Visiting National Parks in Utah and my a/c was blowing cool, but not cold. Went to Napa and picked up some freon. I ended up over charging the system a and the ac started blowing hot. We were traveling from Page AZ back to Kansas City. So we started calling auto repair shops in Albuquerque from the road 3 hours away. We called two highly rated shops and explained our situation. They both told us they couldn't get us in till next week. So we tried The Auto Clinic. Jim answered the phone and I told him our situation. He told me he could get it re-charge and would would squeeze us in when we got there. He also quoted me the price right over the phone. When we arrived Rene gave me time to get my family something to eat before they took the car to do the repair. They got the ac cooling again. They also explained that the system had an obstruction and was in need of a repair. I opted to wait on that repair for the sake of time, but Rene still took me back to the garage and asked her mechanic to show me exactly where the part was that needed replaced. They noticed my engine light on, pulled codes and went over them with me, and wrote them on the invoice so I could arrange for repairs locally. We made it home and ac worked great. These were the sweetest people and had the heart to help us when other shops couldn't.

Had a transmission replaced in a truck. Have had problems with leaks since and they are refusing to fix them. Go somewhere else!

This review is a bit late and I apologize to AAMCO for this…read more In January 2019, I got an oil change at a local car dealership. Two days later, my car sprung a leak that I thought was transmission fluid. The car dealership confirmed this and said that my freeze plugs were leaking. Replacing them was going to take 15 hours of labor and cost me over $3400.00. I gave them permission to fix my car. I had issues with this "repair" over the next year and had to take my car back to them 3 times. Well, exactly a year later, my transmission started slipping. I took my car back to the dealership and they told me that this had nothing to do with the work they did and told me to take my car to a transmission shop. My brother recommended AAMCO. I had my car towed to their business. After they evaluated my car, they asked me to go to their office as they found something that they had to show me to explain as I didn't know much about cars. When I got there, they asked me about the work that had been done to my car by the dealership. I told them what repairs had been done and substantiated these claims with my receipts. It turned out that the dealership had BROKEN OFF the parts of my engine where the dowel pins go. Yes, they broke metal off, THICK METAL! They had done other repairs, at no charge to me, to cover this up. AAMCO would not put my rebuilt transmission back into this damaged engine. I contacted the dealership and of course they denied that they damaged my engine. They went from being nice to being rude so fast. I thought I had to litigate this. I asked AAMCO to call the dealership on my behalf, which they were willing to do. After they contacted the dealership, the dealership sent 2 of their mechanics to photograph the damage. The dealership finally owned up to their subpar work and replaced my engine, free of charge. They also refunded what I had paid for my transmission to be repaired. AAMCO would not allow them to replace the transmission, so the dealership had to tow my car back to AAMCO. AAMCO wanted to double check the engine replacement prior to putting my transmission back in. This could have ended very badly for me and AAMCO was instrumental in the positive outcome of this saga. I am forever grateful for their honesty and support. As a woman, it's hard to find/trust a vehicle repair business and it's awesome to know that there are great, honest auto shops still around. They have earned my trust and they have a lifelong customer in me. Their staff have always been very courteous and accommodating. Thank you to all the staff at AAMCO for going above and beyond for me!

I STILL HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO TAKE MY CAR IN FOR DAMAGE REPAIR SINCE I HAVE NOT HEARD A WORD AND A. CANNOT AFFORD TO PAY FOR A DAMAGE CAUSED BY TAKING MY VEHICLE TO THIS BUSINESS FOR SERVICE AND B. EVERYTIME I TAKE MY CAR IN FOR OTHER SERVICES I SEE MORE DAMAGE OCCURRED FROM THIS Original review posted - I took my car in on October 23, 2025 for an unknown issue - they advised it was the engine mount. I did not question the diagnosis at the time nor the subsequent damage that came to my attention. However, due to the chaotic nature of my life, I did not notice the passenger side of my bumper had become dislodged until my mother pointed it out. As I work from home and keep my car garaged, I have limited opportunity to inspect it regularly, as I typically only run errands one day a week and am home otherwise. After discussing the issue with my son, who works at a body shop, he discovered that several clips on the bumper were broken, which is likely why it had popped out. Upon further inspection, he found that the bumper was completely detached at the bottom, with all clips broken. I took several weeks to address this with them, but I was met with immediate denial of responsibility. Despite having multiple staff members examine the vehicle, I observed one employee moving my car and jumping over a curb, which raises concerns about the handling of my vehicle during service. I was informed that a tumbleweed was removed from the bottom of the car and that there was a scratch on the other side of the bumper, leading to the conclusion that the damage could not have occurred while in their care. This explanation raises several questions for me. If someone had indeed hit my vehicle, I would expect visible damage on the front of the bumper, rather than just the bottom being detached. So what some random person removed my car from the garage and took it on a joy ride and and returned unknown. We are now at the estimate cost of $1,222. to get it fixed; unknowingly of what else could be damaged behind the bumper! ZERO STARS!
