THIS REVIEW IS FOR MY CUSTOM STROLLER PADDING for MY Citi Mini! and for the 3 hour bag. I have ordered padding for my stroller, I have the Single Citi Mini. It's 2011, orange. It took about 1 month to get it. After 3 weeks, it wasn't there, but I got some re-entry tickets to come back the following week. My stroller padding is about 1yr old now. It's done a lot of international travel. It's been to the Philippines, Japan, and Korea. it's great because if it gets soiled, dirty, etc etc, I JUST THROW IT IN THE WASHER. I've washed it about 8x and it still looks brand spanking new. It really holds together well. The quality and the comfort is great for my little guy. (I got the monkey design) I also bought a matching 3 hour bag. It's wonderful! it hooks up my stroller handle, it's provided me more storage in my minimum storage under my Citi Mini. I love my stroller cover so much, I bought my friend one too. I got her a cupcake cover with a matching cupcake 3hr bag. I also bought another 3hr bag in camo. I cant even begin to explain how disappointed i am in the TERRIBLE customer service the baby guy and his staff provide. I ordered a high chair cover on May 4th, called about a half a dozen times and either left a message or spoke to someone and each time i was given the runaround. Its one story after the other. first, they claimed they sent it out, then two weeks later i call back and she promises to send it out that day. it keeps going on and on. I can't beleive all of the negative reviews. I have been ordering from Gerry for 3 years now and never had an issues. He is a small business and does it all. He offers a great product at a fair price. The fact that people say he was rude, you must have been rude or pushy to him, because he has never been anything but polite! Being that many of his items are custom made, it does take time, but call his office, they always respond within 1 business day. I can't beleive these reviewers that waited 3 months to a year for their product. I'm sorry, but you are either exaggerating the time frame or all I have to say is shame on you for paying for something and not following up sooner. I have purchased a ton of stuff from The Baby Guy! I absolutely love everything we have bibs, burp clothes, 3 hour bag ( which is the best bag ever), highchair cover and grocery cart cover. We always have great service when we visit them at the OC Marketplace. Just recently we noticed that we lost the bag that our highchair cover came in. I went to see if could order another one, and instead of charging me for it They shipped a new on to me at no cost!! AWESOME Customer Service! I have to say that when I first heard about the baby guy I was totally stoked and when I went to place my order I was pleased with the customer service. It wasn't the best I've received but it was decent considering the volume this little place was seeing that day. Since then it has been a nightmare, no callbacks, no emails are returned and yes as the comment says I do now where to find him and I have been there only to be told that they'll have it "next week", well guess what next week has yet to come!! I placed my first order on 08/21/2011 and was told it would be ready in 4-6 weeks, then I placed another order on 09/25/2011 and I was told this would be ready along with my previous order ... LIES! It is now 23 weeks later and I still have no product, I am out the $100 I spent on fabric, $100 on my antique bassinet which they have and $30 dollars for a deposit I left them and what do I have to show for it? A stream of emails and voicemails which have gone unreturned. I am severely disappointed and will not be recommending them, next time I will spend a little more and order from an ETSY account. NO COMPLAINTS HERE!!! I have ordered custom bedding sets for both of my girls and they have both been completed on time. I have NEVER had a problem with returned calls or emails. I ordered a car seat cover last June and was quoted 4 weeks, I got the call within 2 that it was ready. They are VERY busy but I have NEVER not had a call to tell me my order was ready. If you don't want to waste your precious gas driving to the swap meet then you can drive to his shop or have it shipped...or better yet order from a HUGE retailer with no fabric options, no creativity and have it sent directly to your door! I see there are a lot of negative reviews on here for The Baby Guy and his staff. I can honestly say I have not come across any of these issues. I went to the swap meet to check out his stuff as a friend of mine referred me to him and I wanted to see what he could do for me. Based on the ideas I had in my head for the colors and patterns I liked, he helped me put together a set that I absolutely love. My sister in laws went with me to check it out the first time. I brought daddy with me the second time just to show him in person what we would be getting. He loved it all so much, he added a couple more items. After a couple weeks, my sister in law and I decided to go back to the swap meet and just check how the process works and how long it takes to get the items back. The staff and Gerry explained that as soon as they get the materials in that they need he gets to work. Less than a week later I got a phone call saying my items were ready, and I could come pick them up or have them shipped. I live close to the swap meet so I decided to go pick them up. My boyfriend and sister in laws went with me. We all loved it so much, we actually ordered a couple more items, and plan to go back and order a couple more with a different pattern. I think the customer service was