Pork belly nachos and French dip sandwich

Wow, what a gem of a place!! I downloaded the roadtrippers app with the goal to find some decent places for food while traveling. The goal is to stay close to the route, but find the quality, worthwhile, local spots in areas I'm not familiar with. And boy, did it serve its purpose! The food was absolutely delicious, the cost surprisingly affordable, especially for the quality of it, the service was wonderful, and the atmosphere was amazing! What a fun, cute spot with a wonderful outdoor area. I'm definitely planning a summer camping trip and coming back to enjoy this spot again when I'm not in the middle of a long drive!

Pouring down with rain on a weeknight, the inside seating at The Backyard was packed. I managed to order a beer and a bite at the counter and lucked out with a table where I sipped at my beer, had my pork rinds delivered, and clicked away at some Yelp reviews. There's a family vibe here at the Backyard. Friendly service and nice folks. I had a pleasant evening. [Review 18077 overall - 1360 in Virginia - 1599 of 2022.]

Stopped by for a few drinks and food. A variety of different on tap brews. I enjoyed Bold Rock, I know I'm a whimp. The macho nachos were delicious and the Boars Head sandwiches were delicious, just remember the sandwiches are cold. The staff were very nice and attentive. The prices arent bad at all. They have a nice selection of food.I got the club and was disappointed. The backyard is very nicely setup.

It was Katie's, and then Katie's moved upstairs, which granted that space available for Boscov's to move in and take reign of the Piedmont Mall once and for all. Until its eventual downfall in 2012. I guess it heard the end of the world was coming and decided to get on out before the going got tuff. Anyway, Dunham's doesn't really do it for me as pretzel joint. I've been to Katie's Pretzels when it moved upstairs into a little space on the corner across from Belk: my favorite location of them all in the Piedmont Mall. Here is where Katie's Pretzels really came into their own. I mean - WHAAT a location!! This ensured I would visit a part of the Piedmont Mall I would never have traversed otherwise. What even IS Belk ?! But all of the wonders of Katie's Pretzels could not have prepared me for what they would enact - and rightfully deserve - next: a name change. Monk's. Monk's Pretzels is a step into nirvana. Babylon. Pure, unadulterated bliss. A name change in conjunction with the name change of the Piedmont Mall to the Danville Mall. This is pure power, folks. This is as fine as it gets. Visit this place at once. 5 stars. Favorite item: orangeade. Medium please!

Unfortunately, this one didn't quite hit the mark. The space itself is nice--plenty of seating inside and out, a private room in the back, clean bathrooms and even a stage where live music was playing during our visit. But the food situation was confusing. They have a full kitchen and menu listed, yet when we arrived, they were only serving food from a BBQ food truck/side business. Not sure if it was a staffing issue, a special event, or just how they do things on certain days, but it definitely wasn't clear for someone just passing through. Beer-wise, they had a decent range of styles, but nothing really stood out flavor-wise. Everything was just... okay. Not bad, but not memorable. Service was similar--there seemed to be only one guy behind the bar running things while the rest were tied to the BBQ setup. He wasn't rude, just not super engaged. All in all, this place was fine, but nothing WOWed me. With a little more clarity on the food, a stronger beer lineup and more upbeat staff, it could be a much better stop for travelers passing through, or even the regulars.

Ordered the Quirk Cherry Blossom & Lime seltzer, burger and tots. The seltzer was very good, def hits more cherry and floral than lime. The burger was excellent and the tots crispy. The price point was a little high for me on the burger ($12) since it didn't come with anything. Tots were an additional $4. I get it, it's expensive to run a business. Overall, totally worth the stop and would come again.

Let me up the worst pretzel-buying experience in Auntie Anne's in Tanger Outlets at Mebane, NC…read more When I entered, the floors were filthy with litter of discarded napkins and plastic. There were about 3-4 employees inside, mostly just standing behind the concession, and not 1 of them could clean the floors?! The area inside is small with no seats inside but there are seats in front, at the center of Tanger's open-but-roofed walkway. I ordered a small Pretzel nuggets ($8) with 1 cheese dip (almost $2). I usually get the Garlic or Sour Cream flavor but this Auntie Anne did't have either available. They only had salt, some kind of sweet flavor, and pepperoni. My order was served fast probably because I was the only customer there, but I realized that the pretzel bites were cold, not fresh at all! On top of that, the dip the cashier gave me was wrong! He gave me Sweet Glaze instead of cheese, so I went back to exchange it. How could this Auntie Anne's be such a mess in so many levels: the lack of 2 of my favorite pretzel flavors, cold food quality, dirty floors, terrible customer service, and the fact that an $8 small cup of pretzel nuggets doesn't even come with a free dip really put a bad image to Tanger Outlets, considering that this is 1 one of the only few snack choices in this outlet. I've been to other Auntie Anne's before -even a few locations in the Philippines- but this particular small, badly-managed franchise is absolutely the worst. | Overall Score: 0.1/5
