Speaking of danger, the power is a snarled strip?.Oven broiler so filthy I put it outside and creamer dish awful. The community trash can under the trailer window reaked and was stuffed full as well. All is photoed, videoed, documented, reported and available upon request. A violent storm raged all night. The power went out. Car charged my phone for at least a flashlight. The trailer canopy fell across exit door trapping me in. I was not checked on during the night, rather, rescued in the morning. So, I could not use the restroom the whole of that time.. No apologies/concern offered. With all the mud,, a shower was not an option as the drain was clogged with bugs. The patio was drenched due to canopy failure. Owner didn't even offer to wipe the surfaces. So, I sat on the trailer stoop for the duration of my stay (I vacated a day early due to no shower in all this mud). OWNER LIVES ON PROPERTY AND KNEW THIS!!!! Under dire circumstances, and with but another night already paid for, I "graciously" offered to return a different eve, giving the owner an opportunity to clean up and fix things..when I really should have been offered refund/comp as a good business practice by "A Place to Stay Reservations", but thought to offer the owner an even better remedy in her favor instead. Owner absolutely did not care. Think twice before reserving this abode. Not $40-50.00 a night as advertised, by aplacetostay, a nearby Bandera Texas business. Bate & switched to $66.66. Must make own beds at arrival. Strip, transport bedding to laundry at departure? Don't we specifically pay premium price not to have to do this and all the other litany of clean up rules they have in place? Aren't we suppose to be on vacation??? I'm an easy-to-please, understated, happy-go-lucky, hardy country gal, and an author for a travel magazine (the reason for my stay) complaints kept coming in of people deserving refunds but not getting them. I, a senior staff, was sent to verify. This is, "A Place to Stay", as the name of the company implies, just NOT a good one. There were used bars of soap stacked up in the soap holder and someone's used razor was still in there. I called the office and the response I received was "what do you want me to do about it" and that "the maid usually does a great job". They never offered to come and clean and asked if I could throw away the soap and razors. This was suppose to be an anniversary night for me and my husband and we were both very disappointed. When my husband did try and turn the shower on this morning the shower head sprayed all over the bathroom. It clearly needed to be replaced but looks like someone has patched it multiple times. Other than that the cabin was ok, but we would never stay there again. If it weren't for the great winery in town, we would have had a terrible anniversary.

The cabin was the perfect size for myself and my dog (they are pet friendly!) but would comfortably house 2 adults. There is a nice kitchenette and bathroom with all the amenities you would need and then some! Stacey was awesome and suggested some of the local restaurants down the road and she was not wrong about how great the pizza at Dough Joe's is! She is a new owner of the property so she is working to make the cabin's her own--which happens to be super cute and country-chic! Bandera is a cute small town with lots of downtown activity, especially on Saturday. There is a nice park along the Medina river that has some great scenery, wildlife, and picnic tables, however the park closes a little early so check times before you go! There are some great places to hike nearby, as well. I took my dog to the Hill Country State Natural Area and they had plenty of easy-difficult hikes depending on what you're looking for. Definitely will be staying here again if I need a getaway to the Hill Country!

T9C Lodging is a great alternative to staying in motels. If you happened to be visiting Bandera, I do recommend trying T9C out. Each trailer is furnished with satellite TV, WiFi, Full Kitchen, Washer and Dryer. There are only 5 trailers: Ms. Lilly, Tin Lizzy, Rustler's Roost, The Duke and Mae West.

It was less than three miles from Bandera and the entrance to the Hill Country Natural Area State Park, yet we had the seclusion of 40 acres and stalls/round pen for our horses to settle in. Teresa has the eye of an interior decorator with a nicely furnished home that happens to be handicapped accessible with a patio for relaxing and enjoying a sunset over the pecan orchard. The guest house was spacious, immaculate and had entertaining books for night time reading. We also had a nearby creek with some large, but cagey bass and lovely swans to enjoy. Teresa is a gracious hostess, but allows you to feel that your privacy is respected. I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Bandera for our next trip-and our horses probably agree!