absolutely great. I loved that the staff remembered my family and I. I felt like Gerry and his staff really built a rappot with us. Obviously they aren't a traditional stuffy type of staff. They are laid back, and speak their mind, but maybe that's why I like them. They are human just like the rest of us. I saw a post stating that Gerry walked away in the middle of a conversation. He has doen that to me as well, but he always comes back to finish the conversation. He has a lot of people coming and going, I feel he is doing his best to please everyone. I will continue to buy items form him and continue to refer my friends. I ordered a car seat cover, changing pad & shopping cart cover, this came on time and tricked me into thinking all future orders would. But when we picked it up, I had my mom from out of town with me and I was still pregnant. My mom then ordered a queen sized blanket for herself and I got pillows for my baby's room. We paid nearly $200.... AFTER I had already paid for & picked up my first order that was nearly $200. The girl taking the order was also very rude. I couldn't believe that, especially after I was now a repeat customer. Then 3 months & several phone messages later, the stuff was still not ready. They said that since I had waited so long that they would pay to mail the items separately to my mom & myself..... Nearly 3 more months later, I've still not received them! Almost 6 months!!!!!!! What a shame, they do make nice things but I will continue to order from kustomkidsbedding.com now instead. They did my baby's crib set & it was great! DONT ORDER FROM THE BABY GUY! 15, 12 and 10 year old still sleep with the bedding sets I bought from this company at the OC swap market when they were toddlers. The fabrics held their color, the sets never had a seam loosen or zipper break- after all these years all 3 bedding sets look as good as they did when I bought them. Not worth your time. I ordered a shopping cart cover in oct 2011. When I didn't hear anything by January I called. They told me it was my fault and they had been schlepping my item back and forth to the swap meet for months. Since I am not telepathic and gas prices are crazy I feel I am justified in Not having to drive to the swap every weekend from south OC just to 'see' if it was ready. After all that's why you asked for my email and phone # right?! So then they say come that weekend and pick it up. 2 days later they call and say just kidding, they don't have it. They sold it. ... so no they would not refund my $38 but would remake it. Then I get an email saying my fabric is out of stock and to pick something else. Great, would you mind showing me some samples?? Andrea (horrid) in the office said no prob. 2 weeks and no email later I sent one to her saying forget it. I don't want the cover I just want my money back. She ignored me. 2-3 weeks later (last week) I sent an email that simply said," this is ridiculous. You need to refund my money." to which I got a response saying " I have no problem issuing the refund, I just don't know who this is" oh. Em. Gee. Deep deep breath. So then I responded letting her know who I was, the same chick she has been dealing w for the last 6 months, and if she didn't refund my money I would have to find another way. To which she responded... oh wait...no she didn't respond at all...what a shocker. I should have listened to my mommy friends. They told me the baby guy SUCKS at special orders, most products don't fit what they're made for. Customer service is below horrendous and they never answer their phone. My bad for not listening, Their bad for steeling my money ******All you other ladies that have the same issue -report them on the better business bureau website. When I first found out I was pregnant I knew I wanted custom bedding from the baby guy. After reading other Yelp reviews I was a little nervous because numerous people had had bad experiences. But, I went ahead and ordered the bedding extremely early (in May when I was due in October). I placed my bedding order on 5/12/12 and was told that the fabric I selected was back ordered but that my order should be ready by mid-to-end June. I didn't end up receiving my order until 8/10/12 and even then I had to call to check the status of it, I never received a call from them. When I went to pick up the order the crib sheet that should've been included wasn't so I was told I could pick that up later. In the meantime while I was waiting on the bedding, I placed an order for a rocking chair cover on 7/1/12. Gerry told me he would try to have it ready with my bedding so I could pick it up all together. It is now 10/11/12 and I haven't received the rocking chair cover or my crib sheet. I have called the Baby Guy to follow up at least 15 times and EVERY SINGLE TIME Claudia or Andrea tells me that she will call me back, that has NEVER happened. I have yet to receive a call back and I am the one who follows up, only to be told they will look into it and call me back. In early September Andrea told me that my order "had been lost in the shuffle" and it wasn't even started yet. One would think that, at that point, they would have made it a priority to get my order done since I had ordered it 2 months before, but that was not the case. As of today the order hasn't even been started. I called 10 days ago and told them that I wanted a refund of my order as I no longer wanted to do business with them and the charge has still not been refunded. Ultimately, I am disputing the charge with my credit card company because, if I wait on The Baby Guy, the money will probably never be refunded. As for my crib sheet, Claudia is "looking into it and will call me back;" I won't hold my breath. I must admit, the end product of all of The Baby Guy's items are amazing but it is absolutely ridiculous how they run their business and I want nothing to do with them anymore. I heard some of Gerry's former employees opened their own, similar business. I will end up looking for them and take my chances. I would NEVER recommend The Baby Guy to any of my friends unless they have many, many months to wait to receive their product. read more

