Workout classes can be intimidating and having a forever injury that requires modification can make it feel even scarier however, the employees always make sure to welcome new people show them around. I find that before classes (particularly a more full class) there will be socialization between members/attendees and it's not just with people they know, rather with whoever is standing nearby. Of course no one is forcing conversations if people don't wish to be social, but it just feels extra welcoming. The instructors never make you feel left out or like a burden if you need modifications. Having done barre for a while, I'm pretty good at doing my own, however without signaling anyone out they'll offer and demonstrate different modifications for each move and encourage people to take what they need. It's nice to be reminded that this is your workout, and the way you do it doesn't have to fit perfectly into a certain look or move. They also offer hands on modifications, which you can tell them if you'd rather not receive them, but the modifications are never forceful (I think most group fitness people have experienced a modifications from a good intentioned teacher that was a little too zealous - that's never happened to me at Barre3). This is a great place for beginners, for people who are feeling a little alone on starting a fitness/barre journey, for regulars, and for all the in-betweeners. It's a welcoming and inclusive environment, that encourages modifications, all skill levels, and support where ever you need it. However, don't be fooled by all the niceness too much, because the workout will still absolutely kick your butt and is harder than you think - but it's delivered in a way that's always encouraging. Also, the free parking is a major plus of this location! You can park in the attached garage or street parking nearby. For the garage I use the call box and let them know I'm there for barre3 but make sure you get the door code from an employee before your visit, because you'll need that to enter the 2nd door.

I waited in the cold for five minutes (from 4:35-4:40pm) while flagging down / making eye contact with the instructor who completely ignored me and attended to a half full class that already showcased good form. By ten past the start time (4:40pm) I tried calling the phone number (again), but had no luck. Overall, I'm very disappointed. I was really looking forward to this location, but will stick to green hills. Also, this building is very hard to find so plan to arrive extra early if you're taking a class. The facility did appear to be in great shape which is why I gave it two stars.

I was excited to find a studio nearby in Nashville to take a class while I was visiting. The location was very easy to find and the person I spoke with on the phone was very friendly. That being said, I had an experience that I have never had in my five years as a Pure Barre member. The studio was locked when I arrived and the teacher did not show up until 20 minutes after the scheduled class time. 20 minutes! She didn't have any particular excuse for being late and wasn't terribly apologetic. I was stressed the entire class because I had scheduled that particular studio at that particular time because I needed to be somewhere afterward. Very disappointing experience.

It isn't, but all barre studios are a little different, and I've come to really enjoy the classes at Neighborhood Barre! I've tried several of their classes - Barre HIIT is my favorite right now because I feel the effects of the workout for days! It's a good workout. The instructors are really great, helpful, nice. The music played is really fun and helps me focus on the workout. Some classes are more full than others, but it's not jam packed of people. They offer a trial two weeks for $29 - and I highly recommend you check that out if you're interested in barre or NB in particular. You can also sign up for drop in classes on the Mindbody app (which I love). There's ample parking in the area even if the area can be kind of a pain to drive around (I always regret not leaving 10 minutes before I think I should if the class I'm aiming to get to is between 4 and 6, because I will inevitably hit every red light on Franklin Road for the whole drive). All in all, it's a really good studio. The classes are all different, so check them out until you find the one you love!

After each yoga practice they give you frozen lavender towels that help with getting your body temperature back down and wiping your face. This is by far my favorite part. Here are my thoughts on the experience: 1. Cleanliness - unfortunately, this is horrible. The equipment often feels dirty, and I sometimes get black markings on my hands from touching the weights, which is quite disgusting. The men's bathroom is even worse - it's dirty, musty, and lacks proper air flow, making the experience of simply washing my hands unpleasant. I didn't even bother to look into the lockers or showers because I bet I'd be frightened with how this may be "upkept." 2. Staff interaction - for me, this has been on a minimal, as I usually just want to get in and out for my workout. From what I've seen, they seem friendly enough, but I haven't had much need to engage with them. 3. Equipment Availability - this is generally okay. Though it can get busy during peak hours. Timing your workouts outside these peak times is crucial if you want to make sure you have access to the equipment you need and wouldn't want to wait / or if you're simply in a rush. 4. Overall Experience - while the price is great, the overall experience leaves me feeling otherwise. You feel like the equipment and facilities is neglected, and it impacts the quality of your workout environment in a way. So, if cleanliness is important to you - you might reconsider your options. But if you're looking for price/budget, this is great seriously! Just be intentional and wipe down anything you use BEFORE and AFTER, don't want to risk catching anything because you're not staying clean.
