Food today made me sick and the young girls working there were rude or clueless. The cashier didn't know the menu items. They advertise as having vegan food but she didn't know which ones were vegan. I got the avocado toast and the avocado spread looked a little brown. It was really overpriced too. The avocado toast was small and with the drink the total amount for my order was $20. While I was eating it, it tasted a little off. 30 min after eating it, I started getting stomach pains and later threw up in the restroom and continued to have the runs and threw up two more times after we left. When I told the cashier I think I ate something spoiled cus I threw up, she seemed really unbothered and I had to ask for a refund. Her coworker, instead of providing a refund, a young rude girl with stickers on her face, proceeded to give me attitude and blame it on my diet (?) because I ordered THEIR vegan avocado toast. She seemed suspicious of me saying their food made me sick. She also said she'd been working here for 4 years and never had issues with their avocado. Like I'm just telling her what happened.. but she felt the need to get defensive and blame it on me. Such rudeness and unprofessionalism instead of acknowledging that something may have gone wrong with the food, provide a remedy or offer an apology. The food didn't even taste that good and my friend wasn't impressed with his food either. Do these young people not understand the meaning of customer service? If not, don't work in customer service. Just like the review a few weeks ago, this review was based on customer service. I never got the chance to try the food. I rushed from work from a couple cities away to try this place. They closed at 5pm. I arrived at 4:50pm. There were no customers and 2 young girl employees. As soon as I walked in, one put away her phone and moseyed her way to the kitchen. I asked the other employee who waited at the cash register if I can order a Philly cheesesteak. That employee asked the employee in the kitchen. She returned shortly after and said the grill is closed but I can buy the food that's on display. I declined and left the cafe. Who knows how long that food has been on display. From an employee's perspective, I understand seeing these last minute customers come in. I get it. From a customer's perspective, it really sucks. The cafe closes at 5pm and not 4:50pm. I'll never be back nor refer anyone. Especially seeing the customer service reviews from other people. read more

We haven't even tried the coffee yet, so this review is purely based on customer service, which, to me, is the most important part of what makes people want to come back. I'm not sure if the girl taking our order was just having a bad day, but unfortunately my wife and I did not feel comfortable at all. It honestly felt like we were bothering her, to the point where I didn't even want to ask questions about the menu or what else they offered. Sadly, this was our first and last time coming here. I can't believe I did not find out about this hidden gem earlier, my first time here and let me say it did not disappoint! Once I walked in I was greeted and welcomed automatically, the vibe and energy from the cashier was on point, she was so sweet and helpful , even the owner came out to talk to me to ask if everything was okay?! She was so lovely , she explained how the sourdough bread and panini bread is made in house from scratch Now that is just the service, let's get in on the food and drink , talk about wow! I order avocado Salomon toast with a sunny side up egg with a caramel macchiato iced coffee, I literally felt like I hit the jackpot, everything was on point I will for sure be returning and telling my friends and family about this place. This fast-casual eatery is located in Chino Town Square (a mostly-vacant plaza at the time of this writing). The interior is small but relaxed and inviting. The owner is filled with vibrant, positive energy, dashing about, visiting each table and, in our case, giving us complimentary brownies which was a nice, welcoming gesture. Customers order at the counter and your food is brought to your table. I ordered a chicken pesto panini and an iced latte. He asked if I liked it sweet (affirmative) so he said he'd add some sugar. I also grabbed a bag of baked-in-house, mini chocolate chip cookies, which were in a basket on the counter. I figured they'd go good with our coffees (spoiler alert: they did). The panini was excellent, far better than any sandwich you'd get at any of the corporate sandwich shops. It had plenty of chicken chunks, pesto, mayo, and mozzarella. It came with a side of plain potato chips which were fine. The iced latte was fantastic, a nice blend of the slight bitterness of the coffee and added sweetness beneath the foamed top. The food was simple and the flavors satisfying. 4.5! There was something about this place - a positive vibe - that pushed it over the top for me. read more

This cafe was a little hole in the wall that I didn't see in the area near the target plaza. I think the owner was there and they were really sweet and attentive! As for food, I tried the cucumber lime juice and chicken pesto panini. The cucumber limeade juice was so refreshing as it was a warm day! I would definitely order it again. As for the chicken pesto panini, it was good but could be slightly better with more pesto as I do prefer that! It comes with salad and dressing too. The owner was nice enough to give their pumpkin brownie as a free dessert treat! Definitely soft and not too sweet. I would come here again to try the other cafe drinks and food. read more

