For an order for four people, two being boneless wings a burger and a Philly steak we received a total of 6 seemingly Tyson nuggets for 14 dollars, ordered water (which was tap) and a beer which we never received it (thankfully not charged). The burger and Philly were of decent quality. The ambiance was a basic dive bar, classic rock and elderly clientele. The service was abysmal one waitress actually working, and sadly ours was not. It's basically a bar with food, and there are not tons of restaurant choices in the area. Had a pulled pork sandwich that had no bbq sauce at all, so thank goodness they gave me a little cup. It was just ok. My friend ordered the nachos, really meant for sharing & rather big. Tried a taste--they were ok. Very limited beer selection, particularly on tap. I don't think I'll bother trying it again. This was maybe my third visit & I'm even less impressed than the first time. read more

My first trip to the Back Forty was just for a quick lunch. I got their fish and chips which for fish was reasonably priced. It was a breaded rather than battered fish, but still good none-the-less. Both the staff and the food are great. I'd give them 5 stars for those, but the atmosphere has no privacy and it is often difficult to hear other people talk over the sound. The entire restaurant is entirely open, so it's hard to block sounds from other tables. I would still give this place another try. read more

Stopped into this place while visiting some friends. We pulled into the parking lot at the same time as 50+ bikers did so we thought that food would be slower to get out, BUT the drinks, appetizers, and entrees came out so fast! The establishment was very clean and the food was delicious! We had several appetizers, the puff bread (must-have), the artichoke & spinach dip, and the mushrooms (huge and tasty)! I had the chicken philly with a side of southwest sauce (definitely get the sauce) and I cleared my plate before I could blink. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area. It's a local joint and they put pride in the food and service. 10/10 would recommend! read more

Stopped here after work on my way home. Ordered a draft, was chilled, tasted good. Tasted like they do keep the lines clean, just wished it was a bit colder. In the summer I'm sure you could really tell more of a temperature difference. But, the real concern is the food. I ordered the boneless wings, which came with barely any sauce. The bartender was very nice and attentive, and she brought extra after I asked. I ate a few of the smaller boneless wings in one bite, then took a bite of a larger one. It was very raw. I got the bartenders attention, and the other waitress that was there commented that it was happening several times over the past weekend. Really???? They knew there was an issue and did nothing about it? It was the owner in the kitchen cooking as well. She never came out, never apologized. If this is how they operate, you might be just be better off ordering a drink or beer and eating elsewhere. read more

This place has amazing food with some of the cheapest prices around. Thursday nights are wing night with 40¢ wings and they are huge whole wings! They have drink specials every night and the environment is almost as awesome as the staff. It's also a great place to go just for the casual lunch or out on a date. The best food in the area. Everything homemade and fresh and tasty. Nice salads decorated with fresh fruit, pot roast with potatoes and carrots, fried bread, genuinely homemade soups, etc. On Saturday night at least, loud disco music and a DJ... but that did not stop people from bringing babies and grandmothers for a nice family dinner. Thursday is 75 cent wing night. They are large wings, but they need to fry them a few seconds longer. The wings could be cooked a bit longer. We gone there several times for wing night and they tend to be a bit undercooked. read more

The food was good and the band and the people were fun. The only complaint I had was the waitress. I have never been treated that bad and I tip every time something is brought to me. I ordered a cup of coffee, told her keep one dollar, and when she came back with change for my twenty she shorted me ten dollars. When I said I gave her a twenty she looked funny and said casually, "Oh that's right." I still gave her the benefit of the doubt but she was surly and the service was really bad from then on. She was angry that we weren't ready to order food when she wanted us to. We really liked our first waitress but when she was replaced with the surly one it put a damper on the evening. read more

I am a truck driver and like to try unique diners that are locally owned and operated. This is a bar/restaraunt that seemed to have a good feel to it before I walked in. When I opened the door I was surprised to hear a country band that had about 15+ senior citizens tearing up the the dance floor. I first thought to myself "holy cow I'm the youngest person in here" and as I watched them dance into the night I realized this place had brought the inner youth out of these folks and I loved every bit of it. The atmosphere was decent, the food was greasy bar food but good. The burger was a bit too greasy and had my bottom bun soaked in grease and hard to eat. The cottage cheese was so good that I asked to take it home so I could eat it with a good steak. My wife ended up burning the heck out of that steak but the cottage cheese was good enough with some chicken. I don't think I would go back for just good cottage cheese but I was happy I did go in the first place. read more
