Beautiful building with plenty of parking nearby. Service was great, the hot coffee and pastries are delicious. So glad I stopped in for a visit and a treat. lots of things to see and buy. I highly recommend it.

They don't scream come in and eat but they should be saying or screaming "Get in here and eat or you will be sorry". Enjoyed their beef stew with more beef than veggies on top of thick curly noodles for lunch that was big enough to share. There was no sharing of pie slices and sadly they were out of strawberry rhubarb Luckily the custard was my 2nd choice. Pet peeve is when the pie board is not current, nothing is better than pie and theirs is excellent as are the cookies. Don't be sorry you missed this river side general store that locals refer to as their Cracker B (I can't type that word)...Come in and eat This is by far this place is out of their league sitting on the quaint KY side of the Ohio River near the random river tug boat ferry. You can ride on foot across and back for a buck each way. Go here!!! Eat pie and cookies for the road.

Friendly staff, fast seating and great food! I got the ribeye sandwich and added fries. The steak was tender, toppings were fresh and the fries were crispy. Peanut butter pie was good too! Pulled pork sandwich was HUGE and hamburger was juicy & toppings just added to it!

This is an old school half antique store and half restaurant in middle of Augusta. They have country cooking on their menu ala Cracker Barrell. I tried out the Country Fried Steak, with some mashed potatoes, corn, and a dinner roll. The meat of it was juicy and delicious and their white gravy is on point. Great peppery flavour. The mashed potatoes were also good thanks to the same gravy. The corn was well corn. The dinner roll was on the small side but had great flavour (awesome with honey!) It took a good minute for them to prepare our food and waitress was on the indifferent side but the food did make up for it. A great touristy place to get some comfort food and shop afterwards. Good stuff.

I was driving from Nashville to Cincinnati and picked Frankfort as a place to get out of the car and walk for an hour. Not one to resist a craft store, I decided I could pop in for a minute or two. I perused the store for over an hour and left with $400 worth of merchandise. Completely Kentucky is, in my opinion, the best crafts store in the US. This is not a store where you go to "get a deal." The merchandise is priced so the artists can be decently compensated and the store can keep its lights on. That means not cheap. But coming from the left coast, I thought the prices were very reasonable. When it comes to wood and clay crafts, Kentucky knocks it out of the park. But this store features artists working in every manner of medium. Their commitment to providing a spot to as many Kentucky artists and crafts people as possible is impressive. I love this store. The day after I discovered them I started saving for my next visit. My goal is the have minimum $1000 to spend and to also bring along an empty suitcase so I can get all my loot back home. :)

We arranged a tour of the facility in combination with a river cruise on the Kentucky River. We signed in for our tour early, so we could shop in the distillery gift shop. I spent several hundred dollars in the gift shop buying special bourbons that you can only purchase at the distillery. I even bought Buffalo Trace dog treats. Plan at least an hour for shopping as lines are long. Fred was our tour guide. Fred was knowledgeable, humorous, interesting and passionate about Buffalo Trace. We learned the history of the distillery, saw how barrels are made, transported and stored and saw the bottling process for the Blanton bourbons. We concluded our tour with a tasting of four bourbons and a sample Kentucky Bourbon Ball. Unfortunately, the tasting was a bit rushed for us. The bourbons were good and I would have liked to make additional purchases after the tasting, but we were not able to because of the timeline for the river cruise. Parking is free. The line to check ids is long but moves quickly. There are restrooms available. I'm told dogs and kids are welcome with some restrictions, but I didn't see any. The tour of Buffalo Trace should be on every bourbon drinker or history buff's bucket list. I want to go back.
