The earthquake cake was fabulous; it was not a soft cake, it was very dense and full of rich chocolate, cream cheese and chocolate chips . It was extremely filling. The two women who helped us were very polite and very patient as we took forever to choose from their delicious options. They had a massive selection of treats. A true sweet-treat paradise. The ambiance reminds me of the old candy shops I would go to on the Oregon coast, which brought back fond memories. It would be helpful if, instead of a large sign that said 'bakery,' it had the business name. Nonetheless, this place was great, and we will definitely be back.

This bakery has been scientifically designed in a lab to cease me from existing. But what a way to…read morego!! I suffer from decision fatigue. The issue with this place? There's no wrong decisions. I had made my mind up as soon as I saw the selections in the case: one of everything. Problem with that is... there's a lot to choose from. And worse than that? I went there in pumpkin season. How am I supposed to decide when there is a selection, and then next to it was the pumpkin version of it. (Except pig in a blanket, but maybe next year? Maybe they were sold out??) So yeah, everything in there looks fantastic but I can't have one of everything (I could, but like I said before, that would check the box next to deceased for me). I got a "slice" of coffee cake. And a cupcake. I had to eat the cupcake on my walk back to the lovely hotel up the road so that my wife would think I was reasonable and only got coffee cake. My wife doesn't like pumpkin stuff the way I do, and buddy, she loved this pumpkin coffee cake. Great place, heat a room near the beach and walk over here, amazing little shop with a feel like a deli you'd see in a movie but it's a bakery. As I left I heard a voice from further back in the kitchen thank me for coming in and I knew that voice came from the grim reaper... Maybe next time, pal

Ok so usually we have no issues with service or the food, but this was from last Saturday 4/18 and…read moreI'm still thinking about it. My husband and I came in with our son after eating at the food trucks nearby, we wanted a sweet treat so we popped in. We got to the counter and I'm not sure if it was the owner or employee (female with longer blond ish hair) but they stood there expressionless just looking at us. We decided on what we wanted and waited for a friendly "what could we get you" or something of the sort...nope, just awkward staring. So we started saying what we wanted and again..just staring. At first I wasn't even sure if she was getting our order because she didn't respond at all. Then finally she repeats the items and asks if there was anything else, to which we said no. This person had no smile, no kind tone, I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or what. It's hard not to take it personal since there was no obvious reason for her demeanor, no lines, we weren't there right before close, our order was literally 3 items from the display case. It was so off putting that I actually commented about it to my husband again today and he agreed, such a simple interaction to be so....Bleh. Just a yucky feeling. I had to put it here, sorry but whoever this was you stood out and not in a good way. Sad (that salty dog brownie was VERY tasty)

I was finally able to swing into the new cupcake joint in Warrenton: Killer Kupcakes. I was heading…read moreto a friend's house to celebrate Mother's Day and decided to swing in to surprise her with a couple of cupcakes. The little joint has a cool vibe to it. You walk in and there is a nice sitting/eating area with tables. It's bright and clean. It would be a great place to visit with a friend while noshing on a pastry and cup of coffee. You continue through a threshold to the counter where the selection of goodies reside. The young man working the counter was friendly, chatty and polite. He did, however, put the cupcakes in their take out container incorrectly. Instead of placing the cake on the "bottom" piece, he dropped them into the "container" piece, and popped the bottom on as the top. I didn't realize his mistake until we tried to get the cakes out of the container, which proved to be a very difficult task. A bit of training on packaging may be in order. LOL! Since it was Mother's Day, I chose one of the Mother's Day chocolate cupcakes, along with a Mint Chocolate Cupcake. The frosting is mounded high on the mini-cakes, for sure! I am a frosting lover, so seeing the amount of frosting made my heart leap for sugar joy. The mint chocolate was definitely minty! I liked the frosting! Unfortunately, the cake part was very dry. The frosting was delish, but the cake was mediocre. Way too dry with a "day old" vibe about it. Very unfortunate, and for $6.00, I definitely expected better. The Mother's Day cupcake was good. The chocolate cake tasted fresh and moist. The frosting was nice, too. This definitely was the better of the two. Were they worth $6.00? I'm not sure, tbh. I know things are more expensive and baking is no cheap venture, but if I'm going to pay 6.00 for a cupcake, I do expect more than just "good". I will go back again and try some of the other creations, but only for a special occasion. I can definitely make my own for a lot less. I do hope they succeed though. I would recommend trying them out, and seeing if you find a cupcake you love. I think a small child would love picking out a fun, colorful cupcake as a special treat. They had a lot of different variety to choose from, so I'm hoping I find that one WOW cupcake soon!
