Now why it gets a 4th star is for unique items. I saw gummy eggs, pink Cadillacs, mint coins, and just oddities i uave never seen. For that it gets a 4th star. It's your classic seaside ice cream + fudge + salt water taffy shop! Ice creams are from Tillamook Creamery or Umpqua. The staff was super friendly, and one of the guys even gave my one year-old nephew a free kids' scoop! I ended up with a bag of salt water taffy to take home and mostly enjoyed the bright colors and designs. Cute spot! read more

Cute little ice cream shop in the heart of downtown cannon beach. We stopped in this past weekend to get ice cream an hour and half before dinner reservations at wayfarer. I was so happy because I hotel was a quick and brisk 10 minute walk up the street. Boy! It sure was good. There is a pretty large selection of ice cream flavors; ranging from your classic choices to more daredevil choices. The shop carries tons of salt water taffy, candy, popcorn and other sweet treats. It's been a while since I got their taffy but I do prefer Bruce's candy shop more. Taffy always seems fresher and softer. The one thing that this place has going on is the waffle cones. The place always smells like sweet waffles when I walk by :) Definitely a place we always stop when we head to the beach! read more

Stop number three on our Oregon coastal adventure, Rockaway Beach. After grabbing some lunch at Cannon Beach we were in the mood for some ice cream, Yelp app in had, next stop was The Picnic Basket which just so happened to be a two minute walk to the beach. :) After making it to the shop I had tried the vanilla and one of the salted caramel flavors, they where both delicious! If was so so hard to choose a flavor because they all looked so good! They actually served Tillamook ice cream, which is made right up the block. Moral of the story, if your passing through or going to Rockaway Beach, stop at The Picnic Basket. read more

Yummy tillamook ice cream and fresh salt Walter taffy. Staff was charismatic and friendly.

I love supporting local business and there were many positive reviews, so I ignored the one negative review about cleanliness. I would not recommend ordering anything from behind the counter, instead stick to packaged candies. There is a big selection of chocolates, but the woman behind the counter does not wear gloves when handling food and did not wash her hands in between handling money and food. She also kept rubbing her nose ring and sniffling while handling chocolates. read more

This is my favorite candy store in Seaside and I was so excited to realize there is one closer to my house! This location is a lot smaller and limited selection BUT the selection is fun. There is a huge selection of saltwater taffy as well. I was there when Jasmyne was working and she was so helpful, nice and cheery. It was a far better experience than the other candy shop options in Rockaway. I can't wait to go back. read more

Delicious salt water taffies! Good flavours! My favorite was the golden pear. Around $7 per pound. They have a bunch of random other things. Some of the taffies were a bit harder than others, but most were quite soft, the way they should be. And soooo gooodddd!! read more

This candy shop had it all...homemade fudge, popcorn, taffy, ice cream, smoothies, snow cones, novelty candy and more. The mint fudge was delicious (ask for a sample before you buy). The maui wowi, moose tracks and huckleberry ice cream tastes amazing. The cheese and caramel corn was fresh and hot when we bought it. This is a definite stop with or without kids. We had stopped at Seaside for candy, but since we were staying in Rockaway we wanted to check out Schwietert's Cones & Candy. The older gentleman (owner) was very nice to our family. Explaining which fudge tasted the best, and even threw in a couple extra for us. The fudge, chocolate covered caramel, and seafoam was delicious!! They also have a large variety of salt water taffy! I thought the coffee almond fudge was the best they have weird candy as well such as bacon flavored soda, bacon mints, Harry Potter chocolate frogs, etc. they also had 89 flavors of salt water taffy so good!
