We found this restaurant in the way back from Lansing and it offered gluten free and vegan options which we needed for one of the people in our party it's much larger inside than it initially looks. We got seated in the back room. They actually have a gluten free menu and a vegan menu. I got the southwest chicken wrap. It was good and came with chips and I got a side of their French onion dip. My son got the macaroni and cheese meal and his girlfriend got the mushroom burger on gluten free bread. We all liked our food. I took half of my sandwich home. read more

Great restaurant, friendly staff and delicious food. I really enjoyed having dinner at Blondie's. We will definitely return again. Also, everything is made fresh and they have a variety of menu options from regular, vegan and gluten free. There aren't many restaurants that make food fresh so that's a huge game changer. read more

Friday night dinner meet up with family. Here is what we liked: * Immediate seating for a party of 5 * General Tsaos cauliflower is just good stuff * love the beer list * The Michigan Harvest salad was just darn good. Heavy on the good stuff. * The holiday sangria was both festive and tasty. Here's what could of been better: * The barrel old fashioned was just lacking something. * Almost always get the Chicken plans as they are delicious- but decided to get something different and went for the wings with the kickin bourbon sauce. We had a great experience at Blondie's! We came with a party of 5 and were seated very quickly. Our server was very friendly as well. For appetizers we had the Mac and cheese, buffalo dip, and steak bites. The Mac and cheese and buffalo dip were both great. As an entree I had the Caesar wrap which was very good. The fries were cold and not good. For dessert we had the peanut butter pie and salted caramel cheesecake. The peanut butter one was the better of the two. I googled restaurants in Flint sitting 50 miles away and trying to find a spot to meet a friend for lunch. Now, you would think that since she lives there she would be able to make a suggestion or two, but alas no. It was left for me to find something suitable, and Blondies ended up being a nice surprise. Honestly, I thought it would be more of a dive bar, but I always think any place that uses the word spirits in their name seems like an older dive bar to me. This was actually a very large restaurant with plentiful seating and very lovely. The staff was friendly and receptive and very attentive. I did ask what they were known for and she gave me a list, but once I noticed the BLT pizza on the menu and immediately forgot everything else she said. I might have a slight obsession with these damn things. When the waitress brought it over, it was so beautiful I wanted to hang it up on the Louvre. Check out the pic, I ain't lyin'. So damn pretty. But this is where it ended. Now granted, I'm a bit of an expert on these ( pat myself on the back) and I might be a little more picky than your average rabbit, but I was a little disappointed The crust was very thick, dense and chewy and seemed a little undercooked. The toppings were solid, no issued there, but without a strong crust (especially when your pizza isn't using sauce) it really brings down the level of the pizza. I'm still giving it four stars though because my friend ordered the brussel sprouts and they were perfect and fantastic so I'm going to give them a pass on the pizza and assume it was an anomaly. Everything else about the day was great and I doubt that this one thing would consistently got wrong. Will definitely go back and try it one more time. read more

THEY DO NOT UNDERSTAND GLUTEN!!! I decided to pull our family off the highway to go to the place as we traveled through because it offers a vegan menu and a gluten free menu. I have celiac disease so always feel better about a place that offers this option and my son and his wife are vegan so it fit our needs...until it didn't. The building seemed clean but outdated. Wait staff nice. I asked the waitress several gluten free questions and she seemed quite knowledgeable. I ordered the impossible burger on a gluten free bun with their homemade cheese. When my food arrived along with the rest of my family I went about preparing it with mustard and ketchup knowing this was my burger because it had the bagged gluten free lays chips and not the homemade that everyone else got. I was 3 bites into eating when it hit me this isn't a gluten free bun. I asked the waitress again to make sure I was wrong in guessing this and she froze. She confirmed this was indeed a GLUTEN bun! She quickly removed my plate and said they would remake it! I left and later my husband brought me the new burger in a to go box and we left. I opened the box only to find the burger I had taken 3 bites out of on a new gluten free bun!! WHAT!?!? Seriously that is the worst! They clearly do not take gluten seriously so no way I would go back or suggest this place to anyone needing to stay away from gluten. read more

I am giving 4 stars even though they took my very favorite thing off their menu, and since then I never feel like the experience is necessarily worth the bill. Truth is, it's a nice place that I enjoy sitting with family, friends, and co-workers from time to time. The desserts are fantastic, but I do find the prices high for the small portions. Service is almost always really good, though occasionally you'll get a server who is distracted or just flighty. read more