5 stars for quality & price - 1 star for customer service on custom bedding = my 3 star average. I would have given them 2 stars but the fact that we actually received our sons custom crib bedding(weeks later than promised of course) made me give them an extra "mercy" star. Long story short - great product and options for custom bedding as well as their ready made items but horrible customer service on custom items and the worst communication from any company my wife and I have ever dealt with, at least the DMV has to answer your phone calls, these guys not so much. I would highly recommend only buying their ready made items as there were a few times we thought that they took our money and we wouldn't be getting our custom crib bedding that we ordered. Long story long- My wife and I were impressed by the selection of cool and custom made baby items when we visited their booth at the OC marketplace. We purchased a few ready made items from them that day, the bib we purchased is probably the best bib we have ever used, that thing is straight up bulletproof. We decided to come back to them to custom make our sons crib bedding about five months before our son was born. We met with Gerry at the OC marketplace and everything went great, he gave us the whole dog and pony show and we felt confident the bedding would be ready between the 4-6 weeks they quoted us so we decided to pay the total amount up front (yes i know not the smartest idea but i didn't read any Yelp reviews until after we started getting the run around, but we did put it on our Amex as a precaution) and left with smiles on our faces. So we waited the quoted 4-6 weeks before calling to inquire on our bedding and that is when the problems started happening. They NEVER answered our calls or returned our messages for a few weeks. We finally received a call back and they let us know our fabric was on back order, which is understandable, however common practice is to let your customers know this ahead of them having to track you down for a few weeks especially after it was past your quoted pick up time frame. So we wait another few weeks and we get more of the same and then finally a call saying there was a death in the family (again totally understandable but a little communication would be nice) and our bedding would be ready in another couple weeks. We finally received our bedding 4-5 months after we ordered it (thankfully a few days before our son was born). Like I mentioned above, the product and quality is great but was by far the worst customer service experience we have ever had. They would have got 5 stars if the customer service was on point. They have a great business and products but their customer service is seriously killing them. I won't refer any of our friends to them for custom made items, only for the ready made items at their booth. Gerry, do yourself a favor and turn your customer service around before your business dries up. Under promise and over deliver, not the other way around. read more

I have no complaints at all! I picked out the perfect fabric for my baby bedding and everyone was so helpful. My bedding was completed a week earlier than the time frame they projected. When picking up the bedding I ordered a valance for our nursery and was worried it wouldn't be ready by the time the baby arrived, but it was ready in a week and a half! Absolutely love! My husband and I just purchased our sons crib set from his location at the OC Swap Meet! We purchased the Black and White Anchors Set and its amazing. It is made perfectly and the fabric and quality of it couldn't be better. The staff there was so nice. I am so happy with the Baby Guys products and service. I ordered a custom crib set and they told me it would be approx 6 weeks. Just 5 weeks later I have the set and it's more than I could have imagined. I love that Gerry designed the set custom to what I wanted. I wasn't too sure what I wanted at first, but he totally designed the coolest under the sea set for my baby. I gave him some fabric I liked, and paint chips of what the nursery is painted and put the rest in his hands. I'm glad I did because what he created was amazing. I purchased a custom crib bedding ensemble and infant carrier cover at the OC fairgrounds. Once I placed my order it was ready for me within the two week timeframe I was given. It was a little bit on the pricey side but again it's custom made and you won't find quality like this in a baby store. I first started using the baby guy in 2012 while I was pregnant with my daughter. The experience of meeting with Gerry and having him listen to exactly what I wanted for a crib set was incredible. The collaboration between my ideas and his expertise came out beautifully. Since then I have visited their store front numerous times to pick up extra odds and ends. The girl Kimya that works the front office is so friendly and welcoming, she really makes you feel like it's all about you and your needs. You can tell that everyone there is passionate about what they do and the quality really shows in their products.
