Avocado house is bomb, period, that's the review. Lol. I went with one of my besties for brunch and even though it was crowded, we waited maybe 10 minutes before we were seated after ordering. The servers were extremely intentive and always asking us if we needed more coffee or extra water for it to be so packed and the fact that they were so welcoming and attentive, says a lot about the restaurant. We sat outside and ate on the back patio, which was perfect to enjoy the sunshine. There were tons of beautiful plants and butterflies all around while we were enjoying our food. They also make sure to include fans at each table, so that flies won't get to your food. Our breakfast itself was amazing. Been coming here for years, basically since they opened. Our family has always enjoyed the homely and country style ambiance of the restaurant. Food has always been good, especially their waffles and in-house syrup- my favorite ! And I appreciate the expansion of their menu. Unfortunately over the past couple of years I've noticed a decline in their customer service. I know it's also under new ownership, I'm not sure if that's why but our past few visits have been disappointing due to the costumer service. I won't say all, but several of their employees have been rude and just unprofessional. It's not so much what the employees say, but more so their tone of voice and delivery. They need to work on being more friendly and hospitable to their customers. Also, the last couple of times our orders have been wrong. One time they completely forgot my husband's meal, and another time they added on two extra meals. I get sometimes these things happen but it's how they respond after and their willingness to make it right with the customer that's been aggravating. Maybe the employees should be trained to read back orders to avoid this from happening? After these instances, I now ask the cashier to repeat my order but I haven't experienced a cashier be pro-active in doing that on their own without me asking. I've had experience in the restaurant industry for many years as a server and hostess so I'm well aware of good customer service especially dealing with rushes and hangry costumers. I know this restaurant gets busy, and rightfully so for their good food and history, but it seems in their employee's tone of voice and facial expressions that they are not happy to be there to serve their customers. We dealt with a cashier who couldn't smile and looked so over it and just annoyed taking our order, the food runners sometimes have an attitude. A smile goes a long way !! A lot has changed, and for the better! I went on a busy Tuesday morning when parking was scarce. I'd keep this in mind if I were planning a group brunch gathering, as alternative parking might have to be considered. Nonetheless, it was no surprise that both their indoor and outdoor areas were busy! One has to order inside with the cashier, and the food will be brought out by a server to wherever one sits. Although it was busy, the line to order moved quickly, and the food came out in a reasonable amount of time. I'd suggest looking at the menu before visiting so you don't overwhelm yourself, as they have a variety of breakfast and lunch options. Every time I was in the area, I was either too busy to stop or they had already closed (they close at 2 PM), so I was excited to finally check it out. It did not disappoint! We ordered the Country Breakfast, Tri-Tip Skillet, Cinnamon Roll French Toast, and the TAH Special. Everything was absolutely delicious. The food tasted fresh, homemade, and made with quality ingredients. Their homemade syrup was especially good. My husband liked it so much that he bought some to take home! The service was excellent, and everyone we interacted with was friendly and welcoming. There isn't a lot of indoor seating, but there is plenty of outdoor seating in both the front and back. It's a cute little house turned into a café restaurant you go in you look over the menu and you place your order and you pay first then you find a place to sit there is some seating inside and there is more seating outside. You wait in line and order at the counter before grabbing a table and sitting down. The line is long so you have time to look over the menu and decide what you want to order. My friend and I ordered the breakfast tacos at 1:06pm and got her food in less than 15mins and that's when we asked about my quesadilla and they said it'll be out shortly but we think she didn't put the order in bc she didn't even give me my receipt but I was charged for it. I didn't get my food till 1:38pm; 32 minutes later. She waited for my food to arrive so she could eat, like the queen that she is, so her food was cold. We really enjoyed the orange juice though. Good Syrup, Terrible Service--I Won't Be Back I had about an hour to spare before an 11:00 appointment, so I decided to have breakfast at Avocado House. I was torn between going there and a bagel shop, but I chose Avocado House because I was closer--and because I remembered how good their syrup was. It is thick, sweet, and almost like caramel. Unfortunately, no syrup is good enough to make up for the terrible service I received today. The young lady at the register was welcoming and friendly. Since you pay when you place your order, I included a tip before sitting outside on the patio. I ordered eggs, sausage, and two pancakes. My server eventually brought the eggs and sausage but told me the pancakes were still coming. Five minutes passed, then ten, fifteen, and finally twenty minutes. Meanwhile, I watched her deliver food to tables all over the patio, yet she never returned with my pancakes or checked on me. When the first half of my breakfast arrived, I specifically asked for extra butter and syrup. Another employee--not my original server--finally brought my pancakes. These were two enormous, plate-sized pancakes, but they came with two tiny scoops of butter about the diameter of a quarter and one small container of syrup. That was nowhere near enough for pancakes that size. When my original server finally followed behind the other employee, I reminded her that I had requested extra butter. Her response was, "There were two