The service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and the ladies never let our coffee cups empty. I tried the jalapeno popper Burger with homemade potato chips and homemade french onion dip. Was pleasantly surprised by the extensive vegan menu at Blondies. Shared the BLT flatbread, the quesadilla burger and upgraded the side to garlic bread. Everything was delicious and amazing, though they did forget the bacon on the BLT flatbread. The kitchen was apologetic and luckily we realized after a few pieces and they sent a small bowl out. Just went for the first time. We had the best and most helpful waiter, Jeremiah, who gave great suggestions for the vegan and non vegan items. We shared pretzels to start and a piece of vegan peanut butter pie. Everything was great, if we lived in the area, we would be regulars. Two words... chicken planks. Large juicy tender well seasoned chinch's of delicious chicken breast. The fries are super good too. A companion ordered the salad. It was large and generous! Service here was good as well. We had a large party of 18 and the staff took very good care of us.! Got our drink and food orders orders right. They were very nice to do separate checks. Was thrown out of the bar for no explanation and surrounded by members of the kitchen staff and intimated/felt threatened while trying to pay my tab until I left. On a $40 total tab, and paid with $100 all change was in $5/$1 bills... When I asked for owners name and contact information of the manager and reason for removal, I was sworn at and refused any information... Left and returned later for owner's business card to discuss situation only to be sworn at, harrassed and intimidated by multiple members of staff again. When finally in discussion with owner, she was hostile and rude and directed to talk to her lawyer rather than being given a proper explanation for the behavior of her staff. Only decernment is that I mentioned Trump several times at the bar while having drinks and lightly made conversation about this with the bartender. I was immediately served my tab and escorted out with imtimidation BEFORE I COULD EVEN COUNT MY CHANGE. Very rude management and owners. read more

Well it's a well rounded local restaurant in flint that was rated the best. It is very good but service needs some improvement. I was here with a party of 7 due to a tragedy but we came here from recommendations from the locals and they pointed my family to this restaurant. So far food was decently delicious. I had shared the Alfredo pasta and it was good. The cheese in the Alfredo was creamy but the pasta was good but missing a certain texture to give it a wow factor for the pasta. The marinated chicken was actually very delicious however in a good way I was expecting a big portion like most restaurants especially coming from Chicago but then again my order after losing weight was just enough to satisfy my appetite. Ambiance was like a lodge cabin feel and Alot of jolly locals what is weird in my group is the expectations of the portions to what we imagine what we get on the menu. My niece's husband tomato vegetable soup was far generous portion than my 1 chicken marinated breast which thus the 4 out of 5 stars. Otherwise a very good restaurant just a bit quirky in regards to expectations and portion sizes somebody has a hearty appetite then I would advise them to ask how big the portions are if your dining room and you're out of Flint and from another city or town. Our server forgot certain condiments for some of my family members which is why I also brought the subject of the service needed some improvement. Otherwise they were attentive. read more

The options near the hotel were slim and this place was pretty much across the street. It looks like it was a Denny's or something like that in the past. I went with my boss and they sat us near the bar and pull tab machine. We must have gone pretty early because we were the youngest patrons by about 25 years. A couple years ago, I noticed French onion soup is pretty common in eastern Michigan. Every restaurant seems to have it. I hadn't had a bowl yet this trip so I gave it a shot. I also ordered the Michigan salad. The soup was pretty good. The salad was a little heavy on the raw onions but still good. My boss got a quesadilla burger. He orders everything well done so I can't image it was any good. I'll be back in Flint next week so I'll probably stop in again. read more

I am a big fan! There is a large selection, plus an easy take out system. I've only done carry out, but the place inside is nice and home-y. For take out: you'll get a text when your food is ready (says it takes 30min, but my both experiences have been 20min) Build your own burger was 100% what I was expecting, so I was very happy with it. Arrived at 6:45p, waited forever for my food. The soup I ordered came out the same time as my food. By the time I was done with my soup, the food was cold. Would have tasted good if it was hot or at least warm. No one asked how my meal was, so when I was done I told them about the food not being hot. I've only eaten here once before last night & I ordered the same thing I had a couple months back previously. The southwest chicken wrap with french fries. Obviously, the first time I had it, it was very good which made me order it again. This time we placed a pick up order. Sadly my Southwest chicken wrap was 90% lettuce, not much chicken ..zero bacon zero black beans.. and absolutely zero sauce! It was extremely heartbreaking and disappointing. $47 just to feed me and my boyfriend he got the side of mac & cheese...