The place is ran by an older Asian man, very nice person and his wife. Both very welcoming and very attentive to your request. We decided to give the Flindersteet a try before work, I ordered the breakfast Paninni and wife ordered the pesto sandwich. Everything is made in house, the bread was super soft and grilled just perfectly. The pesto sauce was very flavorful and the portions were good. We asked for hot sauce and they provided a home made habanero sauce that had the perfect spice and sweetness. The price is on the higher end, but you can taste the quality of the food. The gentlemen brought us a pastry that was freshly out of the oven, it was delicious! On the house! The setting is nice quiet and very home like. Overall I would recommend it, and I will be back to try their Salmon Bagle! read more

If you've never been to Pompeii, like I haven't, Flinderstreet might just be the 3rd closest thing to what passes as a relic (est. 2014), standing alone amongst rows of empty spaces that used to hold life. The owner, one would assume, little guy with the best energy and attitude with running shoes I wish I had, can spot a new comer like gypsies in the night. Vege panini was perfect as is, anything else would be too much and anything less would be a crime. I wish I had gotten the chips instead of salad since.. I eat salad regularly at home but couldn't resist when given the option. Dumb choice, always go with grease not green. But the little packs of cookies were perfect with their coffee, freshly made, no drip on tap but espressos and lattes seem to be done right. Their pastries are all baked in store along with homemade bagels and FAT burritos. I love that it was on display as one of the items outside their window. Please do come and support the lost art, if you're in the area, I'd highly recommend it for a small town cafe, you'd think you're driving through Fresno and found a golden gem! read more

All grinders, paninis, and burritos come with a side of chips, salad, or can be upgraded to a pasta salad or soup (extra $2.99 for small size). *** Chicken Pesto $13.99 + upgraded to a small soup (clam chowder - extra $2.99): The staff recommended clam chowder when I asked about their sides so I just went with it. Solid panini with good overall flavor profile. Clam chowder had mostly potato, but it tasted quite good. New Zealand Meat Pie (chicken curry flavor - $10.99): Took awhile to come out. I frequently pass by this cafe every time I workout @ planet fitness & always wanted to try it out... Today was the day I decided to mosey on over & happy I finally did! The atmosphere was very chill & cutesy! I absolutely loved all the decor & vibes altogether. The service here was amazing--very courteous & welcoming! When I ordered my items to-go, it was brought out to me, which was such a nice gesture ^~^ Now the Turkey Pesto Panini was delicious; it was fresh off the press & had a nice cheese pull! :D I tried the Hibiscus Red Drink and it was super refreshing! Came in with my girlfriend on a rainy Sunday afternoon. The place is nice, clean, and welcoming with several roomy places to sit. The two ladies working this day kindly answered my questions. I ordered their hibiscus drink and turkey and chicken pesto sandwiches. It was all for a little over 30 dollars. They ladies were also to give us a complementary brownie, which was very kind of them. The turkey was good, no complaints. The Chicken was good, and so was drink was nice and not too sweet. No complaints. The turkey, however, had an unusually hard piece to bite on. It wasn't tendon or anything like that. Just hard. So almost half of that sandwich was discarded due to it. I think this is an aberration since I had a good experience before, but the quality of their chicken may deserve better inspection to avoid the issue I ran into this last time. read more

I'm never really in the Chino area, but was there for a weekend class. Not much to eat in the area but have always seen Flinderstreet Cafe pop up on Yelp and looked to be a popular spot. The plaza itself located in is very dead. Lots of places that are empty and open for lease. Made it hard to find this place. Food, ordered the Turkey Pesto with side salad and it was just ok. It was good but nothing mind blowing or something I'd want to go back for. Prices are very reasonable and nice that they offer a cup of water that you can grab yourself. Service was nice there. Overall, just an ok place that I'm glad I tried at least once but if I'm in the Chino area I may go elsewhere. read more

I've visited twice so far. Service has been friendly and pretty fast. The cafe was clean and plenty of seating available. I ordered the turkey pesto panini (11.99) and the passionfruit Arnold Palmer (regular 4.49). The bread was fresh, crispy and warm and the overall taste of the panini was nice. I cannot believe places like these still exist. The service is top notch and I've used them for several small gatherings when I'm in a pinch. Their food is delicious and isn't just basic sandwiches. This place never disappoints! Today i found that they have fresh baked sourdough bread! So soft, with amazing crust! We had it with garlic butter! Definitely my go-to order. The caramel macchiato was so good, but to those who go to starbucks a ton, this would be considered "strong". The chocolate chip cookies were very light and the (free) brownie had a minty taste to it. The owners were there today and they were very happy to see customer dine in, since he said most people usually door-dash or pickup food.
