We've driven by this place lots of times and finally decided to go in and stop for breakfast. It's a cute little house turned into a café restaurant you go in you look over the menu and you place your order and you pay first then you find a place to sit there is some seating inside and there is more seating outside. It's a wraparound porch. Customer service was OK pretty rushed. It was our first time so took a min to look over the menu was asked 4 times if we were ready We received our food in about 15-20 minutes. Everything was good ,flavorful big portions Personally this would be a one time place to go eat. Loved the 100year old avocado tree on the property

Charming and busy breakfast spot. The Gluten free items I saw and ordered were the buckwheat pancakes and avocado toast (with gluten free bread for $2 more)can be substituted for gluten free bread. You wait in line and order at the counter before grabbing a table and sitting down. The line is long so you have time to look over the menu and decide what you want to order. Friendly and welcoming staff. Food was good and would definitely come back if we were in the area.

Love this gem in Chino. New owners are stepping it up with new fusion menu items and putting some nice touches to this cute place. Plenty of seating for indoors and outdoors. Service is great and food is delish!

Love! Love! Love! I cannot believe it took me so long to try The Avocado House, but I am sure glad I did. Everything we have had from here is delicious! Here's what's we've had: Country breakfast 10/10 Bulgogi breakfast 10/10 Cinnamon roll French toast 20/10 Simply potatoes & eggs 10/10 Steak & eggs 10/10 Kids pancake 10/10 Their in-house syrup is divine! If you been on the fence about giving The Avocado House a try, I HIGHLY recommend. It can get busy, but the line moves fast & there is plenty of seating out back.

Great ambiance and "fun" breakfast place. Gives the vibes that you are on vacation and splurging a little. Cuz you are, prices are on the higher end but the quality is on par. I can't even imagine the property value of the old farm house and lot in the middle of suburbia. Closed Sundays and I'm sure beyond busy on Saturday so plan ahead.

    Absolutely atrocious.

Uhhh how the mighty has fallen. Since the ownership change there are many differences, most of which are bad. I mean there are more menu options but i don't care, i have always gotten the same things, farmers skillet with spelt bread and my wife would get simply eggs and potatos with spelt avocado toast and we would split the pancakes. 1. Prices went up 2. Ni more spelt bread Let's talk about my experience today. Line was long which is fine but it was barely moving. Once we ordered and sat down it took almost an hour to get our food. My farmers skillet was supposed to be scrambled eggs but they served me over easy, they offered to fix it but I said no I had already been waiting an hour. The pancakes looked perfect until we took the top one off and saw the bottom 4 were all burnt. And to top it all off my wife asked for ketchup packets and the waitress said to just use the ketchup on the table. My wife said it had a hair on it. She took the bottle away and came back a few minutes and said this is all she had, she brought back the same bottle with the hair on it. Jesus Christ what happened to this place!!! We both sadly said we need to find a new breakfast spot, had been coming here for years. As we left my wife said the country charm is gone... Also why we were waiting in line a couple was seated outside waiting for their food and they asked the server where their food was it had been an hour, the server said yes it has been a while. They asked to speak to the manager. The server came back and said he can't come see them but they can get a free meal next time and took their name and number down. Hahahaha the manager didn't even wanna come to them. I miss the old lady and the old staff.

What a gem! Living here 10 years now and just recently found this. They need to market this home turned into a restaurant. Great staff, quick efficient service more importantly the price is right!

The bacon in the breakfast sandwich was cooked to perfection, and the bread was delicious.

My best friend and I recently visited The Avocado House for breakfast, and it was such a great find. We originally planned to grab coffee, but we stumbled upon this spot and decided to stay and eat. I am so glad we did. We ordered the French toast and a breakfast sandwich, along with tea for both of us. The French toast was perfectly fluffy with great texture, and everything tasted fresh and well prepared. The tea service stood out to me. They thoughtfully came around to refill our cups with more hot water, which is a small detail that makes a big difference. The atmosphere is charming and farmhouse inspired, with beautiful views and plenty of natural light. It was a cold morning, but the outdoor heating lamps kept the patio comfortable. There are also plenty of cute photo opportunities if you enjoy aesthetic spots. Parking is easy and free, with spaces on site and additional parking next door. It is family friendly, relaxed, and ideal if you are looking to avoid the hustle and bustle of a busy restaurant. One thing to note is that you order and pay before being seated. Overall, it was a delicious and enjoyable experience. I will definitely be back.