Recently, when they figured out that they are in the path of the total eclipse during the time of our reserved stay, they jacked up the price by over 10X and told us to pony up more money! We are out-of-towners and this is our first time visiting Bandera. We always heard about the welcoming, friendliness and hospitality of the small town Texans. What we experienced at the front desk when we checked in wasn't any of those. The young lady who helped with our check-in wasn't friendly nor welcoming. I wanted to check out the place so I asked her if its ok for me to look around. I got a short answer from her after I repeated the question twice. No eye contact, no smile... 2. When we opened our cabin door, a very strong chemical smell of the most recent wood stains was overwhelming. We left the door open for a while to see if the smell got better, it wasn't, and we started feeling a light headache and nausea . So I called the front desk asking for another room. I was put on hold for a long time. I had hang up and then, got a call back. Since another cabin won't be ready until much later, we brought all of our luggages back in the car and drove to the check in area to drop off the keys. The young lady was busy with another customer so we talked to another lady. Again, no smile.. Its noone fault about the smell of the cabin. However, the way the situation was handled, it made us feel like we were bothering them. If I could "suck it in" and stayed in that room, I would. But my sensitive nose couldn't handle it... 3. The cabin itself has very nice wood walls and cute and simple decors. But it's a tiny space with the bunk bed taking a big chunk of the room. No closet or hangers, the tiny shower, and the beddings and towels, being dark brown, didn't help to show the cleanliness. The pillows were so hard, my husband couldn't sleep the 1st night. Luckily, he asked the front desk for a more "fluffier" pillows and got a better night of sleep the next night. Worse is,, there was only one tiny mirror in the bathroom. I am not sure why another mirror wasn't available in the room so 2 people can get ready at the same time... Customer services at these hotels are very important. They play a big part on how people, out-of-towners like us, view about the town and people who live here. Sadly, based on our experience from our stay here, Bandera wan't what we expected and maybe, will be our one time visting... *This resort/these cabins are surrounding by a nice golf course, homes and so many beautiful and peaceful deers. It has so much potential to be a very special place....

My daughter and I stayed here for an event we were attending in town. We stayed only one night,…read morearrived to check in at 7:30 pm on a Friday and we were checking out the next morning before 8:00 am. When we checked in, the woman working at the desk was very friendly. However, she had about a five minute presentation on every detail about the resort. She even talked about things that were not happening while we were there. This would have been nice if we were staying a while but we were obviously there only about 12 hours. The other downside to this is that we were third in line to check in, so we had to stand there and listen to her say it three times. Side note, part of the check in process is to sign a liability waiver which I find odd. After we set off to find our cabin, I was shocked to find the grounds dark, completely dark. The only designation on the cabins is a number on the cabin itself and some of them do not face the street. The porch lights are dim so it was very difficult to find our place in the dark. The room was fine, dimly lit but fine. It was roomy, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice. After we got settled, I went to the restaurant by the main office. They had live music and were taking orders outside. I was told by the woman taking orders that the kitchen was too backed up and they could not take any food orders at the time, "we are a three man operation and are too behind so come back in 30 minutes". Then, when I came back at 9:01 pm I was told they stop serving food at 9:00 and I could only get pizza. Not impressed with the restaurant. The next morning, I got up at 6:00 am to go for a walk. Again, everything is pitch black, no street lights anywhere. I walked through the little cabin street that winds around and followed a sidewalk that apparently turns into the golf course sidewalk. No designation, no lights, I had no idea. A staff member in a golf cart yelled at me that I was not allowed to walk on the golf course sidewalk. This also seemed strange to me as I wasn't running around on the course. I was on a sidewalk. This place was fine if you need to be close for an event, like we were, but I would not choose to stay here for any length of time for recreation.