scoops on there," as though I should have been satisfied with two miniature portions that could barely cover a fraction of one pancake. She never returned to check on me, ask whether I needed anything else, or refill my water. Every time I needed something, I had to get the attention of the other employee, who was apparently not even assigned to my table. That employee ended up providing more assistance than the server who was actually responsible for me. The food was okay, but certainly nothing spectacular. The pancakes tasted like ordinary pancakes; the syrup was the only standout. However, good syrup cannot rescue poor service. When a customer waits twenty minutes for half of a meal, has to repeatedly track down another employee for basic items, and never receives so much as a water refill--especially after already leaving a tip--the entire experience becomes frustrating and unacceptable. I don't know whether the ownership or management has changed, but the level of service was nowhere near what I expected. I went in for a relaxing breakfast and left irritated and disappointed. The country potatoes or ore Ida has browns without the flavor or bellpeppers is what they are. They are dry and super salty. Sausage was cooked perfectly, super greasy. Uhhh how the mighty has fallen. Since the ownership change there are many differences, most of which are bad. I mean there are more menu options but i don't care, i have always gotten the same things, farmers skillet with spelt bread and my wife would get simply eggs and potatos with spelt avocado toast and we would split the pancakes. 1. Prices went up 2. Ni more spelt bread Let's talk about my experience today. Line was long which is fine but it was barely moving. Once we ordered and sat down it took almost an hour to get our food. My farmers skillet was supposed to be scrambled eggs but they served me over easy, they offered to fix it but I said no I had already been waiting an hour. The pancakes looked perfect until we took the top one off and saw the bottom 4 were all burnt. And to top it all off my wife asked for ketchup packets and the waitress said to just use the ketchup on the table. My wife said it had a hair on it. She took the bottle away and came back a few minutes and said this is all she had, she brought back the same bottle with the hair on it. Jesus Christ what happened to this place!!! We both sadly said we need to find a new breakfast spot, had been coming here for years. As we left my wife said the country charm is gone... Also why we were waiting in line a couple was seated outside waiting for their food and they asked the server where their food was it had been an hour, the server said yes it has been a while. We decided to return here for breakfast and we were impressed with the service this time around. Surprisingly it wasn't busy for a Friday morning and we ordered quickly. I wanted to try their Mexican dishes so I opted for the pork chorizo,eggs,beans and potatoes. The beans were delicious and overall I was happy with my dish. My son ordered the cinnamon swirl French toast and he loved it! If you're in the area, I recommend checking this cute restaurant out. We were expecting to wait to sit and eat, so we were surprised when we were told it was a 15 minute wait time, but it took us 30 minutes to order and another 45 minutes after that to get our food. The service was okay, the cashier was very pleasant and the staff in general didn't seem very friendly, but I imagine it was just because they were busy. The food was pretty good! I had the chilaquiles (the sauce was really yummy) and my husband had the tri tip and eggs. Although it was a solid breakfast, it wasn't amazing, and I don't think it was worth the wait. Came here for a team breakfast with my work on a Thursday morning. They have limited parking at the front, but can park next door so there is more than enough parking. It is a cute little place that you can easily drive by and miss. The outdoor patio seating area was nice and refreshing, it gave it a feel as if we were doing a picnic. You have to order at the window and the line was very long! My coworker who placed the order was in the queue for about 30 mins! Our food came out at a reasonable time after placing the order. I was confused with my dish because it was supposed to be an omelette and instead I got what scrambled egg whites with cheese on top that identified as an omelette. The coworker next to me also got an omelette and his was a traditional looking omelette. The flavour of mine was 100% bland with absolutely no salt/pepper or anything. There were some salt/pepper shakers on the table. The fruit was fresh. The best part was the lemonade! The lemonade was fresh and perfect for me! The outdoor seating area is surrounded by greenery and feels like you're hanging out in someone's backyard. It's always bustling, especially on weekends, so expect a line: but the energy is friendly, not stressful. You order at the front (the line is your clue), then find your own table. They give you a little resin character (mine was Sully from Monsters Inc!) so the servers can bring your food right to you. The staff is always welcoming and helpful, even when it's packed. They move things along quickly without making you feel rushed. Once you've ordered and sat down, food comes out fast and hot. Now for the food: the cinnamon French toast is my absolute favorite. It's thick, fluffy, and comes with in their house-made caramel maple syrup on the side that tastes like dessert in the best way possible. I always ask for more because I run out of this magical syrup. The avocado toast is a must, especially if you get it with smoked salmon and eggs. On my latest visit, I branched out and tried the quesadilla with tri-tip, guac, salsa, and jalapeños.. We also split "The Craving," a sourdough sandwich with grilled onions, peppers, and cheese. Super tasty but a little messy: 8/10. Prices are reasonable, portions are solid, and the whole place feels like a love letter to brunch. Parking can be a little tricky, but your best bet is the lot to the left near the optometry office. We waited in line and ordered which took around 25 minutes (the line was wrapped around the building).