We decided to return here for breakfast and we were impressed with the service this time around. Surprisingly it wasn't busy for a Friday morning and we ordered quickly. I wanted to try their Mexican dishes so I opted for the pork chorizo, eggs, beans and potatoes. The beans were delicious and overall I was happy with my dish. My son ordered the cinnamon swirl French toast and he loved it! If you're in the area, I recommend checking this cute restaurant out. All of their dishes are cooked with avocado oil and they even sell the oil.

This restaurant is the cutest little café. If you drive too fast, you will miss it! Their parking area is extremely small, but they do have overflow parking. They have inside and outdoor seating. The inside is rather small and it's first come, first serve. The line was extremely long, so be prepared to wait. Completely affordable restaurant. The best breakfast I've had in a long time. Their waffles were to die for, and I cannot wait to have them again. One waffle, you can definitely share, it's huge! All of the staff were extremely kind, and everyone had a smile on their face. I will be back!

Ask the Community - The Avocado House

What's the best time to go?

In my opinion, Saturday for brunch is the best time... between 10am - 1pm. There will probably be a line, but it goes quickly.

Do I call to make a reservation for two? Or is it first come first serve?

No reservations, it's a first come first serve basis.

Good morning, Are Dog's allowed in the outside eating areas?

Yes, dogs are allowed in the outside eating area but not the inside.

Do they have gluten free toast or waffles etc?

Yes they have buckwheat gluten free pancakes or waffles and they usually do have gluten free toast unless they're temporarily out.

Is the produce organic & is the meat ethically sourced (ie. Grass fed, pasture raised, etc.)?

I just Call to place A Order got no Answer?

They are closed on Sundays. And Monday through Friday they are open 7-2 and on Saturday they're open 7-3. Maybe you called outside of those times?

    Are they open on thanksgiving?

No , as family is very important to the owners .

When ARE you open? I feel like I check all the time and it always says closed! The hours aren't posted on Yelp either 😞

They are open from 7am-3pm closed on holidays.

    Do they take reservations?

No, a giant line wrapped always around the building. Parking is a mess also.

    Do you have any heaters?

    yes they do

    Can we pay with card?

Yes, I believe they also have Apple Pay

    Are they doing dine in?

Yes they are. We ate on the patio and more people over the place.. Very enjoyable experience

Anyone know if this place is currently open for dine in?

The avocado house is open for dine in and take our. It is open from 7:00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m.

I just wanted to confirm you guys will be open today monday from 7am to 2pm correct? Thank you. I got sidetracked from it stating at the top closed today :)

They are closed on Sundays and Mondays.

What are some vegan options here? I'm going to eat here with my family (who aren't vegan) and I looked at the menu and I assume the country potatoes are vegan but not sure exactly. Also what kind of bread for avocado toast? Any vegan?

Almost all the bread is vegan except for the jalapeño & spelt toast. Potatoes are 100% vegan as well.

Did they go out of business? Online ordering doesn't work anymore and the phone number isn't working

Hi Michelle, my name is Renee. I'm from the Catering side of the restaurant. No,we are not under new ownership. We were closed for one week when we had a family wedding out of state. I'm sorry you didn't get through when you tried. I do hope you…

When is the best time to go for a minimal wait? On a Saturday for breakfast?

No later than 8am on the weekends.

Is the house made spelt bread sold individually?

    Yes.

Do you have mimosas on Saturday's?

    No

    Do they have kids menu?

Yes they do have a kids menu.

