Excellent atmosphere. Very busy on a Friday night but thankfully I checked in through the Yelp app and walked in, was told 10-15 minutes and we were seated within 2 minutes. Very attentive waitress, allowed us extra time to review the menu since this was our first time. Never felt rushed at all. The food was great. Started off with onion rings (still thinking about these) and opted for Philly cheesesteak for my meal. Queso is definitely the way to go on the cheesesteak. After visiting Texas Ranger Musuem in the morning, we had to eat lunch somewhere and we chose this very popular crowded restaurants with at least 3 bars and 5 dinning rooms, including the outside patio. Waco, Texas is great place to spend an entire day here which is great. After lunch had enough time to visit Dr Pepper Musuem, Branding the Brazos sculptures by the bridge and WWII Doris Miller, Navy statue. It was worth the wait, everyone talking and eating enjoying themselves. Food came and everything was delicious. This would be a nice town to stay overnight. I took a photo of the Silos in the distance because too tired and ran out of time and had to drive back to Austin where our hotel was. This is a gem of a restaurant to save money and nice place to hang out. We tried coming back here on Easter for lunch, but they close during this holiday. read more

My father and I stopped here for lunch while driving to Fort Worth. I have seen this restaurant on a YouTube Tube video. The place was busy but we were seated within 10 minutes. The menu had a lot of items but we both tried the chicken fried steak. I had macaroni and cheese and fried okra for my sides. My father had green beans and the sweet potato casserole for his sides. All was great and the service was good. The Chicken Fried stake had good flavor however the breading came off really easy. Price wise it was not bad. The food here is great, but I wanted some of their amazing onion rings to munch on for my drive to Ft Worth. I walked in to order, and it took sooooooooo long to get them. I literally waited 25 minutes. They also have some t-shirts for sale in the front waiting area, I think I memorized them all waiting. Lol Maybe ordering ahead is a better option, because they were not even busy inside and like 4 people were standing up front chatting. But,they were super delicious as always. My family & I were visiting Waco & stopped for lunch at George's. When you walk in the smell is amazing!! The servers were also ready with a warm welcome. We had a party of 7 & it didn't take long to get seated. Our server was attentive. Always made sure we had drinks & keeping up with our order. The food took a long time to come out so they gave us rolls to hold us over. (This is why I took a star away). They were VERY good! I haven't had chicken fried chicken in a long time and really enjoyed it as well as the side salad & the fried okra was soooo good!! I tried my mom's fries, they were okay. I've been here to drink and I've been here to eat and both times it was spot on. This restaurant, right off of I-35 is some of the best food that I think you can find in Waco. Keep in mind it is the kind of food that is fried, gravy, real butter, ranch and all of those things that us Southerners know that we shouldn't eat in abundance, but still crave. You can also come here and have a great time at the bar with beer and cocktails. The staff here has always been above and beyond friendly. This restaurant was recommended by a friend and glad she did. I ordered the Cadillac with the Akaushi beef. It came with three onion rings stacked inside the burger. I also ordered a side of onion rings and they come nice and crispy. Everyone on the table enjoyed them. Our server was amazing. You can tell by the staff's interaction with their patrons they had a steady source of repeat business. Go hungry and leave full. For my entree, I had the patty melt. Honestly it wasn't my favorite, the meat wasn't the best, and I believe whataburger has better patty melts. My boyfriend had the chicken and beef fajitas with mashed potatoes and mac and cheese. The beef fajitas were delicious and flavorful, however the chicken was a bit dry so I'd recommend just getting beef. The mashed potatoes were good, but the mac and cheese wasn't anything amazing, Chick-fil-A has better mac. I'd come back and order different items to give this restaurant another try! read more

Quite possibly the BEST steak I hace ever eaten in my life! We both got the choice ribeye steak, cooked to perfection. I just have no words to describe this level of deliciousness. Friends and I go here almost every Thursday for breakfast. the breakfast choices are many and varied. Plus, it's usually not very busy so we can sit and visit if we want. Great place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. read more

Stopped by here while visiting Waco because it was recommended by family who live down there and is marketed as a Waco classic. They have a comfy ambiance with friendly and attentive service and a very large menu. This was also one of the most affordable places we ate at during our trip which was nice. I had the Hawaiian Chicken which was just the right amount of food with good flavor. Pretty simple food but cooked well and yummy.
