Hear ye fabric lovers! I've found heaven on earth…read more My mom recently discovered a post by this company on instagram and discovered that it has recently opened to the public. So of course, we had to go check it out. This is literally a labyrinth of every fabric and sewing accessory imaginable. With floor to ceiling shelves, you could spend an entire day in here. The staff were also lovely, and very helpful. Might I add that the prices are WICKED. My only criticism was that there was a very limited selection of quilting cotton. This is the majority of the fabric I purchase, so I was a bit sad that there was only one small section to choose from. However, if you are into a variety of sewing projects this is the place for you!!

The first time we…read morewent, one of the employees acted very bothered every time we asked for help, whether it was finding items, asking for lengths of fabric, or changing our minds about the items we were still considering. We decided to ignore it, and went again about a month later. We were looking for materials to make monster hunter leather armor. We had found the perfect leather, and were told to put it aside until we were finished shopping by another employee. It was left on a side table at the back, after being explicitly told that we had access to it. We came back after half an hour of shopping, and the same employee who set it aside was selling it to another person. When confronted, both employees doubled down and told us that we were wrong, and that they were going to sell it to another customer. We repeated what they had told us originally, but they kept insisting that we had not communicated at all. The other customer also became upset and left without buying any leather due to their behaviour. One of them proceeded to tell me "Ninety Six dollars" per square meter, when they had said eight dollars to the other customer. When we went to pay, we explained to the employee our concerns, and why we ended up not buying anything. He again became very argumentative, calling us liars, and then simply refusing to engage in any conversation, however helpful or constructive it may have been. Overall, I would never recommend this store, which is unfortunate due to their wide variety of fabrics.

They also have the basics like thread, sewing machine needles, etc. If you're a walk-in customer they have a small showroom where you can do cash and carry. I was making a doggy fence for my parent's condo patio. I figured this was the best place to get the supplies I needed. They have rolls of woven mesh that's used to make laundry bags (generally). This was perfect to cut into a few strips and join to create a fence. I also picked up some strapping, similar to what you see on back-packs to add some structure to the fence. All-in-all it worked out great. No more escapee dog.

They have several items/categories of products to go into, go to their website. To improve this business I would HIGHLY recommend it update its website. If it could mimic LeeVally's in a small way that'd be a huge plus. Being able to SEE all their products on screen would certainly increase my purchases...can't buy what I don't know you sell. The staff here are WONDERFUL, all of them. Friendly & knowledge.

We had an estimate done…read moreby a personable young man named Blake, and a couple weeks later they arranged for an installer to come to our home and complete the work. FF to today and we decided to have our deck closed in and turned into a three season room. We again contacted Desert Sun, and they sent out Blake to give us an estimate to enclose our deck. The estimate came in just shy of nine thousand dollars. That means the entire cost of the three season room was close to $16,000. They also wanted a 50% deposit upon ordering, with the balance due when the parts were picked up. Blake said they expected the parts for the room to be in around 1.5 to 2.5 weeks. This is where things, IMO went downhill It took 5 weeks to get the parts. I kept calling every week after waiting almost 20 days, and they had an excuse every time I called. I called on Monday, then they said it should be in Wednesday. I called back Wednesday, then they said it should be Friday. This went on for another two weeks. Finally the parts arrived and when I tried to pay the balance (with MasterCard) the owner said I couldn't because of the fees he would have to pay. (not my problem). I assumed since I put the deposit on with credit, I could pay the balance with credit. We wanted to do this to collect AirMiles on the purchase. The owner of Desert Sun, Bob was not the easiest to deal with when it came to this issue. What he came up with in the end was that I pay $75 dollars (50% of what the credit card company would charge him). The end result was I paid the balance by cheque which he allowed me to post date by one week. Fast forward to the next week, and we had our original installer (Mike) who built our patio cover build our sun room. I can't say enough good things about Mike. He's very good at what he does and is very particular. What happened near the end of the install is what gets interesting. The sun room kit that was ordered was short a window. Plus we added another one. When Mike the installer called Bob the owner he was placed on SPEAKER so I could hear his thoughts on windows. Mike said he was on speaker, but Bob never caught it. Mike began to tell Bob about the windows and started to say that I didn't want to pay much for them. That's when Bob called me "A CHEAP SON OF A BITCH". I fail to see how I'm a cheap S.O.B. especially since I just gave him close to 9 thousand dollars. I got on the phone after him calling me that, the conversation started by me saying "Hello Bob, it's Ed the cheap son of a bitch" he apologized and Mike and I had a serious conversation about Bob. Is it me, or should you not be calling your customers names ?????? In the end the sun room looks great (Thanks to Mike). As for me recommending Desert Sun Patios, maybe a couple of months ago. If you need an installer though, I can get you in touch with Mike. Oh yeah still waiting on my two windows. They said 5 days, and it's now 7.