The bun had a great texture, the burger was grilled perfectly, and the crispy onions added a delicious crunch that really elevated the whole sandwich. I paired it with The Stand Blonde Ale and wasn't disappointed! The beer complemented the burger very well. Part of me wished the burger came with a side, but considering the burger alone was over 1,000 calories, I was probably better off without the temptation! For the kids, we ordered the mac and cheese and a hot dog, and both were well received. I also appreciated that they offer a good variety of kid-friendly sides, which gives families plenty of options. We also shared a cookies and cream milkshake, which was rich, creamy, and very tasty. The only downside to our visit was a small service issue. I had to help my kids in the restroom and couldn't leave the table unattended. By the time I returned, my daughter's leftover mac and cheese, which she wanted to save, and our lemonade had been cleared away. It wasn't a huge deal, but it was disappointing since we weren't quite finished with them. My daughter wants to come back because this was apparently the best mac and cheese ever. Service was okay, although the cashier seemed to be going through the motions and wasn't particularly engaging. The restaurant appeared clean at first glance, but I did notice a few food safety practices that I think are worth bringing to management's attention. While handling ready-to-eat (RTE) food, employees should change their gloves and wash their hands whenever they leave the food preparation area or touch items that could contaminate their gloves. During my visit, I observed one of the cooks, an older gentleman, step away from the line and use the drink dispenser located in the dining area. Afterward, he returned directly to food preparation while still wearing the same black vinyl gloves. I did not observe him remove his gloves or wash his hands before resuming work. I've included a photo showing the location of the drink dispenser for reference. Later, I noticed a chef from the restaurant across the street stop by and hand food to the same cook. Rather than seeing the food taken to a designated employee area, it appeared to be placed near the cook line. If observed correctly, this could increase the risk of cross-contamination if proper food handling procedures were not followed. On a positive note, I did observe the front-of-house staff washing their hands appropriately as they transitioned between different tasks, which was good to see. Overall, this isn't a bad place to eat, and I enjoyed the food. I simply hope management takes a closer look at these food handling practices, as following proper glove-changing, handwashing, and cross-contamination prevention procedures helps protect both employees and guests.

Staff is always nice and knowledgeable. We normally bring our wine and just have it corked there, but last time we were here, we enjoyed their selection as well. We actually came on my birthday in April (sorry the review is so late), but the staff all signed a birthday card for me and left confetti on the table. Nice touch. The food. We had the lava shrimp to start and of course the freshly baked loaf. I can't say anything bad. It's all fresh and the flavors are amazing. I got the venison chops cooked rare. Wow. First time I've had venison like this, and man. The presentation was cool. Waiter brought it out covered in glass and opened up the container in front of me so I could see the smoke leave the plate. As a visual person, it did hamper the ambiance for me, especially since I was sitting right next to it. We were the only table that wasn't a couple, and even when it got more crowded, the noise level was pleasantly low. Our server asked us how we felt about salt, which was very much appreciated. AMARETTO SOUR: 3/5. Very sweet, and orange-forward which is a new flavor profile for this cocktail for me. BREAD & WHIPPED BUTTER: 5/5. Served warm. The bread was pillowy soft, and the butter, (which was more air than butter and therefore definitely zero calories), was delightfully salty. BRUSSELS SPROUTS: 5/5. I've been burned by so many poorly done sprouts that I don't order them anymore, but my partner wanted to try it and I'm so glad we got them. Zero bitterness, and crispier than an newly minted dollar bill. OCTOPUS: 5/5. Grilled to perfection, soft, not rubbery. The spices in the romesco sauce were aromatic and punchy. STEAK TARTARE: 4/5. Good. These crostinis were the most crostinis to have ever crostinied. The perfect vessel for the rich steak. MUSHROOM SOUP: 5/5. This is the first time I've found balance between being truffle-forward without being overbearing. Usually I'm done after about two spoonfuls, but all 3 bowls (shared between 6 of us) were cleaned. SURF & TURF: 5/5. Owen's checks internal and external temperature, which means steak is cooked true to the way it's ordered. More impressive is that they didn't overcook the lobster. A moment for the gorgeous blue plates; they are heirlooms, and only 7 of them exist in the world. CHILEAN SEA BASS: 4/5. For me, the radish did a lot of heavy lifting in balancing out the saltiness of the soy vinaigrette and richness of the fish itself. STEAK FRITES: 4/5. Again, perfectly cooked steak. I only had one fry, and I thought it was a damn good fry, but my partner did say it eventually got salty. And he loves his salt. CAMPING TRIP: 5/5. The crust on the salmon, the theatrics of the hot rock, the fresh veggies. It's a classic for a reason. MAITAKE MUSHROOM: 4/5. While it was good, I didn't find myself continuously reaching for more, as I nearly always do with mushrooms. ROBUCHON POTATOES: 5/5. AKA indulgent, buttery velvet. A labor of love well received. STRAWBERRY TART: 5/5. While the strawberries were phenomenal, the vanilla (?) custard was a little heavy for me. My mom inhaled it though. CRÈME BRÛLÉE: 5/5. So good. I don't know when it became normalized to serve crème with an Ozempic-thin layer of brûlée, but thank you Owen's for not doing that.

