 for your time there. It's LA/Hollywood so it's not that surprising. But I enjoy my experience and I know my hair is in good hands. Teresa is a miracle worker!! After lockdown the hair salon that I would usually go to closed down. And I was desperate to transform my hairs after 2 years of no professional hairstyling. It's sad to say that since the pandemic it has become extremely difficult to find a hair stylist that specializes in black hair, real black/African American hair. Everyone now seems to be specializing braids and weaves, which is something that I have seriously grown out of. I have been to Teresa twice this year, and she never disappoints. AMAZING!! If I could give 100 stars, I would! I don't go on Yelp, but I had to make an account to just give this hair stylist, no, hair ARTIST a review. Teresa is AMAZING! She is friendly, professional, and intelligent! I have been to multiple hair stylists and NONE of them could top her skill! When I first sat down and explained my situation to her, she fully listened, and then told me what was wrong with my hair condition. In fact, she didn't even just tell me, she physically showed me everything. She showed me how fragile my heat damaged strands were and how bumpy and coarse it was throughout the whole strand. I never even noticed this before and was extremely impressed as she explained why my hair breaks off so easily. My scalp was so flaky and dry, but she THOROUGHLY cleaned and moisturized it! She also helped me with my "at-home" shampoo/conditioner/flat-iron routine so that I can help my heat damaged hair without have to do the "big chop". I reaaaaallllly appreciated this and that she was so understanding. When she cut my hair, it was so well done that I didn't even notice it was cut! My hair came out soooo silky and smooth. She also explained how to wrap and keep my heat curls! The one thing that I appreciated about Teresa is she's just so passionate about her job. She knows her stuff, and when she doesn't know something, she's not afraid to hold back. I really trusted her with my hair. She took her time to explain everything and I never felt that it was rushed. She was able to save my already fragile hair and we were able to come with a plan to KEEP it healthy.
