I went there for the first time. The associate asked what I needed done. I asked if she could finish the raw edge of a hemline on my top with overcast stitching. She said no without really looking at it or giving alternate suggestions. I had it easily done by a different tailor. read more

This place does awesome work for mens' clothes. I grew up in a mens' retail shop and am familiar with the business. I am here to say they do great work. I brought in a pair on pants that had an odd hem. When I got them back it looked the same. I cant really judge on womens' clothes, but if you are a guy, this is the place to go. Excellent service too. When I come in someone immediately addresses me. I don't have to ring the bell, wait 10 minutes, ring the bell again...etc. Give them a try. read more

I love this business. I'm always bringing them everything from the ordinary (missing buttons or sewing on a patch) to extraordinary (changing a shirt size) to the truly strange (making a quilt out of t-shirts) and they never let me down. Their seamstresses are creative and my work has always been done on time. I've spent a 10th to repair clothes that I would have otherwise thrown away. I am so glad I take all my alterations here now. When I first moved to McKinney, I would drive to the west end of Frisco for alterations based on a friend's recommendation. It was very inconvenient especially during work days. So I found All About Fashion and met Mina, the shop owner. I don't understand the negative reviews about her poor customer service and terrible work. Mina has always been kind to me and her work is impeccable. I'm not the kind of person who requires to be treated like royalty for every store I enter. Mina is direct and isn't smiling all the time. But she keeps her promises and knows her craft. If people think just because they spend a little money in a store and that should entitle them to "special treatment," you should lower your expectations in life. I'm assuming these people have complained about public servants. "I pay for your salary so you work for me." Really? Let's assume these people are referring to a politician or police officer. For simplicity, let's say the annual salary for a cop or a state senator makes $70,000 a year gross in a city with a population of 100k. And let's assume each resident works and pays their taxes. That means these people individually contribute $0.70 annually to a single politician or single cop. So if I gave these same people $1, I'm allowed to be as rude as possible? Not everyone defines customer support the same way. Mina obviously wasn't born or grew up in the states. Her form of customer service is just different but still on par with those overly helpful store employees. I bet these people complain about their food at restaurants if it isn't perfect and take it out on the servers. And I guarantee their stomach has been filled with DNA that doesn't belong to them. Sorry, back to Mina. There are always customers whenever I visit no matter what day. Which means she works the front and back with an assistant after store hours. For those who complain about her customer service, try perceiving it differently. Maybe you had a bad day caused by someone and now you write a horrible review to make yourself feel better. Maybe Mina is stressed out and you caught her on a day she didn't roll out a red carpet and threw rose petals wherever you walked. Sometimes customer service that isn't to your liking has nothing to do with you. In short, the world doesn't revolve around you. Sorry for the long review. Its probably because I felt mistreated sometime in the last few days. But if you're going to complain on the internet about someone you had physical contact with like servers, retail store employees; people like Mina, perhaps talk to them and ask if things are okay because they seem upset. I've received explanations and an apology 90% of the time. And many of the explanations are more than enough to not work that day. Lastly, her prices are fair. The place I used for alterations before is more expensive and their work is not consistent. And keep in mind the location of the store; the overhead. I'm sure prices are cheaper elsewhere, but I'm not driving far in a sketchy neighborhood just so I could pay less and / or obtain the customer some people demand. Most of us who use "All About Fashion" for convenience sake are lucky to live in one of the surrounding neighborhoods. Sorry for the long review! I must have felt mistreated recently which is why the majority was not about reviewing "All About Fashion." I admit it was a short review followed by a guide to not be a pretentious prick. From the moment you walk through the doors, the super friendly staff will great you with a smile and assess how they can make your favorite shirt fit again after losing all that weight, how to transform an old dress into something that will bring swarms of hashtags on social media, praising you for how well you pulled that outfit off, like the confident rockstar you are. Myself, I wear a police uniform every day; but I didn't like the baggy shIrt, or long/lose sleeves covering my biceps up. In police work "officer presence" can make the difference between having to fight a Suspect into cuffs, or be able to talk him into cuffs. When I step out of my patrol car at the scene, the suspects always size me up, then realize that any physical altercation wouldn't play out to their favor, so they usually comply, no force used at all. Now an officer with a baggy shirt, who doesn't display his strengths may have to go hands on to make an arrest, placing the officer, the suspect, and others at risk of injury. It's all about how you look and feel in your clothes, and I feel confident in my altered uniforms thanks to "All About Fashion". For first responders, this a must, a game changer, and all for a great price. read more

This is my go-to place for clothing repair. Convenient location and "real" people. Like one time while in there to drop something off I asked about a neighboring store's (a jewelry store, offering repairs) validity. I was given very helpful info regarding the owner's character, but I was also suggested to stop in there to get my own opinion. While I'm generally Ok with a bit of attitude from small business owners, found the principal here to be rude and a poor business woman. Pricing tends to be random, depending on when you go in. On off hours when she is not busy, you tend to get fair pricing. If she is busy, you tend to get 2-3X pricing. She is consistently rude, often yelling at you if you come in near closing time. With so many tailors, not worth the effort to do business here. read more

I had some alterations done and was very disappointed with the work. Not only is she ridiculously expensive and she has an attitude. I noticed that in two of my outfits she used different colored thread and made the outfits look worse after she worked on them. I asked her to fix one of the outfits and she did but said it was more work for her. She even said that any more alterations would be at an additional cost. Now I have to take them somewhere to get them fixed again. Not only is this time consuming but more money out of pocket! I'm not happy with her service at all. When I got home and found an issue with it and called back, the lady who answered the phone was rude to the point of insulting. What happened to the customer is always right? What happened to pride in your work? What happened to "please come back and allow us to fix this?", well I can tell you you will not find any of those things at ALL ABOUT FASHION. This place is great! I took a chance since once review noted there was a new owner. Mina (the new owner) is SO sweet. She did a great job of taking in a couple of dresses that were too long since I'm relatively petite, around 5'1. I went back within in a week with a pair of pants that were also too long and now they are perfectly tailored and look store bought. Either way, this place is a gem. Prices are affordable, service is great and quick. There are even cute scarves on display that Mina herself makes- the craftsmanship is impressive. Definitely recommend this place to anyone who needs an item tailored- or even something custom made. read more

They do not do immpecable work and this tailor is ridiculously expensive. Also not very friendly. I went to the store to get alteration done but I should have taken my clothes away when I had that bad feeling in my gut. One side of my dress was higher than the other. Smh. And I paid so much for this nonsense. I can't believe the other reviews...im prettty sure I didn't go to the wrong store. They are professional and friendly. They do quality work. They are fast and accurate. I've only had 1 item in 3 years that didn't fit well after being tailored, but I didn't bring it to their attention. A hem is $22, taking in the waist/side of a pair of pants is $16, I don't know how that rates elsewhere but like I said, it's quality work, in a reasonable amount of time. I wish they were more automated. After 3 years I still have to give the same amount of personal information as if I were new, but they do take AMEX which is hard to find in a small business. I don't go anywhere else!!! I don't even try on after they tailor because I know it's going to be right. They've fixed everything from sides, zippers, hems, seams, jeans, dress pants, suit jackets, outdoor jackets, etc etc. read more

Took two new pairs of pants in on Tuesday to be altered and after being told they'd be ready next Wednesday, I asked the owner if picking up Friday was possible since I'd like to take them with me to an important meeting starting this weekend. I decided not to use her based on that #1 and #2 because she wanted to charge $87 for alterations on a suit.