The mashed potatoes were light and fluffy, full of garlicky flavor; not heavy, and were the perfect side, even on a warm day. Both of us were raving about how happy we were that we found this place and how amazing our food was! As a side note, the couple sitting next to us ordered so much food...catfish, fish & chips, ribs & slaw...and every dish they brought out looked sublime! (I couldn't help but notice, we were seated very close...lol!) Anyway, don't waste your time anywhere else, just go here! The vibe was fun, especially while the game was on, and there were multiple parties celebrating birthdays, and they seemed to have plenty of staff to provide excellent service! Well done, Gus's! We'll be back, and hopefully soon!

The bottomless mimosas ($29.99) sound like a great deal, but just know how they run it. There's a 90-minute minimum, and they don't bring a bottle to the table--you get one mimosa at a time, and you have to finish it before they'll bring another. The first one I got tasted like straight orange juice barely any champagne. I sent it back and to their credit, they remade it much better They mentioned they control pours to keep the environment in check, which I understand--but if you're expecting free-pour vibes, that's not the case here. Food-wise: French toast & breakfast potatoes were really good However the Chilaquiles were super dry and lacked flavor--wouldn't recommend Burger & fries were decent, but nothing special As for drink pricing, it does lean a bit on the higher side. bucket of 5 beers was around $42, $15 for a Tito's vodka shot, and even a basic Jack and Coke came out to about $18 with tip, which felt a little steep for the area. the best deal was definitely the green tea shots at only $9 I will say, our waitress Priscilla was great. She had a lot of tables and seemed a bit overwhelmed, but she still made an effort to check on us and kept my mimosas coming pretty promptly. I didn't have to wait long at all between refills, which I appreciated. Since we went for a special event, the DJs were great and really kept the energy up the whole time Parking was easy. It did say there was a $2 fee, but when we printed the ticket, we weren't charged--so it might be free, but I'd still double-check at the kiosk just in case. Overall: decent spot for the vibe, music, and brunch outing, but just be prepared for controlled drinks and slightly higher prices.

I've come to check out the dodger game and struck great conversations with locals. Mia has suggested the brisket burrito and the $5 world cup michelada. Hit the spot! The rest of the staff, still learning names here, have been aces. This says a lot about the leadership here and their standards. I look forward to catching more dodger games in the near future. Specially, when I feel welcome.

First the restaurant is extremely clean and welcoming. The interior is really nice. The bar and patio are beautiful. The whole place felt welcoming. The staff provided amazing service. Our waiter was Dillon or Dylan. Sorry if I spelled it incorrectly. He was great and gave us some great recommendations. Even when the shift changes were happening the bar tender came by and said bye as well and wished us a great day. It was a small but nice touch and great customer service. Now what we're all really here for the food and drinks. Drink wise we tried the blood orange paloma, a margarita, and some beers which were all delicious and cold. For the food we started with the brisket fries which were savory and delicious. The fries were thin and crispy which is just the way I like them. We also got the All Da Smoke platter which had chicken, brisket, pulled pork, and pork ribs. It came with 3 sides so we got the corn bread with honey butter, corn, and mac and cheese. Everything was perfectly seasoned and tender. We enjoyed every bite we had. Also one of the best Mac N Cheese I have had in a while to be honest. Overall the food, drinks, staff, and ambiance were a perfect 10 out of 10 for me. I can't wait to come back and eat here again. Thank you Dylan and Mule Car Smokehouse for the delicious food and hospitality.
